Just A Thought

Let's pretend it expires in 2010, and we sign everyone that we can (not EVERYone, but you get what I'm saying). So we are, just a guess, 60 mil OVER the normal CAP would be. In 2011, they renew the CBA. What would happen to all of our players???? Scary thought.

I've heard if the CAP expires fully, its gone for good. If for some reason it is reinstated it would they would probably set it at the level that exists at that time.

I really hope it doesn't expire. Lets face it, the salary cap is what makes the NFL so great. Sure it would be awesome to be able to keep all our great players but so could the other teams. The NFL would turn into MLB with the big market teams buying up all the great players. It would also somewhat negate how great our GM is since quality drafting wouldn't be as important anymore particularly when it comes to the late rounds. I still can't get over the fact that A-Rod makes $25 million a year to play for the Yankees. Thats why baseball sucks and the NFL is so great.

Everyone would leave the Ravens, our owner is much more frugal than most. Look at our weak signing bonuses. Redskins would most likely become the Yankees of Football and the Cowboys not to far behind.

Exactly. Baseball has gone downhill HARD because of not have a salary cap. Even though year in year out the Yankees prove you can't by a championship this year they might get away with it
