[News] 'People Are Sleeping On' Ravens Receiver Group

Seriously? Did Mike Wallace not see the dropped passes, the poor route running, the stupid mistakes and not to mention, no one, NO ONE stepping up and taking over a game. Like Odell Becham did, like Antonio Brown did and so on and so on.

Don't believe the hype!

The Ravens receiving core was trash last season. Dropped passes, inconsistent route running, and they constantly demonstrated their inability to make plays for their QB and then to get...wait for it...."SEPARATION" from their defenders.

PLAYMAKERS PLEASE!!!!!

Boldin was our #1 when we won the SB.

Depends on how you measure "#1". In terms of targets they were basically equal. Boldin had more yardage, Torrey had more TDs.

Regardless, that would only amplify my point, given that if Boldin was our #1, he averaged about 60 yards/game and had 4 TDs for the entire regular season.

Those are much, much, much, much lower numbers than most of the "studs" he listed as players we needed to have in order to be good.

Yea terpmaniac not everyone can have a top 5 WR in this league like Antonio Brown or Odell Beckham.  So if you are going to be upset until we get one than you may have to wait a while.  Do you think Mike Wallace is going to say that that our receivers are terrible, and that they suck at running routes, and drop balls to often when a member of the media asks him what he thinks?? Seriously? We have never had a top 5 WR.  In their last few SB appearances NE has not had a top 5 WR, Seattle has not had a top 5 WR in its appearances.  Neither Odell Beckham or Antonio Brown have won a Superbowl.  And in fact neither of them has gotten close.  If you were upset that MW didn't throw his team mates under the buss when talking to the media NFL media appearances must get you pretty riled up because very rarely to coaches or players throw other coaches or players under the bus.  And because it happens so infrequently, when they do throw fellow players or coaches under the bus, its a big distraction which no NFL teams want to have.

Thank you. Not to mention that, for whatever reason, the Ravens have a horrible track record at evaluating and drafting wide receivers. Yet are great at picking up veterans with gas left in the tank and getting the most out of them. I have this life size picture of drafting this good looking kid from the MAC conference, and watching him struggle to get open against NFL level defensive backs and then 3 years from now trading comments like what ever to happened that kid we drafted at 16 in 2017? What was his name davies, Davis...?

I see your point There is a reason Wallace is on his 4th team and Boldin was on his second. Whats funny about the Ravens all three Perriman, Wallace, and Moore are "Deep Ball Receivers" Not the kind of ball Joes been throwing much since 2013.

I'm hoping this is a draft tactic to discourage WR needy/wanting teams from trading ahead of us

We do have a good receiving group it's just that the routes are lame they are not used correctly to show their skill set and Joe ball location and timing is off! "ROUTES" get WRs open and create separation and thinking a WR has to go up and always fight for the ball isn't the way to pass the rock I don't see double moves post patterns pump fakes stop and goes smh none of that! Antonio Brown wouldn't be the WR he is in our offense because of all the above! It is what it is and it starts with our QB the play calling and the routes plus the run on 1st and 2nd pass on 3rd and punt gotta go because I can figure this Offense out after the 1st play called! We just need another possession WR like Campy that's it and the next WR should be a up and coming WR with some type of speed and will wait till his number is called!

Reading these comments I see all everyone want is a big name WR and that's not what it takes it the QB and the play calling! The pats got no names it's brady and the play calling that makes their Offense work! Smh again I believe in whom we have already! If the Ravens picked WRs like the pats do some of yall fruit of the looms would be all twisted! Lol

I am also confident in the WR group. However, I am not always confident in the plays that are called and the QB wants to give me a heart attack every Sunday with some of the throws. The O line needs to protect this guy better... give him a second longer, and he could really be good.

We don't need a big name WR. We need someone that can run routes, someone that can be relied upon for big third down pick ups, someone that can make contested catches, and someone that can be a red zone presence. Breshad and Mike are great speed guys, now we need that "Q" type, that worked so well pairing with Torrey. Ju Ju Schuster Smith is exactly what we need. He's rated as the 5th or 6th best wr in this class ( which is absurd, he might be my favorite), so grabbing him in the 2nd would be SO perfect

Again, if you think the Ravens are set at WR then you haven't watched much of the competition. We are sorely lacking playmakers, we're talking about blue chip receivers that can take over a game..............not a bunch of 4th/5th rounders who's primary jobs are running back punts and covering kickoffs.

Wallace and Perriman will look incompetent if we don't add a Q/Keenan/Landry type,
if we do add a legitimate possession/3rd down/red zone wr early, then Wallace and Perriman will flourish and look amazing as deep threats and perfect complimentary pieces
I really think it will be night and day with our wr core, depending on whether we add that right guy or not ( Ju Ju!!!!!!!!!!)
-Ju Ju, Wallace, and Perriman, with Camp and Moore as the 4 and 5 is as complete and as dangerous as a wr core will get imo
- If we rely on Wallace and Breshad to clearly be on top of the depth chart, our wr core will be in big trouble. Everything has to work together. Breshad and Mike are very good pieces, but they're the quick and slippery Jelly, they need that solid and tough Peanut Butter that holds everything together!

Of course Wallace would say that. Imagine a starting running back going to a press conference and saying "yeah I think we need better RB's because we have a lack of talent".... cmon now guys where is the common sense. Just get us a top notch WR/TE!

Ever wonder why Ravens have receivers that can't run routes? Yet they do that in college. All these receivers that come to Baltimore and forget everything. Strange.

They run the routes that are designed which are lame! Routes that do not create separation
