With the 16th pick, the Baltimore Ravens select?

131 posts in this topic

A draft day surprise hits and Jonathan Allen takes a tumble all the way into Black & Purple. JK JK.

I'm hoping for Barnett or Williams, but this one shot vote needs pragmatism. With that being said, I'm ticked everyone beat me to the punch already. I like the odds of Cam Robinson being the pick. Bama boy, check. Versatility, check. Offensive line has been ignored for a little while and I think the FO knows we need a great one to revamp our run game and get the most out of our QB.

I have a hunch that Reddick could be our pick, but I am going with,

Cam Robinson, Final Answer.

A lot of people hate the thought of cam as the pick, but try to imagine what that does...

if cam pans out as a RT, then we would have possibly the most powerful drive blocking RT in the league. If Alex Lewis becomes RT and cam goes to LG, he is another KO type of guy, a ferocious mauler who annihilates guys off the line.

Say john urschel is at least an average center, being sandwiched between cam and yanda makes a nasty interior and hides his deficiencies.

Then when yanda retires in a few years we have a replacement beast of a mauling lineman.

Corey Davis!! Would be happy with FOSTER, Howard Njoku,Mike Williams.

not ideal but would like Lattimore,Humphrey Cook,Lawson/Tim Williams(I like Lawson/Williams a lot but would prefer round2 even if it means a trade up late round1 early round2.

Tradeback I like Cam,Bolles,Njoku,Tim Williams,Carl Lawson,Humphrey,Ross, Lattimore, a big physical good tackling cornerback with instincts and ball skills to convert FS

I agree. I actually believe with coaching and smoothing out his bad habits he could be a really good left tackle eventually. But with Stanley on left tackle Cam would be our all pro mauling Right Tackle. Bisnowaty could maybe play center. Ravens would have a smashing line. I do believe Lewis will get stronger and be a top shelf guard. Ravens could enter season

Stanley Lewis Bisnowaty Yanda Robinson.

Its not Lewis strength that concerns me, it's his high center of gravity. Don't know if he can ever be a powerful drive blocker for a man scheme. I would fully prefer cam at LG than RT

I agree not ideal but Osemele was a good drive blocker. If he gets stronger he can be at least a turn you off line kind of player. Harbaugh said he is getting stronger and growing into his frame  so we'll see

Turn and shield blockers are ideal for inside zone but it just doesn't work well in a man/power scheme

Agree on all accounts. He is perhaps the best run blocker in class and has ideal strength and size. I knock him in pass pro, but at guard, he could dominate because he doesn't have to worry about the outside speed rush.

When Cam makes the initial punch he is very effective. However, I am a huge fan of Lamp and his quick feet and balance make him so  attractive as an Option line prospect, along with a bit better versatility due to his potential to play center, but I don't think he could revive our run game the way in which I think Robinson could.

I feel like all of us with our fingers crossed for an exciting pick like Mike Williams or Corey Davis are going to be disappointed. I expect a good, but underwhelming pick like Cam Robinson or Forrest Lamp. I feel like we're looking at the Cowboys offense right now and trying to build a similar unit that can bully opposing defenses in the trenches.

Also the Alabama boys Humphrey and Foster would be likely picks if either last that long. Last year we pretty much knew the few players who could possibly be the pick, this year it could be so many different players depending how the board falls, Thursday night is going to be very interesting.

Derek Barnett will fall right into our laps

I have a sneaking suspicion this will happen as well. If he does we'll all know he's the pick before we even turn in the card, such a typical Ravens pick if he makes it to us.

I'm currently leaning towards Reddick or Barnett "if" he's there. Part of me wants Cam Robinson just for the meltdown reactions on here even though he'd probably help us out more than people think.

How dare you talk to me like that! You should tell me everything!

You are tearing me apart Cville Raven!

I don't think Conley makes it to 16 so I think Barnett will be the next great OLB for us

Ya know, the more I think about how much we can vastly improve our line, the more attractive the idea becomes.

while I would be ok with cam at 16, I still think it leaves a major hole and doesn't address the real need, center.

