... and the variance may be even greater when it comes to what fans think. All I'm saying is for a fan on the boards to call another fan crazy because they are holding out hope that a guy like Williams falls to us ... when a fair number of analysts are predicting it ... is a little condescending.

Thank you.

Gotta stay off twitter too. The recent trend of guys like Rappaport and Schefter announcing the teams' picks before they're announced on TV drives me nuts. Takes all the  drama, suspense and fun out of draft night.

I stay off for round 1 but have to check Twitter from there on out.  Day 2 gets bogged down by all of those special guests and they always end up a few picks behind, and I just don't have that type of patience lol

LOL This is SO true.

We all do love draft night but we don´t feel like that "pause before the players announcement" it´s thrilling enough if you have no clue of what that name means. We just don´t want those 90 seconds of shallow Mayock´s compliments. We want to be able to understand if in the box we´re unwrapping there´s something we used to dream of, or that we´ll find useful, or that makes 0 sense. We might make our own mistakes, judging what we see but, coming draft day, with no individual opinion on those prospects it only looks like one weird lottery where everybody celebrates without knowing if they won or not. Not Christmas day.
Sorry if I used the plural :D

Watching every fan in the audience celebrate for whatever pick their team just did it´s weird. It just doesn´t look natural. I´d rather watch the instant reaction of every poster here in the draft section.

I love the reactions lol, The emotions run so high like the Game Day threads. And then a couple of days-week later, you see posters admit they slightly change their opinions after settling down from draft night.

Fortunately, I don't have a Twitter account so I'm good there :D

Oh you're absolutely right too, here. People might talk themselves into liking a pick in the hope their judgement was wrong and that their team did the right thing. It's a sort of 'altruistic way of thinking' however. Even if not coherent I find it more sensed than cheering for the sake of cheering.

In the same measure you'll find comments like mine or some other posters' who didn't like the prospect and haven't liked the pick.

Like BOLDn says, forming your own opinion on prospects by watching tapes and discussing them on platforms like this one is a different level of committment, thus a different experience imo. It can be morally extremely rewarding but also very frustrating.

i just like to be informed on draft day - i like to be able to see beyond the propaganda of the every pick is a great pick mindset on draft night and why the guy who looks phenomenal in that 30 second reel they show is going in the 4th round not the 1st - call me judgemental but i like to know at the time (rather than just in summary at the end) who is having a good draft/who the real surprise guys dropping are etc.

being able to know stuff beyond the big names, the big teams and the marquee positions makes me happy

Chad Kelly graded out as one of the best QB ever on Sports Science. He's a very good thrower, probably the best thrower of this year draft but you can't take the mental part of the game away when you judge a player before you draft him. Mike Williams I'm not his biggest fan but I can be easily convinced because I think the Ravens need a sure catcher WR right now. To be honest, my crush for the Ravens would be Zay Jones. Man this guy can catch and they could probably have him with their 2nd or even early 3rd if some teams go on a QBs run or O-Line run since this Oline draft is horrible

Guys with cannon arms fail to make it in the league on a yearly basis - especially guys with imperfect mechanics (like Kelly)

Well if you wanna talk about mechancis, Mahomes isn't in the mix and shoudlt be drafter before round 3. Peterman, Webb and Kaaya will go before them.

At the end of the day coaches think they can coach the mechanics but a kid can't learn the skills. This is a very bad QB class and some have Kaaya best rated QB... because of the touch he puts in his ball to drop it between the safety and LB its a thing of beauty. Some really love Webb I'm not the biggest fan... Peterman looks the more ready imo but he's not Pro Bowl material. Kizer should have stayed in college. Watsons got some intangibles but the reality is : teams shoudlnt draft a QB before Pick 33th.

I think Williams will be less AJ Green and more Kelvin Benjamin

Benjamin is a good comparison for what he'll be when he first enters the NFL. Though he could end up being like Brandon Marshall.

Absolutely. For me, I like to wait until AFTER the draft until I start reading up more on draft prospects (like I care who the Pack who picked in the 3rd round lol). And that's why I don't say all posters because I've see a number of posters like Sami who are consistent and won't budge.....at all lmao.

The only thing I give ESPN an edge over NFLN is the TV graphics of the teams' logos. Other from that, I'd rather listen to Mayock over the guys on ESPN. Not to say like he's perfect or whatever, but when it comes to the mid to late rounders, you can see he REALLY does his homework. As a casual fan (pertaining to college ball), I appreciate that a lot.

God, I really want to land Williams or Davis. I think both are going to be very good. Just need OJ to go first and one of them to sneak by Buffalo, Cincinnati and Tennessee.

If both Davis and Williams are gone, I wouldn't mind JuJu in the second. Just watch him in #HeyRookie and I was impressed by his character and hands. The Boldin comparison is legit as far as hands.
