You think the Jets will make it to the Playoffs in the first season? They dont even have a QB at the moment do they? Im almost positive Brett will retire. If not I think he needs too.

We'll definitely be playing them in 2010, but who knows where it will be. I think we played @ NY last year, so yeah maybe it will be in Bmore. But then again, we might just see them in the playoffs next year, who knows...

Rex seems like he might want Favre to hang around
Asked his thoughts on Brett Favre at his introductory press conference Wednesday, new Jets coach Rex Ryan said "I would think anybody would want him as their quarterback."
"Everything will be looked at, our coaches' input and everything," he allowed. "Sometimes you don't have your best game for whatever reason and we'll take a look. But certainly...the respect I have for Brett Favre is great." The Jets still hope to retain OC Brian Schottenheimer in an effort to get Favre back
.

thats so wierd to hear Rex talking about another team like that...Granted he is now their head coach. I cant imagine a more wierd transition of jobs. Going from being so devoted to one team and just switch gears with the snap of a finger to whole different organization.

Looks like they'll be missing Chad. Whatever, Jets aren't going anywhere in the next 3 years. They even lost their anchor Vilma this year. Rex wont be half the coach John is. He is made to be a DC, and that's that.

Rex will flop just like all the rest of our D Cords who tried to make it as Head Coaches. The New York media will be all over him and force him out the door in 2 or 3 seasons. I think a move to the Rams would have served him better. Less pressure.

I agree, It snaps us all down to reality and we realize unlike Ravens "fans" the team is quite different. It's just a business.

I don't think they'll make it far with Favre, He's a great QB but the guys old. I have also heard SO many of the players dont want him there, Now this could be just played up drama but I think theres something behind it.

It's going to be hard to get this Jets team to play as that... A TEAM.

Didn't Favre tell them weeks ago to start thinking of going a different direction in relation to the quarterback situation? Not that it means much considering what he pulled with Green Bay but still. I always liked Brett when he was a Packer and enjoyed watching him but I wasn't interested in watching/following him as a Jet.

Who knows, maybe Favre will be the starting QB for Green Bay next year. Wouldn't that be a story!

I know it would never happen, but many of us didn't see Favre being a Jet this year.

That'd be extremely ironic. and strangely enough, that's not outside the realm of possibility, if Aaron Rodgers struggles to stay on the field.

Favre could possibly (not likely) come back to GB as a backup and supposedly swallow his pride, and get the starting job by default if Rodgers goes down with an injury.

Sounds crazy, but crazier things have happened...

Here are the teams I think we will play this season:

Steelers (2)
Browns (2)
Bengals (2)
Green Bay (1)
Minnesota (1)
Chicago (1)
Detroit (1)
Oakland (1)
San Diego (1)
Denver (1)
Kansas City (1)
Indianapolis (1)
New England (1)

Not very hard to figure out
True, but until we get him a down field weapon, our options won't be a whole lot different.
You can't have Hines ... he'll retire as a Steeler.

A couple of NFLN guys were talking about Ray going to the Jets. Purely speculation but who knows. If he did though (and Favre stuck around), I'd like to see Ray get after Favre after he threw a couple of his patented picks and take that over-rated ego maniac down a notch or two ... that would be priceless.

Ya know, I love Favre's accomplishments as much as anyone. What he has done is nothing short of incredible.

But, you summed it up pretty accurately...the guy is a total egomaniac and drama queen. And I have yet to stay awake for a single one of his interviews/press conferences. The dude has absolutely ZERO personality, he seriously makes Flacco look like <insert the name of anyone with a pulse and something interesting to say>. I would pay good money to see Ray rip Favre a new one.

BTW...Pittsburgh can keep Hines. There'd be a riot in Baltimore if Ward showed up in Raven gear. Besides, he's a Steeler. It just wouldn't seem right if he played anywhere else.
Does anybody know what the Strength of Schedule is for the 2009 season

12-4 in 2009
.44 is the average winning percentage of our next year opponents from this previous year... that is significantly lower than what we had going into this 2008-2009 season...

our opponents this year had a .544 ... so i say we're looking pretty good for next season provided there is enough offseason development / retention to overcome any losses to put the team in a simliar position as this season (and injuries are not like the 2007 season... ugh)

I don't know if I could see that...but stranger things have happened. Do you think Rex would want Boller as a starter? Who was Favre's back up this year? a friend and I were trying to figure that out last night and nether of us knew.

No really, you can keep him. He's a cheap hit player.

Like I said, this will be our schedule:

Steelers (2)
Browns (2)
Bengals (2)
Green Bay (1)
Minnesota (1)
Chicago (1)
Detroit (1)
Oakland (1)
San Diego (1)
Denver (1)
Kansas City (1)
Indianapolis (1)
New England (1)

Our strength of schedule won't be be too bad as we play the two worst divisions in football (with the exception of the NFC West) in our division matchups
16-0 is a bit much when we play the squealers twice a year. Not to mention the last time we beat Indy was....well, when WAS the last time we beat them?

But, I wouldn't be completely shocked it we pull that one off. Let's see what kind of receivers and other goodies we pickup this offseason first.
It is a bit much, but not impossible. As long as we play GB in Sept/Oct, then I think our record will be something like this:

12-4

I think our only losses really are to IND, NE and PIT. We can run the ball on SD, I feel they're more pass protection from watching how they play. We can still go and throw up the deep ball here and there, but I think we can run on their defense.

If we go GB Nov/Dec:

11-5

anyone know the steeler's schedule? lets see what the chances are of us winning the division, otherwise we have to aim for a wild card again, and i don't want to aim for that.
