Cowboys Interested In Ray Lewis?
160 total tackles for the season. He lead the team by 50+ tackles to Suggs who recorded 104. He's worth keeping around.

You know its nice to see a fan in another town rooting for the Ravens. But you don't live here so you don't know what a guy like Ray means to the people of this city. You have no idea the intensity and energy he brings to the stadium on gameday when he is introduced.

Sometimes it's more than football. Come to Baltimore and see how many #52 jerseys you see walking around on gameday. This city loves having Ray Lewis here and there is no other team we want him to play for. This is where he should retire. Keeping the leading tackler on this team is not going to hurt our future. Ozzie is a genious and will make sure that this team keeps getting quality players all while managing the cap.
thank you. excellent post....
It is my understanding though and I think throughout much of the league that Suggs and Lewis will be resigned leaving Bart Scott as the odd man out.
Didn't Bart Scott take a pay cut last time to stay in Baltimore? Cleveland offered him a lot of money and he stayed here (for less then what they offered) because he wanted to stay a Raven.

Hopefully he does it again. I wouldn't want to lose Bart but if I had to choose between the 3 of them, he's the odd man out for me.

Not to mention, there will be no cap in 2010 if a new labor agreement isn't reached. Not to mention a player strike that could arise from this as well.

For as stable as the NFL is right now, the future is very shaky at the moment. After 2009 the road is going to get bumpy!
Yeah, your acting like I have no idea. I KNOW. What I'm saying is, sooner or later, he has to go! Emmit Smith???? He went to the Cards, but retired a Cowboy. Ray's numbers are most likely going to go down next season, and if we are only keeping him because of the "fan's interest", thats pretty pathetic. If Ray goes to another team, just for the money, I would be glad he's not on our team. Not saying he would, but if he did, he'll show his true colors. I'd rather have a younger, hard-hitting faithful than him if he left for more money.

You two are lost in your own little world, where: everyone plays for the love of the game, Ray would never leave for money, Chi town doesn't know what he's talking about, he's just a little kid, etc. Sorry to disappoint, but: Almost NO ONE plays for the LOTG (Scott being the exception, no one knows if Ray would leave for more money, I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, because I'm not stuck in my little fantasy world, where everything's perfect, and I get what I want.

I didn't think you could do that. I thought players had to go to the"highest bidder"? I thought that was what happened with Jamal because I know he wanted to stay.

I mean in all honesty who DOESN'T want to retire here? We have an amazing organization and traning facilitys. A great coaching staff and we are in the process of building a great offense to go with our always dominant D.

People who want some cash ;) I don't think you go with the highest bidder, it's whoever you want. With RFA, you HAVE to go with the highest bidder, or if your team matches the other team's amount.

Im sure there is pressure from their agents and what not to go to the highest bidder but I don't think their is a so called "rule" that they have to. Maybe someone who knows a little more about contracts knows for sure?

Once agian, because you DONT live here. Are you familiar with all that Ray does for the city? He loves Baltimore. I was there when J.O was inducted into the ring of honor. It cut to Ray on the big screen with tears in his eyes. He wants to retire a RAVEN because he IS a Raven. True he may leave for the money. But I think deep down he knows that it wont be the same if he goes to another team, After you play for a team for so long it's like a part of you. Take Brendon Ayanbandajo.. I LOVE HIM dont get me wrong, but he will ALWAYS be a Chicago Bear.

If he REALLY wanted to leave for more money, then he wouldn't be a true RAAVEN. The LB that most of you think is "the odd man out" is a TRUE RAVEN.

I love Ray, but its just being hypothetical :)

See, now you're not reading the posts that you want to comment on. No where did anyone say that Ray wouldn't leave for money. Maybe he will.

All we are saying is that "WE" don't want him to leave. And you assume that the leading tackler on this team by 50+ tackles to the next guy is going to have a major slump next season. All we are saying is that he is worth the money. Maybe you don't agree but many people here will disagree with you on this subject.

You go way off the wall sometimes. Especially with that comment at the end of your post. No one that I can see has said that to you.

I do agree with you though. If Ray doe's leave then we know where his heart truly is. This is why i respect Bart Scott. He love's this City and wants to remain here and has already said that. I understand this is a business and Ray Ray has <a family> to take care of.

I don't want Ray to leave either, but just so all of you know Dallas after all signings are 6.27 mil under the cap so they are not in cap hell. T.O. if released cap hit would only be around 600k.

They better send us Roy WIlliams. But I think Ray will stay. I think we should take a page out of the Redskins book and give Ray a very long contract knowing he won't play that long but allowing us to spread out his cap number. I think he would be willing to do that with all he has done for this team and how much he means to Baltimore.

This is true. Considering he spends the entire offseason living in Miami.
