Ok so those that follow college football, where would you rate Derek Rivers?  Someone mentioned him to me earlier and I never researched him until today.  I like what I see.

The person in question is a friend of mine who's unfortunately mentally ill because he chose to be a Steelers fan.  Anway,  Humphrey, Watt, and Rivers were on his 1st round hopeful list in that order.

Rivers is unpolished but has all the natural traits you want in an edge rusher. With some good coaching he could be really good. I see him as a late 2nd rounder.

C_ minus bro and i think he will be  D!

The Ravens received a B minus for the pick. Not a C minus.

Did Kiper have him 28 on his board - or in his mock? There is a difference. He was Kipers 5th BPA when we took him, which means if every single player selected was ahead of Humphrey on his board, the worst he could have been would have been 21st. I know he did not have any QB in the top 20 (3 were taken) ... guarantee there were a couple others picked ahead of us that weren't ahead of Humphrey on his board - so that puts him at around, what ... 16?

Many had him at late first rounder to early 2nd rounder so whether you like his talent or not, we reached at #16. Top 20 picks should be immediate impact players - or at least with that obvious potential - because we all know things don't always go as they seem. Humphrey is not an immediate impact player. Potential, sure. Immediate starter? Don't think so. It was a reach. Three years from now it might be a reach we're glad to have made, but I don't see him bringing any immediate help in the upcoming season.

Rooting for Foreman in this draft. It's crazy that his second child is due on the same birthday as his first. Nobody should have to bury their child, especially at a ridiculously young age like Jr did.

USA Today gave us a B, and they were pretty tough.

So - coverage starts at 7 ... does the draft start then? Or do they yammer for an hour and it starts at 8?

lol yammer for a few probably but there is only 7 minutes between picks in the 2nd then 5 minutes in the 3rd

I kind of averaged things because we got Bs, B minus and we got a few Cs as well. SI for one.

I did not however, see one C minus lol

The pundits gave us As for the Matt Elam and Arthur Brown picks fwiw. I think these draft diagnoses (especially in such detail and with such certainty) might be a little premature.

15 minutes and counting....

This is what I've been most excited for... 3 picks in the next 45ish overall. Here's where we separate the men from the boys.

Have a feeling that after tonight (hopefully) those that weren't happy with the 1st pick see the overall draft picture and get on board.

Hoping we've vetted Tim Williams thoroughly and are comfortable with him. Bc talent wise he's a steal at this point.

After pass rush go OL in the 3rd if Elflein, Dawkins, Feeney or Johnson are available.

Then double dip at pass rush or CB... or grab the best WR and then we roll through the last 3 picks with BPA regardless of position.

Hence why I said " because we all know things don't always go as they seem. ".

However, that doesn't change the fact that Humphrey was a reach at #16 at this time and based on current knowledge.

So who do you like in the 2nd?

So if they weren't in a specified section they then lose any right to an opinion based on their own research? Right.

They're probably forming their opinion based off of what Vinny Cerrato said.  He did not like the pick.

Just hating for the sake of hating.  We know the reality.

Regardless, onto day 2 where I expect a ton more hate because that's the cool thing to do around here.

You did literally say in yesterday's draft thread that you base your opinion on highlights and "expert" opinions, so...that's not much "research"

What do you think we'll do?  I wouldn't be surprised if the Ravens even took another CB and shocked the world.  That would be a page totally out of GB and MIN book since they did this same stuff as well with success in the past.

Yeah, shame there isn't anything like the internet and video to watch footage of the picks so without the opinions of those in the specified section they could form their own opinion.

Seems cool for YOU apparently since YOU are the one who decided that only those who actually posted in a specified section have a right to an opinion. Or is it only those who agree with YOU have a right to an opinion?

I don't think it's out of the question.  I'm going to guess they're going for a pass rusher though.  Think there are just enough left for us to get one in our range.  OL would be my other consideration in round 2.

Round 3, I expect BPA within reason.  No specific positions in mind.

If they took Sidney Jones I wouldn't knock it honestly
