ROUND ONE - MALIK MCDOWELL,  MICHIGAN ST. ...EVERYWHERE/ DEFENSIVE LINE

He gives me pause, there is no question but I want someone that will keep coordinators antsy when preparing for The Ravens. He really should terrify them if we can get a guy who loves football.

You can move him to create mismatches but he is a mismatch generally. Love to see him develop inside counters on the edge. He would be simply unstoppable.

He is also THE interior pass rusher in this class, particularly in terms of upside. Brady in fetal position/ Roethlisberger throwing picks. McDowell helps our outside rush as he must be double teamed.

I'm not convinced by him as a person but I don't know him or anyone that knows him so in that sense I only have my gut to go on. I have my doubts, in honesty.

Could disappoint or he could be viewed as a guy who should have gone first overall.

ROUND TWO - PAT ELFLEIN- OHIO STATE, C/G

Smart, hard working starter at the center position year one.

ROUND THREE - AHKELLO WITHERSPOON - COLORADO

My guy at corner. Lots of things expressed about this guy already.

ROUND THREE - KAREEM HUNT - TOLEDO, RUNNING BACK

love this player as well. An even better Kenneth Dixon.

ROUND FOUR - RYAN SWITZER, NORTH CAROLINA - WR

obviously a different sort of receiver than Williams and Davis but we get similar production. Converts third downs. Crazy quick, excellent after the catch. Great hands.

ROUND FIVE - JOE MATHIS - WASHINGTON -  OLB

A Better fit at OLB than last year's two. A little bit of a poor man's Ryan Anderson at the stage. Has struggled with injuries .

Very high pressure/ sack production over small sample size. Big time pop in his hands, has bend as edge rusher...good vs the run. A good football player who to this point has been hampered by one thing or another...Big upside.

ROUND SIX -  CHANNING STRIBLING - MICHIGAN, CORNER

To me this is a steal. Good ball skills. Turns to find the ball. Willing in run support. I've always preferred him to his Michigan counterpart.

This wouldn't be a draft that would have people really, really happy on here, but it definitely seems like a realistic one to me.

McDowell can be a beast if his head is on straight, I am sure the front office has checked on his attitude. Witherspoon could be the steal of the draft in the third round. I like Elflein but not in the second, I would rather see us go for an edge rusher or receiver with that pick.

Does seem like a realistic draft that would initially leave fans very skeptical...but there is some high potential here. That being said I think we go a much safer route- esp with our first pick. We do really need some interior pass rush with bwill and Peirce being run stuffers so I def understand the logic..I just don't think we address that with our first pick.

The 2nd seems a little early for Elflein. I'm a big fan of the Witherspoon pick in the third though. The third is definitely where we need to pounce on a CB.

maybe that seems early but i imagine that's where he's going - in which case we wont land him - i dont see him falling to the 3rd in such a weak oline class - i think he's probably easily the 6th best olineman

robinson, lamp, bolles, ramcyzk, feeney then elflein

You don't think Pocic will go before Elflein? It is a very weak class.

In terms of high potential, I see all of rounds one through five as guys that either start or earn significant snaps year one.

I see both Mathis and Stribling as guys who could do the same a year after.

It's Switzer, not Strickler

Oops...not sure how that got in there. Keep calling him that for some reason.

I think teams will go for Elflien first. Pocic has the problem of being tall for an interior lineman, and thus has leverage issues. He also has subpar strength for an interior lineman. I think he might have to move to guard at the NFL level because he won't be able to matchup with nose tackles, and he's only really a fit for zone blocking schemes.

Big fan of Switzer.

This wouldn't be my ideal draft but I guess we could do worse.  McDowell seems like a slight reach at 16 though, I think we could trade back into the early-mid 20s to get him.
