Byron Leftwich About To Be Cut By Jacksonville

I remember back in 2003 when the Vikings failed to report our trade with them to the NFL on draft day, preventing us from drafting Leftwich. Now, the Jaguars are about to cut him, according to a news report.

I personally would like to see Leftwich on the Ravens, but I doubt there is enough room on the roster to make a spot for him. I was impressed with the way he played before his injuries in Jacksonville and I thought he showed great leadership ability, leading the Jaguars to numerous comebacks (including a few over Pittsburgh). I am certain that he won't be a free agent for long. He is too good a quarterback to not find a job somewhere.

I agree, he is a good QB;

but he's been injury prone and fairly inconsistent.

he was cut, and no longer a member of the Jag's......some team will pick him up, you can bet on that, The Kid has talent..he's just been bitten with the injury bug a few times and hasnt had much to prove himself to everyone

Too bad we wont be able to scoop him up with 3 QB's already on the roster. You know they wont cut Troy he has much to prove, and Boller still has 1 year left on his contract....

It would be nice though to have him replace Boller. Should cut boller this year and pickup leftwich would be a good move.

Why would we want to cut the backup QB who 1) knows our playbook cold and 2) has performed well in his backup role, for a QB who got dumped by Jax and knows nothing about our system?

That just doesn't make any sense to me. The season is underway already. (God forbid) McNair could get hurt in the 1st quarter of the 1st game. We need someone who can step in right away.

Hey Bird! I am really really superstitious you think you could knock on wood 4 times for me?. The 4 is a superstition for me as well LOL. Please could ya do it for saying that about McNair . I have it in my head now that we have just gotten jinxed and McNair wont make it the whole season.
