16 posts in this topic

Assistant General Manager Eric DeCosta is having a tough time predicting who Baltimore will take in the first round. He said he doesn’t know who the first quarterback, receiver and running back off the board will be or where they’ll go.

I think it might be more difficult this year because there is more talent across the whole board.

That's what I was thinking as I was reading the story.

I am sure every other team is in the same boat as us. And we could go WR, OL, EDGE, or DB in the first round; plus, we could move up or down. It's a tough draft to call. But, as you say, lots of talent there. Just hope we kill this draft, because we need to.

Anyone ever notice that Eric DeCosta always looks like someone is about to ask him about a crime he was a suspect for many years ago?

Ozzie and Co. need to block out all the small talk and just do what they normally do and that's find good talent! We've been in position to win numerous Super Bowls so just keep that "Birds Eye" open for the BPA like they always do! The only thing I would like to see is some Buckeyes on our squad but I'm good on any player Ozzie and Co. select! So sit back and watch them do work ya dig!

The draft room is going to be hectic and fast paced, just the kind of thing DeCosta likes. I really don't care "Who" we get because I know we'll get at least one stud of a player, regardless of position. Everyone else will be a, wait and see as usual.
I'm actually looking forward to what guys like Moore, Kaufusi, Young, Nembot and of course, Perriman will do after a year in our system and more opportunity to play.

That's because of all the focus to getting all the perfect pieces and MORE weapons, so that we can dig Dunkin Joe-nuts out of his hole- again.

wonder what jamaal charles asking price is. yes he is as brittle as they come but he has skills and if he were to accept a 1 year deal that worked with our cap space and with performance bonuses would it make sense for us being that dixon is out for 4 games and will have to earn himself playing time. taliafero is a ? as well and west is not someone that can carry the load himself. im sure it will also depend on whether we add anyone in the draft

Agreed...at this point the market seems minimal for JC but there is no denying that the guy is talents and can be the type of home run threat (the type that we are looking for). He is brittle (but so is Pitta and Jimmy). Plus JC would NOT have to carry the load. With West -Dixon and Woodhead.... JC would really only need to be that home run threat for us. He would make our offense more dangerous immediately! I like it!

Agreed- there is a ton of talent and at the skill positions (which is rare) the nice thing is that this is not a top seven this year but realistically a to 20

Let's hope Oz and company get it right this draft we need a play maker on day one.

They get it rite every year! Its not Ozzie and Co. fault their QB choking away Super Bowls! We should have 4 maybe 5 Super Bowls if Joe didn't get stripped by Troy for one and throw that very very very bad pass against the pats for maybe going back to back so Ozzie and Co. can't enjoy the fruit of their labor if Joe isn't living up to his Elite status contract!

Does anybody ever do a postmortem on these mock drafts to evaluate how good Kiper, McShay and others are at predicting draft placement? I think ESPN is up to mock draft 127.0
