2017 NFL Draft Day 2 "Game Thread"

Ok guys and gals....

So Cam Robinson, Forrest Lamp, Dion DawkinsĀ and Dan Feeney all still on the board for OL.Ā

Tim Williams, Carl Lawson, Jordan Willis and Tyus Bowser all there for pass rush.Ā

Juju, Godwin, Zay Jones, Curtis SamuelĀ and Cooper Kupp on the board for WR.Ā

And great talents all over the field still available.Ā

Ā

Where do you think we go?? We've got 3 of the next 46 picks... a lot of value can be had.Ā

What are you hoping for?

I'd be aiming for one of EDGE guys if I can, and hoping the OL fall continues into the 3rd. Not enamored with the WR options and don't see a huge difference to what could be available in the 3rd.Ā

Depending on who is available, I think a trade back could be a good move.

Right now I'm hoping for one of the edge guys to be there. Maybe Williams or Lawson.

I feel like we need to get TimĀ Williams. He is a beast at pass rush and we desperately need that I don't think he is a complete 3 down player and can improve on a lot of things. Maybe we trade into the second with some pairing of 3rd and 4th round picks to get into the late secondĀ for a falling tackle

I agree with you guys... when Reddick and Barnett went right ahead of us I immediately went to pass rush rd 2.Ā

Hoping that we feel comfortable with Williams and he makes it to us bc I think he's got Top 15 talent.Ā

OL I still think we sign Mangold after the draft and with Lewis at LG I think we'd be fine with in an house option or later pick to play RT. Or maybe Elflein or Dorian Johnson in the 3rd and you play them next to Mangold for a year or two and kick Elf into C later and Lewis plays RT. Either way I think we're one drafted player from being set on the OL. Jordan Morgan might even be a 4th/5th rd option that can step in Day 1 at LG or RT and give us an upgrade.Ā

Ā

And I'm not in love with any WR at 47.Ā

Pass rush, pass rush, pass rush. I'd be happy with any of the 4 but I go Tim Williams, Carl Lawson, Tyus Bowser, Jordan Willis in order of preference.Ā

A lot of options for the ravens because a run on Corners are going to start coming with Green Bay at 33Ā

I think so too.Ā

Were going to see Kevin King, Quincy Wilson, Awuzie, Sidney Jones, maybe Moreau come off the board in a hurry.Ā

If it does happen grabbing the CB round 1 could look genius as first round talents fall to us with our next 2-3 picks as everyone else scrambles to get one.Ā

Philly almost has to get one with this next pick.Ā

Also think we're going to see Cook, Mixon and Kamara go before our pick.Ā

Even though he doesnt know how to do much else than pass rush? Also he has question marks about character and Football IQ

Maybe Cook but not Mixon too much Character concerns and Also Cook does have injuries issues. I am just upset that Davis never got to us :'(

He's got elite pass rush talent... incredible explosion, quickness, can bend, win inside or out and has power for his size.Ā

His run defense is underrated. He just didn't have much of an opportunity to show it.Ā

The character doesn't concern me. By all accounts he's a great teammate and loves football. I'm confident that the experience of being widely considered a lock first round pick to now possibly dropping to the 2nd or even 3rd round will scare him straight. He saw what a failed test did to Foster. Top 5-7 pick dropped to the end of the first.Ā

Ozzie will have him vetted. If he's confident in him so am I. He was my 3rd rated edge rusher.Ā

You guys have nailed it I think in terms of our target- I think it's pass rush

theres also deshone kizer, Davis Webb, Joe Mixon, dalvin cook, Alvin kamara all hanging there and if anyone of them goes before 47 it's yet another value talent falling towards usĀ

there are 14Ā picks til we are on the clock and I can name a fair fewĀ players at least I'd be happy with at 47 off the top of my head:

tim williams, cam robinson, Malik mcdowell, forest lamp, Quincy Wilson, carl lawson, jordan Willis, Budda baker, zach Cunningham, juju, dan feeney, zay jones, chidobe awuzie - that's 13 -Ā and I can definitely see Marcus Williams, Kevin king, obi melifonwu, teez tabor maybe going ahead of us as well - maybe even some more tight ends...

47 could be bountiful for us - I hope it's one of tim Williams or carl lawson though personally - or if not - cam robinson or forest lamp - I think it's possible we get a guy who's really high on our board stillĀ

I'm looking through the teams that pick ahead of us and it's just as tricky to work out what makes sense as it was in the 1st: there are only a few that seem to make obvious sense - seahawks take robinson or lamp,Ā bengals take the other one - unfortunately I see a lot of teams who also need pass rush... packers, bears, jags, rams, jets, panthers, saints, bengals, bills, colts - they obviously all have a myriad of needs but that's a lot of opportunity for us to be disappointed

Forgot about Ryan Anderson.

lawd have mercy..no..Ā i don't want a guy whos highest potential could be JJ but more likely an upshaw

Ā

I really want jordan willis or forrest lamp. Might have to trade up to get the latter. I'll bet ozzie is wetting his pants that his alamabaĀ crush robinson is still around :/

I want Tim Williams, Anderson, or Rivers in the second. And then Carlos Watkins and Isaac Asiata in the third.

If we can snag an OL, a WR, and an OLB with the three picks ill be content, not happy, considering what went on in the 1st round.
