First Round Of Cuts

16 posts in this topic

The first round of cuts has happened is there anyone on the list that surprised you ?

quarterback Drew Olson, safety Bobby Blackshire, punter Brendan Carney, long snapper Nick Leeson, cornerback Terrell Maze and running back Greg Pruitt

I was a little surprised about Greg Pruitt. Granted we have good depth at RB but Musa doesnt tend to stay healthy. Drew Olson will most likely be picked up by another team and wind up being very good for them.

wow...thanks for the post man, i havent heard anything about the Ravens Cutting anyone so Thanks!....i am very surprised by the team cutting Olson (thought he have at least until the next game b4 any decisions)....and another Suprise was Pruitt being cut also.....i thought he would make the team (personally) due to his performances in the past few games ( he seemed to be doing very well)....we'll see in the upcoming weeks on who makes the team and who gets cut

I a very hopeful of Troy Smith and want him to do the best.

I think they needed another game to figure the battle between Olson, Boller, and Smith

Also another game to figure the battle between Anderson, Smith, and Pruitt.

Expectations may have been different but performance was similiar.

Practice squad won't be announced until next week. First all of the cuts have to clear waivers.

its gonna be REAL tough for the Coaches and staff to make the Decison's on who stays and who goes BUT you can bet that there will be More than One Player, who will emerge from the rest and stand out to the Coaches...everyone is going to give it everything they got, if not then you get sent home..so expect to see players perform at a Top Quality and Play like they are Baltimore Ravens.....its going to be a VERY tough decision to make, seeing how EVERY rookie/some veteran players give it their all....play fast, play hard, play through the sweat and tears, play each and every down like its their Last...because Frankly......it could very well be

That would be stupid. Smith has too much upside and we drafted the guy in the 5th round. It's not worth it to cut a guy like Smith just so we can keep an additional special teamer who doesn't bring anything to the table or to be able to keep a guy like Moore/Darling.

not really, I'd rather have a second kicker with a hell of a leg and potential to succeed Stover in the long run than keep another Boller QB like smith

What do Boller and Smith have in common? That's like comparing Vick to Peyton Manning. I'd much rather have a [possible] future franchise QB (or even a solid backup) like Smith on my team instead of a 2nd kicker who might kick 1-2 fieldgoals this season. Besides, even Atlanta's kicker looked great yesterday. He nailed at least one that should have gone for 60 yds as well. Let's not get too crazy now.

im not crazy lol, it was the front office's decision to keep Smith so they must have trust in him. He may or may not be a Boller, but if they're going to invest time and money in him id like to see him deliver :)
