Matte black helmets

At the end of the day, I suppose the uniform doesn't truly matter.

But those helmets would be so sharp!

Ive heard other people say it for the last few years now, but we tried out yellow pants instead?

What do you think?

Can't experiment with helmets mid season unless you wrap the helmets with a decal. But yes I'd love to see it, even better I'd like to see matte black with a super reflective decal like they do in oregon

O's new matte finish batting helmets look sharp, as I think would the Ravens' helmets.

That's what I was thinking of. I think that would be cool to see with the Ravens.

it could look nice. but they need to preview it so it is not another disaster like the gold pants. very ugly!!! Those pants were so bad we never saw them again. THANK GOD!!!

I hate the matte black on the Jaguars helmet, but maybe it is because their helmets look like they were in the body shop fixing front end damage. It looks like their game started before the black primer could be wet sanded and the rest of the gold lacquer applied.

I think the gold really ruins that. If it was all matte black I think it would look better

The shield would be cool, might get in trouble again for that though. That B is just waaayyyy too generic though. Baltimore's rich history as a city has way too much flavor, I think, for such a non original or generic logo.

I've always preferred the front facing logo. It's not quite as cartoon-ish as the one presently used imo.

The "B" and flag shield are both cool and look great as uni patches, but I don't think either fit for a helmet. The present bird head is the right shape, a classic and remember that logo is on two SB rings. I don't see it changing, but matte black could happen.

I'm definitely on board with matte helmets. I would also like to see them change the number font - those numbers are ugly imo (depth effect, gold framing.. ugh). I might get booed for this, but the number font on the Steelers' "standard" jerseys is very nice - clean and minimalistic.

PS. I liked the all purple color rush this past season, should be included in the rotation.

I like some of the font. 5, 3, and 6 look horrible in this font, but 1, 4, 7, and 8 look amazing. If they overhauled a few numbers to look more balanced(like 3 is too heavy on one side, 5 is real top heavy and 6 is real bottom heavy) that would be the best move imo, also lose the depth and brighter gold with the sparkle accent like they had back in 2000. 

If we changed fonts completely, I'd like the broncos or the traditional style, but the traditional style would need a full uniform overhaul.

Some college football teams have multiple helmets all different looks and colors I would kind of like to see this and throw in the matte black as one of them.

Just have it to where people players / coaches /management and fans get to vote on them instead of a situation like hey guess what guys were trying a new look and it becomes another gold pants debacle.

I have seen the Steelers wear a yellow helmet once in a while, so maybe we can put a color change into the rotation for a game or two during the season. I don't know if the NFL has strict rules on this though.

Hadn't thought of that, might be easier. The depth effect is definitely my biggest peeve, closely followed by the gold outline. I wouldn't be opposed to a major overhaul, I've grown a bit tired of the current look.

Denver's font is aight but I still prefer Pittburgh's.

I love the gold outline, but I liked it better back in the day when it was lighter and had a sheer to it, now it's a dull mustard color, if it was the old gold trim we had then those gold pants to match would've looked nice. I agree with the "uneven-ness" - looks cartoon'ish in a way.

No talks at all. 

And the unis were essentially the same. The gold trim was just lighter. There was a limited edition ravens jersey that was white with gold shoulders(fan only, never worn in game) and that shade of gold lets you see it more easily

this is rod Woodsons old jersey. This close up kinda highlights the difference. The gold used to be more "gold" and regal looking, if you look at our New Jersey's you'll see they have more of a mustard color. 

I personally loved the old gold trim and the new mustard color I find pretty horrible
