WR that FO can target via a trade

114 posts in this topic

Draft is over and I think we did pretty well but the team has a hole at WR. Which WR you think the FO can target via a trade with another team and how much would we be willing to give for a true number 1 receiver?

A name that comes to mind is marqise lee. He's starting to figure it out. Jags already have Allen Robinson, hurns and they just drafted dede Westbrook.

A vet OL is equally important. Perhaps Mangold or Dunlop depending on how they feel about Lewis as RT or Jensen/Urschel/Siragusa at C.

What would such a trade entail?

Don't even know. They traded away Julius Thomas. Maybe package one of our many TEs and a mid-to-low round draft pick?

Possible players we could trade:

Correa

Maxx Williams

Gilmore

Taliferro (sp)

Carl davis

All have their own issues and may be time for a fresh start. Be similar to the trade of jerrnigan

Trade for Nelson agholor for a bag of peanuts and hope a change in scenery will work for him. His stock gotta be at a all time low, he just have to get over that mental hurdle

Yup, that's why I mentioned them. Think they'd be good fits. We probably can't afford both so if the FO is most concerned about RT they might target Dunlop. Vice versa if Center is most concerning Mangold would be the target obviously.

That could be interesting, and he might come at a very reasonable price as you mention.

You dont want DGB. All that was ever attractive was his size/speed but he plays slower than his measurement and plays much smaller. I live in Philly and watch all their games and by the end of the season guys like Bryce Treggs were playing over him. Who's Bryce Treggs you ask? Exactly.

Not trading Correa or Maxx.

And Gillmore/Tali arent worth anything at all between their injuries, lack of proven production, and limited time left on their rookie deal.

Carl Davis maybe, but youre only going to get a Carl Davis-esque WR in return. Nothing game changing.

Plus, we dont need another young, developing WR who just needs reps or a chance (i mean, we've got a few of them here... why not just give them a chance). And none of those players add anything in a deal for a proven vet. Essentially equivalent to throwing in a conditional 7th.

If I'm the front office right now I'm calling the Jets and seeing what they want for Eric Decker........

There are reports they might actually cut him.

Id at the very least wait to see how hes doing medically. Thats not a contract you want to take on AND give up a pick for if hes not going to be 100%.

Though definitely a player to keep an eye on. Wishful thinking, but id love him here.

If he recovered, I don't think he's going anywhere after Devin Smith's injury. They drafted a couple but both speedsters / slot guys.

Devin smith was never gonna pan out anyway

Possibly. Busted out on injuries.

Didn't think devin smith would amount to much anyway. He wasn't fast or big enough to consistently do the only thing he did well

They like Enunwa... and theyre in full on rebuild. I could see them cutting him regardless.

Probably tanking for a QB next year, so why not get rid of him and absorb the cap hit now so you have more room the next 2 years to add talent, and so you dont have a talented player on the field who could help you win games and possibly hurt their draft pick.

I'd trade the 2 of them personally. A Carl davis esque receiver is likely 3rd on our depth chart right now.

We literally have nothing after Wallace and Perriman

Maxx and Carl Davis stay, everyone else I am cool with.

We invested in Maxx a 2nd round, his second year was spent on the sidelines bc of an injury and had a nice first year considering Flacco was out.

Camp, who has not proven to stay healthy but has all the ability.

It might just be crazy enough to work

With his injury history, I'd think long and hard before paying picks and $$ for Watkins since I don't see him being handed over for cheap and $6.5M prove it deal isn't ideal with our cap space.

I'd give picks for him. It's worth the risk. But I wouldn't want a one year prove it deal, at least get him for 3 years so the dealt pick can be worthwhile. Hopefully he stays healthy. But it's basically selling out hoping we get one last shot at a super bowl. With the defense we have in place, we don't need to do any major rebuilding, just need a C, RT, and WR and we could absolutely contend every year. With our defense it feels like it would be worth it to sell out for another shot.

they just declined his 5th year option... which wouldve cost $13m+ and is fully guaranteed for injury so makes sense. But clearly a sign theyre not fully bought in on him.