And I also believe that with a hefty trade back we could land one of lamp or cam, and if we can nab a late second that lets us essentially guarantee pat elflein. And still get a sexier pick at 47. A draft starting out with cam in the late 20s, a Tim williams/carl Lawson/Derek rivers/Malik McDowell/Quincy Wilson at 47, and pat elflein in the late second would be amazing. That would give us a starting OL of Stanley-cam-elflein-yanda-Lewis or swap Lewis and cam. Our run game would be instantly revitalized with a wrecking ball at center and another beast of a road grader at either RT or LG. Our line would be up there with Oakland and Cleveland with a haul like that and by the time Dixon returns we would be looking at one of the leagues best rushing attacks.

The more I think about it unless one of Corey Davis, Lattimore, Allen, Jamal Adams and/or Fournette is available to us at #16, its extremely likely we pick either Cam Robinson, Forrest Lamp or Marlon Humphrey. My money is on Cam Robinson.

Even money we trade down

I think the FO feels more comfortable at center than tackle considering we traded Zuttah when it was minimal cap savings. Not saying we are in good shape replacing him, but I just think the FO wouldn't trade Zuttah if they didn't feel some level of confidence in Urschel/Jensen/Skura as a replacement. Losing Wagner on the other hand wasn't exactly a choice.

That's a pick I don't hear too often.

My prediction is that the Ravens pass on both Barnett and Corey Davis for someone this board generally does not want, perhaps Foster or Robinson. It's last year all over again.

I don't think a trade-down happens. Teams aren't going to want to part with their 2nd and/or 3rd round picks in this draft. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, however, because unless Barnett or OJ Howard are available, trading back is my preference.

The only place we can trade down to is to #19 right before Denver because Denver is taking that guy!

I'm actually thinking there may be a sort of hand shake agreement with Mangold. A deal they both like on the table but both sides wanted to wait til after the draft. Mangold so he can enjoy a full offseason and also keep options open in case a vet goes down early in OTA's or something.

But I have a feeling he ends up a Raven.

Which imo does make the Cam pick more likely as he and Mangold would give us a big, nasty run blocking line.

Stanley-Cam/Lewis-Mangold-Yanda-Cam/Lewis..... I like that.

Grab Elflein if possible in the 3rd for the future and let one great Ohio State center help develop the next great one.

Would not be surprised to see this

I think the last time the boards were happy with a first round pick from us was 2011. Think most people liked the pick when it was made. Lots of people cooled on Jimmy of course as it took him a couple years to get going. I wasn't on here these days but I remember hearing that most fans liked him

I don't remember Upshaw being too popular(not a first rounder but first pick so figured I would throw him on here)

Elam was pretty hated

Most people liked CJ but didn't like us going  ILB at all(thought Arthur Brown was gonna be the next big thing)

Perriman was hated by almost everyone

Think some people liked Stanley but a few people myself included were against getting him, lots of discussion on that reaction thread. We will see how he develops but pretty happy with how he finished the season and fine taking the L on that one.

I feel like I've narrowed down our pick to 6 players.

Reuben Foster, Haason Reddick, Derek Barnett, Mike Williams, Corey Davis or Cam Robinson

90% confident it will be one of them. With Mike Williams and Reddick the least likely of the group.

If Barnett's on the board he's the pick.

Not quite ready to make a definitive prediction yet though.

He is going to be a beast in the category of Julio Jones! I badly want this dude to catch Flacco's rockets this year.

He's going to be a superstar. We will regret not picking him if he's there.

I would just hate taking a RT in the first with how good we are at finding gems on the offensive line in the later rounds and how well we develop most of them. I'd like to get a playmaker.

A walk down memory lane. This all describes me to a T (except I disliked the Mosley pick from a durability standpoint and not from a positional standpoint).

I'm happy any time our FO proves me wrong, however.

Upshaw was loved by virtually everyone but me. Even when around January he was touted as a top 10 pick I still said he would bust
