Joe Flacco is gonna need life insurance......and apparently the Ravens don't have much confidence in Correa. I hope Williams doesn't become the next Rolando McClain.

Nah. Reuben Foster is the next McClain.

All Flacco needs is a top defense and a running game. He's much better when he's a game manager. In the big picture, we'll be OK.

So lets review the bidding. Coming into the draft, the Raven's needs were EDGE, WR, OL, CB, ILB, DL (in roughly that order).

We came out with CB, EDGE, DL, and EDGE. Really concerned about the offense at this point. I expect some guys on the squad to step up on the OL, but dynamic WRs aren't growing on trees. This draft seems like an vote of no confidence on some recent D-heavy drafts (Z Smith, Judon, Henry, Correa, Davis...)

What player have we drafted so far that would compete at the same position that Correa does? Do you think that Tim Williams is a good fit at ILB?

I disagree. When we relied heavily on our run game and defense, our lack of playmakers on offense always cost us in the playoffs. Flacco was at his best when we had decent pass protection and a mix of tough possession receivers and speed on the outside. We had that in 2012(won SB) and 2014, when we blew out piits in the playoffs and had 2 14 point leads in NE. I'd say all Flacco needs is decent pass protection. He's always been good when he has a reasonable amount of time to throw. Even last year, when our o-line was healthy, the offense was pretty good. It was the games with Yanda and Stanley out that put us in a hole. That being said, this is supposedly a weak o-line class and a deep class for pass rushers, so I have no problem loading up the defense in this draft. The needs at C and RT are concerning though.

The team has said that Correa will be given a chance to move to ILB and start next to Mosley.

He was given the chance last year at ILB and was beaten out by Orr and McClellan.  I think the walk-on Onwuasor beat him out in the pre-season as well.  Hope he can pick up the position.  May be tough for an under-sized OLB/DE who played in a smaller conference in college.  Seemed like a reach at #2 last year (sound familiar?), and I have no reason to think differently now.  We'll see.

I think you guys are mistaken, badly. Correa was dealing with injuries. I watched him in practice and he looked good. I think we had a bunch of "ok" MLB's and the coach just gave the nod to guys like Orr, guys who needed to prove they could be starters. I felt this way before and I still feel it now...Correa is the true underdog

There's going to be no run game at this point. The o-line is shot and Dixon is out for 4 games.

At best Correa will be our Special Teams stand out. Judon, Onwuasor, McClellan, Bowser, Williams, not to mention any undrafted FA we sign. Would not be surprised if both Correa and Kaufusi are not on the final roster.

regardless we drafted him in the second round to be a pass rusher not ILB i hope he gets the starting job but why we drafted him and how we have to use him can mean two different things

Thats a pretty far fetched/illogical assumption. I would but the chances of that happening at 0 percent

No.. Mack... My question wasnt asking what players we drafted this year play the same position that Corea was expected to play last year.  This is what I said...

ME   "What player have we drafted so far that would compete at the same position that Correa does? Do you think that Tim Williams is a good fit at ILB?"

With Correa competing for the ILB job this year that means that (so far) we have not drafted any players that will be competing with him for that spot.

Your answer (below) wasnt relevant to my assertion.

YOU  "We drafted Correa to be a pass rusher not ILB lol and Judon out played him in the preseason so?"

Orr was far from an "ok" MLB.  In fact, one could argue he outplayed the pro-bowler Mosley.  Of course, he had several years to grow and develop into the position, and the same may be true of Correa.  The difference is, Orr (and Onwuasor) was an undrafted free agent, whereas Correa was taken with a high 2nd rounder when more proven guys were on the board.

We all assume/hope that the scouts and Ozzie have for more valuable insight into the value of a pick than the conventional wisdom of all the draftniks.  That has certainly been true in the later rounds and the undrafted guys, but for some reason they seem to be reaching in the higher rounds with disappointing results.

ok no tim williams shouldn't play at ILB an Imo neither should KC both were pass rushers in collage so I don't see a good transition but hey whats it matter anyway for all we know we draft Ben Boulware and KC never plays ILB or he does can't wait for the preseason

Im not so sure about the Benny Boulware pick.  In most draft projections hes expected to to in between 7th to UFA.

That said they are just projections and he certainly could go earlier than expected
