Watching that highlight video, one might wonder why we would let him go at all... I know he has had some injuries, but I have always LOVED WEBBY..... So glad he was brought back. WELCOME BACK TO THE RAVENS WEBB.

Does this mean a WR or OLB first off the draft board or still best player available? Maybe the OL from Wisconsin is in the mix.

We already knew this. Did they really have to write another article about this? SMH

We knew there were "reports".  Now it's official.

paying a backup safety 3mil + is bad management when you just invested big dollars in 2 starters over the past 2 offseasons. i just dont see the value or performance on the field, and he is injury prone. the priorities should be the GAPING holes you have at other positions. if you have plenty of cap room and it doesnt matter, ok. but there is not going to be money to sign other veterans where they are actually needed. this is an achilles heel of this front office. acquiring too many players at positions they are not needed. they are overlapping and nullifying their draft pics with overpaid veterans. viscous cycle.

Db depth is not something to be sniffed at - and this is pretty great value - think how much we paid guys like Arrington and powers and wright the last few years and tell me this isn't great value for a guy who can be the 3rd safety when Jefferson drops into the dimebacker role for example or comes in to play the nickel if we have an injury or to come in on dime packages generally to play the extra db

+ he's solid db depth especially at safety if someone goes down at either spot and the max he will cost per year is $3.5 mill... but that includes all the incentives for playing time etc.

+ the Ravens get to keep a leader in the secondary - a guy who properly knows how to play like a raven

i don't think anyone would say our secondary wasn't a need and we were still lacking serious depth which while we may be missing starters at other positions we have depth at oline, all across the dline, wr is thin but has some ok pieces, running back, tight end - positions we think of as serious needs because we lack starters like at right tackle, center, 5tech, edge and ilb but actually have some depth in a pinch with urban, kaufusi, Judon, zadarius, Correa, onwuasor, urschel and Jensen (maybe nembot and Wesley as well)

at which of those positions are there obvious solutions in free agency at this point? Players that will fill holes or upgrade spots are thin on the ground

I like Lardarius, the man. In a way I am glad that the Ravens resigned him. Nor for what he has left on the football field, but what he exemplifies as a person and the influence he will have on others around him. I just hope he has enough gas left in his tank as to not embarrass himself. He deserves better than that.
