Joe should be used to it by now lmao

Yeah Joe is probably kicking his dog right now. Hopefully we address O line in FA and get mangold. That would mean we would have to make more cuts to afford the FA's

There is still unnecessary people on the roster. Looking right there at Benjamin Watson.

Wormleys Wisconsin tape is really good. I think he went exactly where he should have. And given the context of the two edge rushers we drafted, he's a good pick.

Watch his 2015 tape he was a way better player. Seems like injuries hurt him in 2016

Boy this draft has me with such mixed emotions. I like all the defensive picks, some really good players got snatched before they could reach The Ravens.

Kills me that the Steelers got JuJu, would have been a nice complementary WR here.  Then both Centers were snatched up too.

Just went through the entire draft so far and man, have AFC North had some ridiculous talent pumped in...

Yeah I noticed that too. Tons of talent drafted by all 4 teams.

I'm going to enjoy reminding steelers fans that Humphrey held Juju to 1 catch for 9 yards during their matchup in 2016.

Make sure to also let them know that Humphrey had 2 catches in that game and scored one TD

First, I want to say that I love the strategy of just attacking the draft to address one shallow position. Our FO attacked the LB position and came away with some nice talent on the edge. Suggs, Judon, Bowser, Williams... we now have excellent depth. Correa may even contribute as well. Same goes for our CB corps: Jimmy, Carr, Young, Humphrey. ...Hopefully this strategy works better than the time they drafted 3 TEs in 2015 (Maxx, Boyle, Waller)

-

I like the Bowser pick if he develops into an every-down edge LB. He's got insane athleticism (near top of the list in all drills at the combine among LBs), and he has experience playing off the line as a traditional 3-4 LB, but he's a bit inexperienced as a legit pass-rusher. He's going to need to be coached up.

I was somewhat underwhelmed with the Wormley pick (I really wanted someone with more upside like Kpassagnon), but Wormley is guaranteed to be a solid player. He's going to come in and immediately upgrade the 5T position with only Urban and Kaufusi as his competition. He's not going to provide much of anything as a pass-rusher, but he's going to be solid and versatile, kind of like Lawrence Guy. Plus he's a very high-character person, so that's a plus.

Tim Williams is the best pure pass-rusher in this class, but his ability to pass drug tests is a major concern. He's going to be a great DPR from day 1, but he needs to stay off the suspension list, otherwise he'll be the next Randy Gregory. I love watching him play though: he's always the first person off the line, nearly blowing by the OT before he's even out of his stance.

I don't know how you can do a "spoiler" on a draft pick.  These forums have the strangest rules.

When virtually every one on the forum is watching the announcements on TV, we're all in sync and commenting on the same picks as they are announced. When tweets come out 2 picks ahead of the discussion and someone posts them - when they KNOW that people are waiting to hear it on TV ... then that's being a spoiler.

It wasn't a "rule" per se ... just a plea for following the draft in that way.

Can't say I remember who was doing that ... can you?

I mean its pretty easy to understand - as with much breaking news around the NFL - beat writers often report things that aren't confirmed or haven't happened yet - in the case of the draft the show always runs behind the actual draft - I assume you can understand that it might take away from someone's enjoyment if they already know what's going to happen

I don't understand.  This isn't a game that someone hasn't watched yet.  This is a draft pick that the only information being received is the name of the draft pick.  What is being spoiled? That you have to sit through 2 commercial breaks to get the same information.  I don't get how waiting five minutes for the same information is spoiling anything for you.

If you are seeing it on TV 15 minutes after the pick has been announced is that important to you then why read the board at all. Really it makes no sense to me why you would want to hear about the pick 15 minutes late?   If you want to ignore the Internet it seems the best way to do that is to stay off the Internet.  Maybe wait until Sunday Paper and read about it there.

I try this in another way.

I don't know if you realized but on this Board it's full of people just like belfan, rossi and myself who spend entire months watching players' tapes, trying to figure out who might fit our team best and eventually predict the pic. Every offseason is a very long time for us, when we start to build a particolar "relation" with a few specific prospects. Thus, those picks are not just names that make no difference to us. We need the suspance, and we 'deserve' to enjoy the experience fully.

