In Need Of A Basketball Team

Our Football season is over and done with for this season. Now what? After the superbowl and the NFL Draft we stuck waiting for Baseball, which does not start until a couple of more months. Baltimore needs a Baskeball team.

and too bad we ain't get the "thunder" not a good team, but it's better than no team.

but if we build a new arena it will come. ...don't think we can do it like the ravens playing at memorial stadium for a min.

and DC has 4sports

I heard they were planning on building a new arena. If we do get one, I think we can get a NBA team. The question is, can we support a NBA franchise in Baltimore?

I think we can support a team. You probably have a lot of people from Maryland travel to DC to watch the Wizards each game, so having a team in Baltimore would be less of a travel to some people. I don't think we can support a NHL team, I don't think it would be very popular down in Baltimore. I think this is just a off year for the Wizards, with a fully healthy team next season and a number 1 or 2 first pick (depending on the Thunder) I think you will see a much better and improved team.

Yeah I think we would show support for a basketball team esp, If a Superstar player was on the roster. Baltimore needs a team. Texas has 3 teams .. Give Baltimore the Rockets ... new name would be Baltimore Cockatiel or Baltimore Quaker

I would be totally for this. I live 15mins walking from the Arena, M&T Bank, and Oriole Park. We would have sports all year around even if our expansion basketball sucked, and the orioles sucked, the ravens would still be dominant!

This is why I like Baltimore in general, we support our teams even if they're not having a good year (or good few years). I would drive up to Baltimore to see an NBA game there, and it just might get me to give up being a Phoenix Suns fan ;-)

And yes, they are going to be tearing down 1st Mariner Arena and building a new arena right where the old one was. One of the reasons the city is doing this is to in fact attract an NBA Franchise.
