Ozzie alluded to the Ravens getting the medical info on Foster and Allen during the press conference which is why they went tumbling....so the front office knew there was risk there with them.

Four Bama players available and we picked the 4th best. Color me less than excited with the selection. Would have preferred Gareon Conley but I'm sure Ozzie knows best.

Trust Ozzie to take the best Bama player available. Would've loved to have seen what the trade (up and back) options were. Probably would've meant Barnett had we traded up, and still Humphrey or maybe Take had we traded back.

Surprised that Davis, Williams, and Cook went in the top 9 picks. We still need WR's considering we only have one legitimate one on the roster in Mike Wallace. Maybe this opens up the door to bring back Boldin(for the right price only) and pick up an under the radar guy today.

I still say Ozzie puts way too much stock in these 4th/5th rounders. If you're guy is sitting there in the 1st round and you only have to give up a 4th or 5th to get him, then do it. We could have had Ramsey last year and he wouldn't part with the pick to get him. We ended up with the 3rd best lineman in the draft despite having the #6 overall pick.

I see more and more teams who are already loaded on offense, continue to take even more offensive players in the 1st round. Defense almost doesn't even matter anymore.

We gotta get Derek rivers he is the perfect pick can't afford to wait till 3rd round

Derek Rivers, DE/OLB, Youngstown State
Height: 6-4. Weight: 248. Arm: 32.75.
40 Time: 4.61.
Projected Round (2017): 2-4.
4/26/17: Rivers ran fast at the combine and showed some athleticism. As a senior, he totaled 58 tackles with 19.5 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass batted. Rivers showed his pass-rush skills with eight sacks as a junior and 13 as a sophomore. He could end up being a second-day pick.

Well except when it comes to winning SBs, of course.

But if that's not your thing then so be it.

Probably tried to move up for Lattimore

The report was that it was a team "in the teens" after lattimore was already gone, so probably Cardinals or eagles for either Reddick or barnett, maybe hooker

Just stop. This is what happens when you just read scouting reports put together by some guy in a cubicle.

Rivers has some pass rush skills. But he has short arms & small hands, is horrible against the run and has only played against basically Div 2 O-lineman. He's a project at best. Not exactly the guy you want to gamble on in the 2nd or 3rd Round in this deep draft.

I agree with a lot of this but I assume the team we tried to trade up with last night would have wanted a 3rd rounder

With Dumervil gone and Suggs on his last year maybe 2 I would have love to have heard Allen's name called but with our beaten and bruised secondary I think Humphrey was the smart pick. Not mad about it by any means, let's see what they're able to grab later on. Ozzie always finds a gem on the DL late in the draft and it wouldn't surprise me if he already had his guy picked out.

We NEEDED Ronnie Stanley.... and I'm sorry, but WHEN did we draft Tavon Young??? What round??? He was a real surprise for me last season...

Gareon Conley has that "rape allegation" hanging out there.... He's not been charged. Claims it's fake... but came out the week before draft???

Just curious. Is Ozzie allowed to draft from schools OTHER than Alabama?

With the way the board fell there can be no arguments about us picking a player from Alabama. When the best players available are Allen, Foster, Howard & Humphrey along with 1 or 2 from other schools, did you honestly think we wouldn't pick somebody from Alabama?

I'm glad we got Stanley. I think he was the best rookie LT in the 2nd half of the season last year, and I think he'll be our franchise LT for a while. It's hard to find that, no matter where you pick in the draft. Our line was garbage without him last year, and we needed Stanley to keep Flacco from getting killed.

Just curious. Is Ozzie allowed to draft from schools OTHER than Alabama?

Let's see -- general consensus is that when it was time for the Ravens to draft the four best available options were all from Alabama (Humphrey, Allen, Foster, Howard, in whatever order you'd like). Tell me, whom would you have preferred Ozzie to draft?

I personally thought they would select Allen, and sure hope he doesn't turn into a beast for the Deadskins at the other end of the Parkway. But given the number of times the secondary has faltered late in games the last few years and given the injuries that have frequently occurred, I'm happy with the Humphrey pick.
