Dean Blandino leaves NFL for FOX

3 posts in this topic

This is a major news out of the NFL office. After being given control of centralized replay in the new rule change, Dean Blandino has decided to up and leave the NFL to go work for FOX. Apparently the news came to a surprise to most at the league office, as Ed Werder of ESPN quoted someone as saying the move was "shocking" and nobody in NY even knew he was even considering leaving. Werder also said one of the reasons centralized replay was passed was because owners were confident in Blandino to do the job well and if the rule would have passed if they knew he was leaving.

Haha - they really should have made sure he was under contract before centralised replay - either way I'm happy that rule passed because that's how it should be tbh - but losing Blandino is pretty big - Goodell is really going to need some good press soon: his last few years (and most of his tenure) have been pretty awful...

3 franchises relocating

deflategate and it going to court

domestic violence suspensions (and ray rice)

marijuana policy

lower tv ratings

concussion

- the ones that eventually get him will be the niggly ones like blandino not being under contract because they are so avoidable
