I Think The Ravens Think They Disappointed The Fans

20 posts in this topic

It seems quiet from the players camp...not coming to Owinings Mills Mall, not much word from players. Someone needs to let them know that we the fans are more than ever proud of them and can't wait to see the super team that will produce next year

I had a Redskin fan ask me today why I still had my Raven emblems on my car and my Raven flag flying...I said it's because I am a Raven fan, not a seasonal fan...I am not unique for a Ravens fan...I am so proud of what they did this year and somehow we need to let them know that...

any ideas how?

We could make a thread, but they might not read it. If you made like a poster, and have tons of signatures, or separate posters sent to the players, it would definitely show that we care.

It'd be cool if we could get Byrne of Duffy or someone to make some kind of a montage of footage shot at the mall on Monday morning, but it'd be tough to show it to all the players as they're starting their offseason... Training camp, maybe? All this being said, it's highly doubtful they'd do anything like that.
Maybe a little cheesy, but I say we all chip in a few bucks, and take out an ad in the Sun.
I'm pretty sure the Sun would do an article if we tried hard enough.

Or we could buy them a pony?

That would be unfair to the pony! Having Haloti Ngata sitting on your back would be pretty punishing.

I couldn't be prouder of what they accomplished this season. They showed more poise, more maturity and more heart as a TEAM than I think any team we have ever fielded.

Look out next year...If we keep our nucleus intact and add depth where needed, we can't help but be in the mix again next year, and maybe take it all the way!

If they watch the news, they will know:

No guys. This isn't some other team who people expected nothing from and had some miracle run. Guys, it's us.

It's Ed and Ray. These guys aren't losers, you know? They want a ring way worse than we want them to get it for us.

Keep them on a short, rusty, chain leash. Give them dirty water and grizzly table scraps. Make them sleep outside, rain, sleet, snow, or hail. Keep them mad.

And come the next September Sunday, when Ray looks around and asks those guys 'Any dogs in the house?' and he let's the chains go, well... you know.

I know I'm going to regret asking this but here goes. Are you some kind of sadest? You're the guy who posted in another thread that you hoped a player would be forced into "early retirement" and a QB would be taken out with a "suplex style sack" and that another NFL player "gets every one of his teeth knocked out."

The Ravens have nothing...NOTHING!...whatsoever to be disappointed about...except maybe a handful of fans like you. The team has had a great season and prospects for an even greater one in 2009.

Sorry MODS...I couldn't resist.

Sadest? Nice word. Did you mean Sadist? And no, I'm not a Sadist, I'm a Ravens fan. I want the Cards to wipe up the floor with the Squeelers, a couple battle scars wouldn't bother me.

I hate the Squeelers. Get over it. You don't know much about the Ravens if you don't think they function alot more effectively with a chip on their shoulder, and that's what I was suggesting in my post, that we keep that chip on our shoulder. Don't get spoiled. However else you read into it is on you.

Next time, resist.

Don't do it for the Mods, do it for yourself.

It came down to one drive. One drive away from being in the Superbowl.

Nobody expected this last year when we were 5-11. This team went beyond anything they could have realistically been expected to do, and if we manage to keep as many of them as possible, we're gonna be just as good if not better next year. And next year Flacco isn't going to be making rookie mistakes.

In all fairness, there were several hundred people waiting for the Ravens to return so that we could cheer them on. Lots of chanting in support of the Ravens, and everyone was excited to be able to see them. Unfortunately because they got stuck in Pittsburgh, the cops told us to go home. There really isn't much you can do when one of Baltimore's finest is telling you that you need to leave.

I really hope they will schedule a rally so that we can show our appreciation. I am still proud to be a Raven and I want to show them my support. If there's any doubt, just look at what I made today from Purple Friday items.

Yea..I meant sadist. I've played alot of sports when I was younger, and never would I wish on my most hated opponents the types of injuries you seemed to envision for the Steelers in the SB. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and attribute it to emotion.

As far as keeping a chip on the shoulder, ask Stone about how well that works to keep a drive alive. Teams with talent who win consistently usually do it with two things and two things only: training and discipline.

Whether you believe it or not, I like your team and expect greater things from them in 2009. Also, remember that these players are well-paid professionals. Many of them are friends, and even hang out with each other in the off-season. All the smack you see from them is usually for public consumption. It all helps to keep the fan base revved and the revenues flowing.

lol...you do have to admit that a suplex would be pretty sweet, as long as no one got hurt
