Do you remember the quarterbacks you had for the last 10-20 years. Yeah he had some INT's, but against one of the best defenses in the past 40 years.

The idea of Troy Smith getting a chance is a travesty, Im suprised you don't use Troy a lot more.
I agree...I think letting anyone else start would be foolish.

I know the Big Ben comparisons are old hat, but Flaccos numbers are very similiar to Ben's in his rookie year. I think Flac certainly has the potential to be as good as Ben, who knows, maybe even better.
one quick question

Going into camp, does Troy Smith get a chance to win the starting job?
Does Sorgi get a change to win the starting job in Indy with the way Peyton choked again during the playoffs?

Couldn't agree more. Flacco did awesome all season. One game against a defense that every other QB in the league had trouble against doesn't mean a thing.

No way. He's the starter. Troy will be backing up. You don't open up a competition with a rookie QB that started all 16 games and took it to the AFC Championship game. Winning more playoff games as a rookie than any rookie ever had in the history of the NFL. He was drafted to be the franchise QB and now he already has a full 19 games under his belt.

You go into next season with Joe as the starter. There shouldn't even be a discussion about this. Any mention of a QB competition is just plain "retarded"!
I'd fault him for trying to squeeze some throws in and make plays but mostly I think the receivers jus couldn't get open.
I don't fault Flacco as much as I fault the recievers. in the first half I saw a couple plays that the recievers missed downfield which would have put momentum in our favor and probably a more favorable outcome. Half the time Flacco was forced to throw it away, check down, or force it (which didnt really end well).
All I gotta say is if we get a top-rate WR and CB then we should be super bowl bound no problem
