2017 NFL Draft Day 2 "Game Thread"

Wormley is the only pick I don't like so far, so not a bad draft in that regard.  I really wish we'd stop drafting so many DL.  It's great that we can develop them and all but how many do we really need?  5 years in a row taking one in the top 3 rounds.  I'd much rather have that pick go towards an incredibly weak offense.  I don't even think Wormley is a terrible player or anything, but it's overkill.

Not so much target talent they haven't shown that at all. Defensively, even offensive lineman, I get what you're saying. But WR, no.

Didn't say there were many good WRs left, said there were lots of great linemen left. But there's plenty of solid WR options there and we're not looking for a starter, just a sure handed guy for over the middle and there are a few guys in that list that qualify for that job.

I wonder if Joe was hinting this would be a defensive draft when he said in the presser that he would continue to wear his knee brace this upcoming season and we didn't need any more WR's, lol.

I saw the tweet that started it, are they going back and forth right now?

Coates just responded with "hahahaha"

Tomlin chimed in "play nice boys"

Cant tell if martavis bryant was serious or not because he isn't the sharpest tool in the shed

Humphrey brings speed and awareness to the team. If he can fine tune his ball tracking he's as good if not better than Jimmy.

From the tape I've seen he's never been beaten cleanly it's the jump balls and double moves I'd be worried about. He has some Charles Tillman in his game he try's to force some fumbles by punching it out and stripping it.

Remember the story about Kubiak having his "Welcome to Baltimore" moment when we drafted defense. Marty is probably like.... Where's my offensive players at???

I think he was 100% being serious, nothing about the tweet seemed like a joke and he deleted it I believe.

Bryant just deleted that tweet so I'm guessing he was serious. If it was a joke I don't see the harm in keeping it on your twitter

This is why the pick pissed me off.  I don't hate Wormley.  He's OK as a player and I think he could be a good player but man...another DL?  How many of these are we going to take throughout the years?

We're not looking for a starter? I mean, we're not now lol But seriously, Perriman hasn't shown anything to definitively say he's a legitimate #1. I like Wallace a lot, but he isn't a legitimate #1 either.

Well he's only 20 and with Carr here Marlon will have some time to be coached by NFL caliber coaches. I'm optimistic.

Why does everyone hate on Wormley? Hes a solid pick in the 3rd. Not much bust factor there

Wagner was a liability in the run game and Kyle Juice was a fullback who couldn't block. This offense needs some big investments, not mediocre late rounders.

Wagner was still good right tackle and is now the highest paid right tackle in the league at that. I also do not agree with you that Juice couldn't block. I don't think he was at Vonta Leach level but I don't think he was terrible at it or couldn't block at all.  There's still some good offensive linemen available and some of the tackles may not be good at pass blocking right now but I see some pretty good right tackles left on the board that could help with running game right now if they had to start.

There were maybe two legit #1 type guys in this draft and they both went in the top ten. One even went in the top 5.

Joe better wear a knee brace on both legs and as much extra padding as is allowed.

Just a correction, Wagner is the 3rd highest paid RT, after Lane Johnson and Morgan Moses (who just got a new deal).

He's a third round DT, what do you people expect? Aaron Donald? He's s very solid player. Don't know if you've noticed but the rest of the AFC north has just changed the game. This isn't a defensive division anymore. Players like the Worm are integral in defeating these new offenses.

We made no attempt at help in FA either though. I hate that picking up WRs on their last legs in FA crap, it's beyond old, but there were some decent options.

I didn't look at Morgan Moses new deal but I also didn't count Lane Johnson because The Eagles believe he's their future left tackle.

And he never will show the ability to be a starter if we hamstring him and never throw him into the fire. He was the 4th target on the depth chart last year and got 500 yards and 3 TDs, with some highlight reel catches. Eventually, you have to start the guy you invest a 1st on and we're going to do that this year with Perriman. He shown plenty of the traits of being a starting caliber WR, you're just choosing not to recognize them.

Of course we aren't looking for a starter, we have a 1000 yard WR in Wallace and Perriman is getting the start opposite him, it was never a question unless Corey Davis was avaiable at 16 and there was never a chance that he would be.

Drew Pearson is a weekly guest on local ESPN radio here in San Antonio. He is the dullest monotone dead beat you will ever hear...Ben stein is dynamic in comparison

That's a problem.

We have three holes. I'm not convinced Alex Lewis is a solution. And we've done nothing. We lost Wagner and fired Zuttah and we've done nothing to address that, so the solution is throw a 4 or 5 at an OL and hope they turn out? How do we know we'll get a Wagner and not a Jah Reid or Ramon Harewood?  I'm tired of ignoring of the offense. We lost guys and brought nobody in. We're not even back to where we were. How are we supposed to get better?

cam sutton to the steelers is fine by me - im not sure he's even the best cb on the board left

Our WR corp may not be impressive but the Steelers secondary is not either. Maybe we can at least pass for a few yards against them.....lol
