I would put Marlon on A.J Green the first game "You want to be the best, play against the best" . Ravens are going to lose anyway

I can't see us beating either the Bengals or the Steelers. With Garret and Peppers on the Browns defense, I don't see Flacco beating the Browns either. We are in for a very long season this year and if it does it doesn't bode well for John Harbaugh.

This is great...after one round of the draft it has apparently become obvious that the Ravens will go 0-6 in the division next year, especially because of 2 players Cleveland selected. How in the world did the "awful" and "talent-less" 8-8 Ravens go 4-2 against these same teams last year? Solidifying their secondary with Jefferson, Carr, and Humphrey so far in the off-season truly must have been a waste of time. And there will be no help added in the rest of the draft or the remainder of the off-season, so let's just sit back, Raven fans, and hope they lose enough to obtain the 1st pick in the draft next year. There is no need to be optimistic for 2017; the "brilliant" commentators on this message board have spoken!

"Its a bit bizarre really as the instances of players coaches and front office members reading these comments are few and far between."

Are you kidding me?

Do you, and other "brilliant" football minds who post on this site, really believe that the Ravens' players, coaches, and front office should be reading the comments and taking the advice of "well-informed" fans who are sitting at home on the couch in order to improve their performance on the field? Please, oh please, Steve Bisciotti, hire these football "geniuses" immediately so that the Ravens may hope to win a few more games next year; wait, check that, bring home the Lombardi Trophy.

Just as Donald Trump said during the campaign that only he could solve all the country's problems so only the "brilliant" posters on this site can solve the Ravens' woes.

You are a "brilliant" one aren't you Woolly61?  This was my comment verbatim.

"There are a lot of people that make comments intended to be direct messages to players mentioned in articles.  But they fall on deaf ears I am afraid to say.  Its a bit bizarre really as the instances of players coaches and front office members reading these comments are few and far between."

When I used the word "as" (bizarre really AS the instances) it is being used in the causal sense.  And that fact should be fairly straight forward AS the sentence would not be comprehensible if "as" was being used in the temporal manor.

Although, I did write the comment fairly quickly, and I could see how one could infer that the term "bizarre" was in reference to the fact that personal comments fall on deaf ears.  But if that were the case the comment doesn't make much sense either because it would be interpreted the way that I have written below.

It is bizarre that comments fall on deaf ears because the instances of players coaches and front office members reading the comments is few and far between.

And the only way to make the sentence above into a logical thought is by removing the word bizarre.  And once you come to that conclusion you would come to the realization that WE ARE ON THE SAME PAGE.  I have rearranged some of the components in the original sentence to make it a bit clearer for you.

It is bizarre that a lot of people make comments intended to be direct messages to players mentioned in articles because the instances of players coaches and front office members reading thee comments are few and far between.

Now it is clear that I could have worded that comment differently in order to make it clearer.  That said when looking back at the comment it is hard for me to understand how anyone (with an adequate command of the English language) could come to the conclusion that you came to.

I would suggest that before writing a condescending remark describing  someone as "brilliant" in a tongue and cheek kind of way, that you make sure to read the comment over a few times, to make sure it says, what you think it says.  And then you could save your analogies about the President of the United States for another day.

We are on the same page here once again. Not only are there 6 more rounds in the draft but the game that is under discussion is over 3 months away. I will say that there is a tendency for people here to sway with the wind. In other words three days from now or even tomorrow the gloomy doomys could very well change their sad faces into glad faces. And it is likely that they will go back and forth between those feelings a good 90 times before we play the Bengals.

Not sure why I even look at the comment section anymore but, personally I think this is a brilliant move on so many fronts. It allows a very aggressive attack on the pass while not weakening the run defense. Humphrey, Smith with Young in the slot, various other combinations where you could put a safety in as an MLB/ILB and play three safeties, CB blitz, etc, the possibilities are endless with this depth and collection of skill sets.

The ability to cover will also help young pass rushers develop their skills as they won't be pressed to press but will develop the step to bring those skills they had in college up to the play level of the NFL. It also adds a line of defense against teams with great offensive lines. Even a great line tires after too many long plays and with the depth the Ravens can keep fresh 4th quarter legs in the secondary, those teams are either going to run or they are going to be a lot of long plays or forced pass attempts. Either way that sounds good to me.

The Ravens needed depth and strength at CB. Just about everyone, fans and team have said that. So if you look at how the board went, the Ravens got the best CB they could when they could according to all the things that go into selecting.
Time will tell, however all the talk about #16 and 2-3-3 are just as important. The Ravens again get 3 very strong players at the respective positions. What they players can do on the field is how will be judged in the end.

I am high on every player selected, looking at each one for their position. That
is the proper way to evaluate. As most of us have agreed, never pick for position - pick for the player and ability in that position. The Ravens have dome that.

Saturday they can add depth at Offense, maybe find a Gem. But I expect veteran help at O-line and WR to be added over the next couple of months.

Bolden would play for us again, he just wont make his decision until mid-late June and that will be as long as he doesnt get any huge offers. I am kind of expecting him now.

Lamp and Robinson are still on the board along with all the top Centers. Ozzie may still pick up Mangold if we miss out on day two on some quality o-lineman. As far as WR goes, JuJu and Zay are still on the board and Boldin is not signed yet. I will wait to see what Ozzie does, because I have confidence that we are not going into the season without adding a few guys in these positions of need. These three picks tonight could be awesome ones.

How you feel now? I myself am sickened when I look at our offensive depth chart.
Defense is elite though, but elite defenses will not win games in this time and age unless your offense can put up at least some points. Our offense struggled with putting points up already last year and have gotten only worse ever since.

Q and Mangold are veteran depth at this point, they won't be the solution.

Honesty, I feel that our defense should be set for a good while now. I am very excited about our defense and special teams. On the other hand, I am disappointed about not getting our poor offense any help. I guess I have to trust that Ozzie will pick up a free agent or two as a stop gap and/or make a trade. Maybe he can find a gem tonight on offense who will surprise us all. Come preseason, I will be excited but my enthusiasm will be tempered because our offense will probably struggle this year at times.