You could make a point for us not using any social platform during the draft itself but we're a sort of enlarged family here, so writing here is a way to share christmas day all together.

Look at it this way, you're watching whatever series (let's assume GOT) in streaming while your friend has it on tv (faster, a few minutes in advance).

You've been waiting for 1 year for THAT battle and he comes over telling you that Daenerys died despite knowing that you can't have seen that part yet. Isn't that the definition of "being a jurk"?

Sorry for that mods

Nothing like watching your favorite TV show.  The only thing you see on TIV is the commissioner walks up to the mic.  The fans boo him and then he says Baltimore Ravens select .....   I don't watch it on TV as it is complete boring and just watch the draft tracker.  A fair comparison would be how I don't waste my Sunday fall afternoons sitting indoors so I DVR the Ravens day games.  I have had people tell me the score when I specifically told them not to.  That is spoiling watching the game for me.  You had nothing spoiled for you.  You got the news when the pick was made and announced to everyone in the world except on NFL Network where they are more concerned about showing you commercials than showing you the picks as they are made. If you should be complaining complain to NFL Network for their delayed announcing of the picks.

The pick was over five minutes old when I posted it on  here.  How am I supposed to know that they would delay it that long?  So someone posting on the Internet who doesn't have a cable package is somehow supposed to determine when they announce it on TV to discuss it?  Even though it was announced on the Internet over 5 minutes before the posting

why are you announcing the pick here though? if you're not interested in the tv show why would you announce it on the gameday thread? if you arent willing to play by the rules (which we all want to play by) and discuss picks as they are announced then why bother posting them?

essentially your argument is "I, atomicfront, don't like watching the nfl draft coverage, therefore, everyone who does watch the show doesn't deserve to not have the show spoiled for them" - it's not like we were watching it an hour later - we were literally watching the international coverage - the picks werent announced to the world before the coverage - they were announced earlier by beat writers - the nfl certainly agrees with italianraven and I because they stopped any broadcast media from tweeting out picks early

You don't gain a reward or anything by being the first to make the announcement on the forum. On the other hand we do lose something: part of that experience we've been waiting for so long.

It's understandable that much people prefere do other things during their free time, just like you. We don't ask you to spend months on tapes nor to shut your twitter down or anything; rather just respect many poster's will and wait for 2-3 minutes to comment the pick. It's just a metter of kindness and it's really that simple.

So because you don't like the draft as much as others, it's ok for you to spoil it? How about don't damn spoil it when the mods clearly tell you not to? Is it so hard?

Was there another thread that I was supposed to announce the picks in? If there was I would have posted them there.  I don't watch college football so I just read the thread to get information on our picks.  Of course the NFL doesn't want you to tweet the picks early as they want you to watch the commercials on NFL Network.  Anyway there were probably 10 tweets by writers about the pick before I announced it.  And like I said I waited 5 minutes after the pick was announced to post it.  Anyway your argument is not logical.  The internet knows all about the pick and yet you don't want to read about it on the Internet.  I didn't come into your home to scream Tyus.

What are you talking about.  I was following the draft.  I choose not to watch commercials .  I had the draft tracker up and was following the picks.  I mean does there need for me to watch a ton of commercials , watch Goddell booed every 5 minutes and have the picks delayed by 15 minutes for me to care about the draft.

Seriously, just how dense are you?

Do what you want and watch what you want. 500 other people tell you don't ruin the thing they have going on every bloody year during NFL draft because they like it that way. We are not interested in getting announcements early from anybody because we like to watch the coverage together and talk about it while it's happening on OUR timeline. Who the hell are you to announce anything even after repeatedly being told not to?

Un-freaking (not exactly the first word that comes to mind) believable.

If you don't want to discuss the picks when they are made I suggest google chat.  Everyone is supposed to wait 15 minutes because a few of you think you own the boards?  Maybe this is why the Ravens are shutting the forum down. You guys think this is your personal board.  Giving people negative votes when the main cliche who disagree with anything your group disagrees with.

i mean you make the dumbest post I ever read about how great it is Steelers fans appreciate us.  And I make a disagreement with it and the negative votes come out.  You guys are like three year olds.  No adult cares about down votes.  And the forum is closing in 4 days.  At least I won't have to ever read your post again. .
