I think they should be ok with energy for this series. It's the ECF and possible SCF where I think they would start to feel the fatigue. Obviously the pens are a really fast team so they need to control the puck a lot against them and holtby has to be on fire. Marc andre fleury being the goalie atm for the pens is a huge advantage for you guys.

So Pitt is 8-1 in playoff series against Washington, but the Caps are 8-1 in game ones.

Pens lead 2-1 at the start of the third.

Washington has to win game 2, and I think they will. I think pens take the series in 6 though, I hope i'm wrong.

At this rate they'll take it in 4.

You're right about this being a must win game. If the Caps can't come back from this 3-1 deficit to win this match, they are all but done.

damn, 5-2 now. Holtby isn't saving a thing and MAF is a brick wall. Caps have outshot the pens in both games too. I don't see ottawa or NY stopping the pens either. At this point all we can hope for is somehow for caps to have a miracle comeback or for western conference team to beat them.

A 6-2 loss was about as bad as it gets despite Washington's furious first period.

Poor Holtby is having a terrible series with 6 goals allowed in 2 games. Grubauer didn't fare much better with 2 in less than entire period (don't know how many shots).

It's hard to picture the Caps evening things up in Pittsburgh so this series is probably lost.

If the Penguins win the Cup again I will rage-quit hockey.

Yeah honestly man, the thought of back to back pens titles is making me sick. Hopefully nashville/edmonton/st louis stop them. I know pens have a good offense but braden needs to do better. Also pens are missing letang and murray so there's no excuse on the offense side of things. You guys should get rid of trotz honestly, if you have babcock, julien, laviolette, quinvelle, the sens coach or even mike yeo you would fair so much better. Hell even AV from the rangers would do better, trotz is lost in the post season. Two wasted presidents cups, unbelievable.

Pretty easy to blame Trotz here as he has the history of playoff failures, but Holtby's poor play seems to have been the issue in both losses. Every one of pburgh's goals were saves for him during the regular season, hard to explain.

Yeah Trotz should not return next season. I'm not going to pretend like I have all the answers but I don't think the Caps decision makers will let him stay after the team has failed so spectacularly year after year like this.

It's brilliant to have back to back presidents trophies, but no one cares about them. You guys need someone who is proven in the post season or someone who at least has a plan B.

It ain't over till it's over........stranger things have happened.

Yeah, but in the NHL Playoffs the Caps are generally the victims of improbably come-backs, not the victors.

Two home losses and now we go to Pittsburgh. This really sucks. Tonight is definitely a must win game to give us any hope because the Caps are not winning four in a row. Anybody but the Pens.....ERRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

If the real Holtbeast shows up no reason to think the Caps can't turn things around.

Honestly how does this happen year after year. It's like they are a boss in a video game built up to be a big threat but then you beat them easily.

I know. The Yanks had just lost, the Orioles had just won, and I had just over 1 min to go to turn out the lights and go to sleep a happy man tonight and WHAM!

Thank god, really dumb penalty to take by daley and a bit of a softy by MAF. They need to take this momentum now and run with it. Pens are banged up even more so wash has a chance again. Just no more unnecessary choking.

The hit on Crosby seemed a little dirty to me. I want the Caps to win, but not that way.

Eh....normally I would feel bad about any player going down but he flys around all the time out of control, bound to happen. And I don't think Niskanen aimed to hit him in the head. Crosby was just falling down and it ended up in an unfortunate way.
