Critical Observations Of Why We Lost
This was one of the games where the team just lost. A lot of things contributed to the loss but nothing really stuck out. The turnovers were costly but when the best receiver on the team is a 35-year-old with a separated shoulder, it's tough to complete passes.

I do agree that Rice should have been used more. McGahee ran well but I would have given Rice at least 10 touches last night. He was fresh and ready to go but the coaches underutilized him.
I agree on all counts. The game was much closer than the score shows, and trust me when I tell you that most Steeler fans never thought this one was in the bag until final few minutes.

Both teams made huge mistakes (already mentioned)...only difference is that the Steelers capitalized on the Raven errors more than the other way around. That was the deciding factor.

These are probably the best (and most entertaining) teams in the NFL right now. I'd bet if you put it to a vote, most football fans around the country would like to see a Raven-Steeler Superbowl this year.
simms and nance were clearly rooting for the Ravens. I turned the dagone sound down so I didn't have to break my TV. I thought they were both going to give Ray Lewis an AIR START at halftime
"Defense was good but not great this game, no pass rush and only one turnover. Offense was terrible, if not for the 2 pass interference calls the Ravens would have scored zero points."

If not for the PI calls maybe the WR could had a chance to catch the ball for a TD so saying they would have had 0 points is stupid.

simple fact guys. we can argue all we want but the simple fact is the injuries just caught up with us.... we couldnt compensate for the last couple injuries to samari and sizzle and mcclain.
Honestly, guy, this game wasn't even close. Without penalties the Ravens Offense doesn't even get a whiff of the endzone.

Bright spots of the day - Mcgahee pass blocking and shutting down the Steelers run. Thats about it.
If they did not have the penalties maybe the WR could have caught the ball!
You know what? I just got back from the gates of hell; Heinz Field. And as much as I hate that yellow team, we got beat fair and square. We were outplayed. Stop trying to bust this apart by blaming what we did wrong. How about for once we take some licks. How about we had a really nice, long run, and that team we all love to hate was the better team on January 18th.

As far as the fans at HF; I can write a whole mini-series on that...and I will later, but I'm going to go to bed, get up and go to work, and be proud to be a Ravens fan. We have a great team, and you can sit here and MM QB all day, but at some point, you will need to get over the fact that we were beat fair and square this time.
Couldn't agree more. We had a great season and we were defeated by the a team that played better than we did.

I have not read all the post on this thread & maybe this was already stated..To me the game was lost on the unnecessary roughness call that pinned us back at the 15yd line with 6 minutes to go... TV went to commercial..they came back and it was like what the _ _ _ _ .... penalty .. A bad penalty that hurt our team. I think we were at our 40yd line with 6 minutes...

We were in that game and had a chance...
couldn't you have just said "joe flacco" and saved everyone a LOT of reading?
NO No way we can blame this loss on Joe. We lost as a team. Defense missed some tackles, stupid penalties
