"much more worthy"? Yeah, I kinda' hate you.

You could argue for them to win, but I dare say you're out of line saying "much more worthy".

hopefully this doesn't mean that Joe Flacco will be Dominack Davis to Matt Ryan's Anquan Boldin, so to speak...

Well, remember your a defense team first like us, so offensive players will usually get snubbed for the POPULAR choice. Matt Ryan is more flashy and more prototypical as an NFL QB. Flacco to me isn't as polished but he has that thing that I think Ben has. They just win games, and have a nack for it. It's not always pretty like a Ryan pass, but still effective. I'm sure being a Raven fan you are used to this as us Steeler fans are. The media likes 'pretty' as well as most of the public. So, who cares. I would have never guessed when I heard that Flacco was the starter your team would have smelled 10 wins. I remember saying to a buddy of mine. "Well, I guess we'll take the division easy this year, a rook against our defense is just bad news, the games will still be close, but that will be the difference". I used to hate the media, because they like sports cars over 4 wheel drive trucks, but I say screw em, I'll take hard nosed football any day over any other way to play. Unfortunately, it's always harder to get the accolades unless is one of our defensive players.

A pass from Ben or Joe is a lot prettier than a pass from Ryan, taking nothing from him..he doesnt have the arm they do

Ben's passes have the worst spiral on them, especially on the deep ball

I kind of agree with you/ Joe and Ben has more velocity on their balls, but Matt still throws spirals. Matt has great accuracy, but I wish he would work in his deep passes.

I actually hate you with every fiber of my being right now, because I don't know why any of our starters didn't win an award for playing that position.

yall flood everyone elses stadium etc. yall get praised for doing what yall do...Ravens don't.[/quote]RedFire, I was speaking more about the general public and the media's opinion. We have a huge fan base, and I know we don't care how we win, we just want the win, it doesn't have to be Ben throwing 3 80 yard TD's with Holmes diving and tipping it to himself. We'd take 13-10 and 4 yards and a cloud of dust just as well. The media tends to give the awards and the public (not the teams fans), tend to pick the SEXY choice, the FLASHY choice, instead of the unorthodox choice.

Ben and Joe proved one thing this year, they just win games. They weren't always pretty, but they "Just know how to win". And you can't teach that as a leader, you just are born with it. Why do you think EVERYONE is picking Arizona this week? High flying offense. How are we going to stop their offense they are saying. Jamie Dukes keeps saying how we are the worst offensive line to ever make the super bowl... HUH!? I'm pretty sure the worst offensive line is somewhere at home watching this week. Ben made a great point in that the Steelers have played some of the top defenses in the league this year in Philly, NYG, Dallas, Ravens 3 times, just to name a few. I mean come on, the Ravens primary job is to make offensive lines look silly.

I'm not saying we are gonna blow them out or even win the game, but it just amazes me at how tough a schedule we have had, and how battle tough we are as apposed to Arizona playing in such a weak division. Grant it, they made a great run the past couple of weeks. But, look back at their wins, where did MOST of their 9 wins come from? As bad as Philly played in that game, they almost came back and won it, and remember how Philly looked most of the year? I think Arizona is a very good team, but until they beat a team like us I'm not sold yet. If they win come Sunday, much deserved credit is due. But until then I'm still not sure how good this team is. We will find out soon enough.

I think all awards should be subject to the playoffs I'm not saying all the awards should go to players that win the superbowl. Regular season should come into consideration but it's the playoffs where the real "pros" (not rookies) step up.

I disagree, some rookies and players has greater impacts on their team even if they don't make the playoffs.

Reading the comments on PFW, I find it amazing that people who don't watch any Ravens games sans the AFCCG give 100% of the credit to the defense who UNQUESTIONABLY won every game for us, while actual Baltimore fans laud and praise Flacco to no end.

It's just ridiculous how these people, who are completely ignorant of our franchise, speak in absolutes and state in a matter of fact tone that Flacco is not good and the defense carried us. Give me a break.

I like how they're ignorant of Le'Ron McClain's journey from nondescript FB to leading rusher, and also act as if Joe Flacco's initial role as game manager wasn't valuable to the team.

I mean, as a rookie, Flacco could've thrown interceptions like crazy and forced the defense to do all the work. Instead, he played within the bounds of which he was asked, and only occasionally put the game on his arm. He kept the defense rested with conversions for first downs, and he gradually got to the point where he was comfortable with his arm to attempt the deep ball (albeit, not as effectively as we would've liked.)

Basically, Flacco did everything the team asked of him and more. And that's not good enough for people outside of Baltimore, since they expect a starting QB to be flashy and win games with his arm. Why can't QBs (especially young QBs) just win games by playing smart? It's ridiculous.
