Welcome to Baltimore Tim Williams

176 posts in this topic

I would've been completely happy with him at 16. Got him at 78. Steal of the draft so far imo.

Do yourself a favor and watch the sports science on him.

The explosive get off faster and more powerful than Robert Quinn, thighs as big as Arik Armstead while 40 lbs lighter, tighter/faster spin move than Vic Beasley...

Got up to 15 mph in 2 closing steps to the QB delivering a punishing blow.

Im salivating.

I still can't believe we got Williams where we did. That front will be scary regardless of everything else but with the secondary we just built, it turns into total nightmare for any team facing us.

I'd long said Tim Williams would go in the third because of off the field, but I wasn't sure he'd be a Raven.

Best pure 3-4 EDGE in the draft.

I didn't think he'd make it this far, but figured if anyone was taking a shot on him, it could be us.

Too many off the field for me to have seen him going higher. Off the field is why I didn't see the Ravens taking him.

Happy as hell to have him.

Almost identical situation to Justin Houston. Few spots difference.

Yeah it works for me.  I was kind of thinking that if we were going to take him, that would mean other teams were comfortable with him as well and he'd go a little earlier.  Glad it worked out where we were comfortable AND he was available for us.

I mocked him to us in the 3rd in one of my mocks and was told that was crazy.

Had a feeling he'd be a Raven all along and would've been happy with him at 16, 47 or 74.

Steal. Absolute steal.

At first I was really upset to not have landed Lawson, but then Williams name was called and I just died and went to heaven.

i think the words i used were "wishful thinking" - i'll happily eat those words because he was the 13th player on my board and we got him in the 3rd round

Yes our best pick by far!! I was trying to tell Flex couple days ago how big and strong his legs are. I have to post the URL. But his legs are as big as a 265lb edge rusher. His legs suggest his frame can carry 258 lbs. nice round number. lol same size as Peter Boulware our last true speed rusher was about 6'3 1/2 258lbs.Tim Williams being more explosive than Quinn is saying something!! One of most gifted explosive edge rushers I ever saw coming out. Better raw explosion/bend than  Garrett!!

Tim Williams could very realistically be better than Garrett. Crazy he was available there!! Makes Bowser obsolete. Should have picked JuJu there. Then this would be an incredible draft. I don't like Humphrey at cornerback at all. But I like the pick cuz I think when Weddle slows down Humphrey will set the standard for which Strong Safety's are measured

I have to agree with everyone here. This was just an incredible value. This defense is going to be absolutely sick. Steal of the entire draft.

Off the issue and multiple drug test failures could be an issue. Look at how many NFL players fail the drug test. It's not a good sign when you already have a history against you.

Good thing we doubled up with two pass rushers as insurance policy.

Did he fail a league one?  I thought he just failed one at the school which I believe does not put you in the leagues program.

I'm just saying...

Look at all the Ravens that failed even without a drug concern issue. Well, Will Hill had a drug concern and still failed.

Will Hill
Nick Boyle
Kenneth Dixon

As a 3rd round pick, I'll never care if Williams doesn't become a true 3 down LBer. Just him do what he does best.

Oh man I just listened to his interview with reporters and he sounds so humble - I loved this pick before but now i feel like we've lucked into an incredible steal - Pre-draft I had this guy 13th on my board - on film he looks amazing - in terms of pure edge rushing ability he might be the 2nd/3rd best guy in the class
