If we can snag an OL, a WR, and an OLB with the three picks ill be content, not happy, considering what went on in the 1st round.

Why? You won't find a better corner in FA. OL can be found in FA. I am excited about the pick. This gives the Ravens two tall corners on the outside to keep Young on the inside where he fits best, and then have a solid 4th corner in Carr.

Pass rush is ideal but Interior o-line is a must. Luckily we got three picks.

I have to admit. Robinson in round two isn't a terrible pick. In round one I would have probably killed someone. Or have been "fed up with this world".

If we go Malik McDowell..... It'll be worse than Robinson. I don't get everyone's obsession with him. He sucks. Sorry.

Idk. Me being upset has nothing to do really with Humphrey personally, I think he will be a good player. I guess its stemming from:

1. Getting so freaking close to Barnett and Hooker.

2. I really never took in the possibility that we would take a CB in the 1st, nor did I want to, as the class is so deep and there were bigger needs.

3. I have been against drafting a TE the whole time, but I wouldn't have passed on OJ for Humphrey. He would be just as valuable as having Mike Williams on the team. I might've even taken Lamp over Humphrey, but I can see why we didn't I guess.

Other than that, the board didn't fall as favorably as I thought it would, especially after the first few picks. And I'm assuming there were no potential trade backs we liked so we were kind of in a sucky spot - right in the middle where there is no great value picks. Ill get over it soon enough, and I hope Humphrey lights it up and we have the best secondary in the NFL. But for now I'm pissed at the Eagles.

He doesn't suck lol. He may end up being a lousy NFL player because he lacks the motor and passion, but honestly I think he is better than Jonathan Allen talent wise. But I wouldn't draft him, too much of a risk and we are in dire need of a safe pick in the 2nd.

He's freakishly athletic yes, but not a good player. 0 motor, no passion, not a good technician. I wouldn't touch him until the fifth.

OL I still think we sign Mangold after the draft and with Lewis at LG I think we'd be fine with in an house option or later pick to play RT. Or maybe Elflein or Dorian Johnson in the 3rd and you play them next to Mangold for a year or two and kick Elf into C later and Lewis plays RT. Either way I think we're one drafted player from being set on the OL. Jordan Morgan might even be a 4th/5th rd option that can step in Day 1 at LG or RT and give us an upgrade.

...

First off. Bold. I like you, I really do. You're a great poster. And I actually agree with your first point. I think Mangold is a good move. Drafting a potential replacement is also smart. I also want Lewis to play RT. He really wasn't good at guard at all. But frankly. We need an oline. I know fans are hellbent on WRs... But that's not our problem. We don't only need to protect Joe, we need a line to get the run game going. I swear to god, if we do anything less than draft a good olinemen in the second round tomorrow, I'm going to go to the back of Boulder and sing to the high heavens as I die of alcohol poisoning.

I hate Ozzie's plan for the oline. In fact, it sucks. I hope to hell we trade up for Lamp, or hell I'll take his man crush Robinson. We need good play on the oline more than ANYTHING. I like the defense going forward, and I think there are potential sleepers at the WR position in the third round that no one is considering. BUt I would like to see us draft multiple olinemen in this draft. I hate Nembot(even though he's a Colorado boy... Sko Buffs), and I don't trust Wesley. We don't have a center, and Lewis honestly was terrible at LG.

I don't give two damns about the WR. Perriman should improve, and I think Maxx is going to surprise some people. Wallace still has his speed and I think we could find a guy later on.

I'm sorry. I don't like the way this draft is going so far... And I LIKE Humphrey as a prospect. The offense needs work.

Ozzie Newsome needs to realize that Flacco isn't freaking superman. He can't carry the team on his back alone. He needs to stop neglecting the damn offense like he always does. For the love of god.

I've had it up to here with him personally. I think he's gone next year and we clean house.

I'd actually like him. only Bama prospect I didn't like this year was Robinson in the first. But in the second that's a good pick. That said, I'd hate it cause of the character concerns.

Players I want:

I've been really high on Zay Jones, ranking him among Ross and Davis and ahead of Williams. He's the player I want more than anyone else for day 2.

Sidney Jones would be a good value pick, although I seriously doubt we go back to back at CB lol.

Lamp is unrealistic to fall, but a no-brainer pick if he's there.

Cam Robinson would be a fine round 2 pick if we don't trade up and if they consider him a LG.

Malik McDowell would be an ideal 5-tech and likely an upgrade over Urban and Kaufusi, although he's going to have motivation problems, and he needs a lot of coaching. Typical boom/bust prospect.

I'm really high on Kpassagnon, since he seemed to be a monster for OL to handle when I watched him at the Senior Bowl, he's physically impressive, and he's an ideal 5-tech, which we are very thin at with Urban and Kaufusi. He's probably more of a late 2nd rounder/early 3rd rounder though.

Tyus Bowser is an intriguing rush LB prospect, although I can't say I know much about him because I've never watched him.

