[News] 2017 Draft Profile: LB Reuben Foster

He seems small, 6' 0" and 229 for an ILB in the NFL. One has to wonder how effective he would be at the next level unless switched to strong safety.

i wouldn't mind taking him in the second round I just think there will be better playmakers on the board when we pick

Have you ever watched him play or are you just talking based on height weight measurements? Dude is an enforcer, beast, probably one of the hardest hitters in the draft. He plays way bigger than that. Not to mention he's one of the top 2 players on the best D in college football.

If he's on the board by our pick he's 100% BPA. Yes, even over Corey Davis and Mike Williams.

Foster at 16 would be a steal. He is the epitome of what being a Raven is all about. We don't have any enforcers currently and he would put some teeth back in our defense.

The question is "Will he be on the field?" Already in Stage 1 of the the NFL drug policy (1 more failed test = 4-6 game suspension).

Numerous off-field issues (nightclub killings, hospital incident at combine, diluted drug test, etc), immaturity, bad study habits and injury questions may push him down most teams board. If a guy can't wait 2 hours in line at the hospital, what makes you think he's willing to spend countless hours in the film room in order to live up to that talent? Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.

Extremely talented but so was Rolando McClain.

Foster is an instant attitude adjustment on D.. He always comes with bad intentions and I miss that type of play in the defense. If he is there at 16, you have to pull the trigger,

I'm sure Ozzie will use his resources to find out the risk. If he gets called I won't blink an eye. Jernigan btw also had a diluted test and he never had a drug problem while here.

Also remember people, when you go to college, it is often that one period in time where you break loose and get a little crazy. If a lucrative career is dangling in front of you I think most players find ways to settle in, despite the constant fear of fans that always believe that because you smoked pot in college that you will automatically not see the field.

I agree with this. I know Ozzie and company will do plenty of research on the kid. If he is available at 16 and we don't draft him, he must come with to many red flags. If he is there, I think we will pull the trigger on him. Extremely talented and would be an absolute force on our defense beside CJ. He would bring a lot of nastiness to our defense. Tony, CJ, Weddle, B Will, Suggs, Foster....my goodness.

Rolando McClain was extremely talented, you're correct. I think the difference would be the desire to play the game. Does Foster love football enough to put it ahead of the off the field crap? I think Ozzie will find out. McClain didn't love the game enough and he was also drafted into an environment that wasn't good for his own success.
