Pound The Table!

100 posts in this topic

Pound the table for guys here, so it's official. Unfortunately the forums are closing so there's no way to look back unless you migrate elsewhere...

no pounding for Garrett or Allen or Adams or any completely duh prospects.

pounding the table isn't necessarily demanding the ravens draft a guy, but making a firm stance that a player will be excellent.

Im pounding the table for

Derek Barnett

 tre'davious white

Evan engram

Tim williams

Desmond king

dan feeney

TJ watt.

I think we will look back on all of these guys and say they should have went earlier than they did. I counted one character concern and one injury concern but tried my best to avoid those.

Nut up or shut up who are you officially pounding the table for?

Some of my favorites who appear to be under-the-radar-ish, but would be happy to see become Ravens.

Montravius Adams, 3T/5T, Auburn

Marcus Williams, FS, Utah

Zay Jones, WR, East Carolina

D'Onta Foreman, HB, Texas

Elijah Qualls, 3T/NT, Washington

Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado

What do you mean by make them happen?

2 second round players. It would be an either or situation really. Baker would be one for the future whereas Williams would have an immediate impact

Couldn't I make a firm stance that Garrett, Allen, or Adams will be excellent, even if the Ravens can't draft them?

Ahh I see. But Like I said in the op it's not really about the ravens, just players that you wanna basically put a stamp of approval on and firmly say you think they'll be a good player.

Bakers a guy I really like and think he's gonna be excellent, and in any other safety class he might be a top 25 guy, but I  just can't pound the table for a 5'9" db lol. Too obvious of a possible point of trouble

Where's the fun in that though?

Zay Jones will be the best WR from this draft class. *pounds table*

-And Malachi Dupre will be a good starter *pounds table less violently*

I'm going to take screenshots of what everyone says, so that we can continue the debate in the future.

barnett and sidney jones feel too obvious so ill go in a different direction

- corey davis

- gareon conley

- ahkello witherspoon

- tarrell basham

- carl lawson

- juju smith-schuster

- fabian moreau

obviously im a little worried about injuries with carl lawson and fabian moreau but otherwise i think these guys are all going to incredibly productive guys especially given where most of them are being mocked at the moment

kazee's a good one but i cant pound the table for him because he feels too boom or bust and im not sure which way it will go - likewise rasul douglas - i love watching them both on film but their play style gives me pause

I think kazee's competitiveness will keep him in the league. Thats my favourite trait of his. He showed a ton of it at the senior bowl. The passion and desire he plays with will keep him from being a bust.

He honestly reminds me of shawn oakman. Not player comparison but as a prospect

i dunno - i feel like he gambles too much - obviously that demonstrates good instincts but i feel like that's why he's boom or bust - either those instincts will translate well or his best asset will continuously put him out of position to be exploited - he often recovers well but unless you dedicate a safety behind him to his section of the field then he's maybe going to get burned too often - i still like him but id find it hard to take him before the 4th because of how boom-bust he is - i'd take him before corn elder but i think that's his range on draft day - not to shoot you down or anything because i think he's potentially a gem but i just see too high a possibility that he busts to pound the table for him myself

That feels like a bit of a lazy comp to me, no offense. Oakman played heavy footed, upright, slow handed, and made zero effort at using any kind of technique. Kpassagnon, while very raw, is light years ahead of him imo. His hand usage and bend and leverage are way better

I know we are full at TE and won't take these two in any scenario, but I'm pounding the table for Howard and Njoku.

Howard will be one of the best TE's in 2 years and Njoku, alrhough extremely young, is going to be an athletic freak at the position and make an offense go.

If I saw this early enough I would've just spoken on your behalf @allblackraven and just concur for you since I assumed you liked Stewart as well lol

I can see him going earlier but I think the 4th is where we would take him - but he could definitely go towards the end of the 3rd