I'm intrigued by Tim Williams, but I am very put-off by his failed drug tests. I'll trust in Ozzie's Bama connections if they end up going that route.

-----

As for the Humphrey pick, I was pretty neutral when we picked him. The value is appropriate: physically he's an ideal outside corner, he has a high ceiling, and he was durable in college (knock on wood that he stays that way). I was relieved that we passed on Foster and Robinson, but I was disappointed we passed on OJ Howard, whom I viewed as a top-10 prospect. Some critics say that it doesn't fill a need, which may be true for 2017, but I don't think Brandon Carr is someone you can project as a starting outside corner for years to come, considering he has declined over the past couple years, and he's only getting older (about to turn 31). They are bringing Humphrey into a good situation where he doesn't need to start right away (if everyone comes out of TC healthy), so I like it for that reason. It's a fine pick.

I agree, we were so close to Barnett but more hooker! I have mixed feelings though..... Humphrey is a good pick but we were so close to a great pick. But only time will tell. If we get lamp tomorrow some how and/or a top pass rusher or juju then I think I'd get over this mixed feelings. Maybe getting Brandon Carr was a smoke screen for Humphrey? Idk... but Friday will have a big idea on what direction this franchise will be heading this season.

You and me both!  I am telling you Zay is going to be the steal of this draft and I am prayin' to the WR :34853_angel: that we land him.  Zay is an excellent route runner, has perfect hands, catches everything that comes his way, he can block too, he has a high football IQ, great work ethic, and his dad was a 1st round draft pick which is something that the Ravens covet having that NFL DNA.  Please Ravens draft this guy!!!

I'm probably going to be called crazy for saying this, but he reminds me of Deandre Hopkins. Really the only knocks on him are that he isn't a vertical threat and he didn't run a complex route tree in college.

Initially I was pretty neutral on the pick, but I'm actually getting excited about him. If/when Jimmy goes down CB-position would be screwed - Marlon shores this up. Oz tried to trade up (possibly for Barnett, Hooker, etc.), but there were no takers. He considered trading down but the value wasn't there. We have so many TE's including a 2nd rounder from a couple years ago - the cream has to rise to the top there. IMO CB has been more critical for Ravens than TE lately.

Agree, they need to recreate the conditions present during the last Super Bowl run. Providing Joe with PROTECTION so he can actually deliver precise passes. His primary passing weapons we're:
- Boldin (savvy, strong but slow), that's the type we need to find. Possibly vet FA acquisition, maybe the man himself.
- Torrey Smith, Perriman will be 5-10x what Smith was/is + we have Wallace/Moore as well.
- Pitta who's still on the roster + Williams has to start producing.. please (also Gilmore, Bouyle, Waller, Watson)
- Raymondius Rice. I'm confident in a mixture of Dixon, West and Woodhead.

Also, the run game was good during the SB run, further relieving Joe of pressure - just a nice synergistic effect for the man under center.
He's never gonna be Aaron Rodgers, protection and running game is KEY for this offense - not WR with our top 3 picks.

Next 3 picks should be a mixture of pass rush and Oline imo.
Was Lewis really terrible? D'you think he'll do better at tackle?

I would trade up for Zay Jones, or Curtis Samuel. If not then I'd take Cam, or Lamp.. a little disappointed we didn't get an impact player on offense

According to one GM, Dalvin Cook's rep at FSU was: Excellent when he was around the team, scary when he wasn't.

Packers are open to trading down. Should we trade up and grab Dalvin Cook?

We have more pressing needs than a running back that needs babysitting IMO.

On a serious note. My day 2 targets: JuJu, zay jones, carl "Broly" Lawson, lamp, Chris godwin, cam Robinson.

Yeah that's right I totally forgot about Lawson. He's up there as one of the best pass rushers if he could stay healthy. I'd like him as our pick. You just have to hope he's going to stay healthy kinda like Ross.

For our targets today I prefe we take Derek Rivers, Bowser, Lawson, Lamp, Elfein, Zay Jones

I like Lawson as well and he definitely is up there as one the best pass rusher but I'm not sure if he can be more than just pass rush specialist for The Ravens.I think The Ravens main goal should be trying to replace Suggs not  Doom. Lawson health is a  concern but i get  optimistic about him staying healthy with The Ravens new strength and condition coach on board.

Hopefully a pass rusher in the second- Lawson, Williams, Willis, Bowser etc. Then wide receiver and o-line in the third.

I think he could be an all around player but I don't think we need a starter to replace Suggs but rather a guy who can rush behind Suggs and rotate with him and eventually replace him. I like Tim Williams but his character concerns are very concerning and I often disliked how he bent the edge as I saw him tend to rush straight ahead up the field where he took himself out of the play.

I really like Derek Rivers quite a bit because he tested very well in the metrics that I feel best measure explosiveness in the broad and vertical and his 40 was also good. He also brings an element of untapped potential since he came from Youngstown State. He could be one of the best pass rushers in this class with the right coaching.

Besides Rivers I also really like Bowser because of his explosiveness. He is another guy who I think could be scary good.
