My Mock Draft 1.0

I don't usually do mock Drafts or even post on the forums really, but this year's draft has me so excited so I finally did one (actually i did two). (Before i get criticized no I am no expert on film of players. I don't watch endless games of CFB. I know of certain players and have watched highlight videos of most of the Round 1-3 projected players) I used fanspeak's On the clock simulator. I tried finding a simulator that lets you trade picks but I couldn't find one. Here we go!

Disclaimer: In draft #1 Barnett, Williams, and Foster were gone before pick #16 and Tim Williams was gone before pick 47. 

 

I favor the first draft. WE get a stud of a receiver, a good pass rusher for the value of pick, get a great shutdown CB for the future even if we have to sit him out for the year.  We get our O-line situated with our future C and RT. Plus more depth at corner and rusher. Tell me what y'all think.

I hate the simulators because they aren't realistic. I like the idea, but I wish they were more accurate and updated better somehow. Sidney Jones won't fall to the third, he will likely be at the end of round 1 or top of round 2 at the latest.

It was pretty updated in the fact that Mixon fell and Conley fell all the way to round 7 due to the rape allegations.

What round did Mixon fall to? From what I have read it sounds like he will likely be selected in the mid-late 2nd round. 

A lot of the story that has come out about Conley sounds like it was all a lie. Conley won't talk to police until Monday and some teams will likely be afraid of that. But it sounds like from what was reported to the police from witnesses, nothing happened. No charges or warrant for his arrest.

He fell into the third to the colts. Ironic don't you think Irsay giving the ok to draft a guy with a DV issue lol

the thing is though, what's realistic? 

sure, theyre probably unrealistic...especially early on in the process when the people who develop big boards havent had a chance to talk to many scouts and sources.

But we only think theyre unrealistic bc they dont match up with what media says is likely. Theyre usually way off anyways. So, it may very well be the simulators are more realistic. we dont know.

Fanspeak is pretty updated now and its tough to land yourself a really good draft. And a lot of experts have guys like Sid Jones and Tim Williams still falling into the 3rd. I wouldnt be shocked honestly.

theyre nice. i use fanspeak a lot... its fun.

Really like the 1st four picks in both... and honestly beyond the 3rd round its anybodies guess as to who may actually be available and who will be good, so i wont comment much on the later picks.

We hit on the the holes while grabbing guys who would likely be BPA at that spot -- when value and need meet its a beautiful thing. 

Only knock i have is Pocic - but its a personal preference. I worry about his leverage, and i dont think he fits the model of getting bigger and nastier that the FO and coaches have preached. But, some really like him and thats fine.
