Your Advice to the Latest Ravens OC

Odell had 1 catch and 1 fumble with Jimmy Smith against him in the first half. Jimmy got injured and in the second half Odell had over 200 yards.

This team could've won 3-4 more games with a better corner last season.

OH I know.  I flew to NY to see the game live.  Jimmy was locking him down.  Easily at least 3 games if Jimmy is on the field, I think.

The NFL is definitely sleeping on the Ravens defense. It was #1 last season first 12 games of the season until Jimmywent down, and they just added a ton of talent via free agency and draft.

Too many "if's" on the offense, already being led by a streaky Flacco and an awful coordinator. We're betting big on Perriman and company. History has shown that we've been let down too many times. I hope Ozzie has a plan to trade for someone or a quality veteran gets cut. Our best RB is suspended for four games and we have no idea who our Right Tackle and Center is. I think our offense is going to be a dumpster fire.

And unless we score some points, the Ravens defense can be so good it holds all of its opponents to 3 points a game and we still lose each game by three points.  Who will score the points? Who are our best weapons? Who will be on the O-line when we open against the Bengals? We just lost our best receiver, our right tackle and said adios amigo to our center, remember? I think you and many others on this blog are in total denial. But wait, here's an even better scenario. We score three points a game and hold the opposition to zero points a game. The highly-touted elite defense that the NFL is sleeping on will pitch 16 consecutive shutouts. If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you in Arizona.

What talent have we added to a sluggish offense via free agency and the draft. I really want to hear your honest opinion about the FO's abysmal failure to draft any weapons for Joe going forward and how they expect to protect our franchise QB with an O-line that has more holes in it than a slice of swiss cheese. I am sure your response will be edifying. The game of football has passed by Ozzie and he has lost his status as the Wizard. Both Joe Flacco and Mike Wallace say they don't need any more weapons. C'mon man! Do you honestly believe that company line? And, what would you expect two proud professionals to say?

Some genius in an earlier post stated that if this happens and that happens, we'll have a standout year. Well, if If's and Buts were candy and nuts, what a Merry Christmas it would be. Show me the beef on offense. I wanna believe but I think the FO just screwed the pooch so to speak!!!!

You know he is a free agent after next year. If Westbrook shows well like he should. He Is as talented as any receiver in this draft. I think he is better than Ross. Then Jags could trade Lee or Hurns. Lee is a free agent and Jags maybe aren't looking to pay big money. With his recent surge he could command $9-10mil per. Jags could look to unload Hurns and his contract as well.  However he didn't look as fast and explosive last year. A good player but not one fast enough he could weather losing a step. Hurns of 2014 2015 would be great. Lee is the more skilled player however. Once injury free he began standing out in that offense. However if management is to make a move it should do so early. If Lee challenges Robinson for NO.1 WR Jags couldn't let him go then

Since we di not get Joe any weapons, lets just commit to the run, play action, and get Joe back to a game manager, ie; Alex Smith, now that we have on paper what looks to be the top defense. This philosophy should bode well, and if we can get Megatron coaxed out of retirement and into purple, all the better.

Advice: Be flexible.

Don't make a guy like Anquan Boldin run go-routes all game.

Don't waste an 'offensive weapon' like Juszczyk with 3-yard shallow routes.

Keep running the ball when we have success or it's a close game. For whatever reason, Marc Trestman refused to run the ball against the Redskins even though West finished with 95 yards on 11 carries... the final 22 offensive plays of the game were passes... and we still almost won but it shouldn't have been like that. Trestman was fired after that.
