Scott to test waters
Unless the Ravens offer inside linebacker Bart Scott a contract that blows him out of the water - and they won't - he'll test the free-agent market. Scott had a good year and is one of the team's leaders on defense, but he is no big fan of Harbaugh's and his tough-guy approach. Look for Scott to see whether he can make big money elsewhere, and he probably can. If not, he might end up back in Baltimore, and the Ravens would welcome him because he fits perfectly into their scheme.

I know, that's what makes this such a crappy situation. I love Bart. I think he's one of the hardest hitting backers out there. He's one of my favorite players and he's such a great guy that loves Baltimore. I just don't see us being able to offer him the kind of contract he deserves.

bart is not really about the money so he may not get offered what he deserves but he would most likely take it as long as its not ridiclious amount if he does not sign he i do belive he may end up in a jes uni and ill be the first to buy a bart scott jets jersey

The guy was making something like $500 a week when he first signed with the team, that's crazy. How can you not respect him?

For some reason Mike Preston has a way of making me depressed after reading his off-season articles. Even what he writes during the season is sometimes depressing but at least I can write him off because the Ravens were winning and basically prooving everything he said wrong

Mike Preston is the worst Baltimore Ravens writer EVER. He must be a closet Steelers or Philly fan.

Bart Scotts gotta do, what Bart Scott gotta do. This is a business, and business is a two-way street.

He says it isn't about the money, that it is about Harbaugh. It's hard for me not to believe, that its not about the money. Which is okay in my book. I'd do the same thing. You know some team is going to give him a contract for way more than what he's worth.

We will get a chance to see if Scott was really a product of our system, or if he is really a great LB.

Good point. I've seen Bart miss quite a few tackles this season.

bart really hasent been as productive since AD left and he had his pro bowl year.. history shows any LB that leaves here has just been a product of the system 9 times out of 10 so we shall see what he does

I agree, he plays tough and gives it his all. That is what a Raven is, I hope he stays with us.

good for bart, he deserves the money after all these hard years for us and with JJ taking up 5.5 million we might have to let him go, Move JJ inside and start McCLain, Barnes or draft an OLB like Larry English

I hope he does not leave. We need to make sure to re-sign him. He is a good player. He tackles well and he gets some sacks. Also, like others have said he really gives it his all when he plays and is dedicated.

Well, being an aspiring Sports Journalist I can honestly say I don't admire him nor respect anything he has to write.

He received a $500 signing bonus. Dont forget that the league minimum is $435,000 a year for a third year player and I'll guarantee he got more.
