Who goes in the top 15, and what guy or two guys will be on the top ones left for the Ravens

18 posts in this topic

Thought this could make for an interesting thread. Basically, who do you think will go in the top 15, and which one or two guys will be left on the top of the Ravens' board.

Round 1 pick 1: Browns: Myles Garrett, edge

Pick 2: 49ers: Jamal Adams, S

Pick 3: Bears: Marshon Lattimore, CB

Pick 4: Jaguars: Solomon Thomas, DT/DE

Pick 5: Titans: Malik Hooker, S

Pick 6: Jets: OJ Howard, TE

Pick 7: Chargers: Jonathan Allen, DE

Pick 8: Panthers: Leonard Fournette, RB

Pick 9: Bengals: Rueben Foster, LB

Pick 10: Bills: Mike Williams, WR

Pick 11: Saints: Haason Reddick, OLB

Pick 12: Browns: Michael Trubisky, QB

Pick 13: Cardinals: Patrick Mahomes II, QB

Pick 14: Eagles: Quincy Wilson, CB

Pick 15: Colts: Ryan Ramczyk, OT

If this happens, then I think Corey Davis or John Ross will be the pick; it just depends on if the smokescreen was a bluff or a double bluff where DeCosta just told the truth thinking people would think it's a bluff. So, who do you see going ahead of the Ravens?

I mean unless I'm misreading your board I sprint up there to grab Barnett at 16 and am happier for it.

I knew I forgot someone. Yeah, Barnett would also be a top option in this case.

Lol ya Barnett all day in this cenario, the picks from 11-15 look very questionable to say the least

Well:
11: The Saints need an all around play maker on defense, and Reddick fits that bill. Though they could go Barnett too.
12: At the end of the day, all the potential in the world gets you nowhere if you don't have a QB. I think the Browns know this.
13: The Cards love having a vertical passing game, but have a 37 year old QB. I'm not a big fan of Mahomes, but they've got good coaches and are in a position where he could sit for a year and work on polishing his mechanics. It makes sense for them, and allows them to have a smooth transition to a new QB after next season.
14: The Eagles lost both their starting corners. They brought in Robinson, but it's not like he can cover both sides of the field and the nickle at the same time. They need corners in the worst way.
15: It's the Colts. They always need o-line help, and he's the best tackle you're probably going to get in this draft.

Why couldn't it be a triple bluff in that the Ravens are not interested in a first round receiver at all??

The Saints wouldn't pick Reddick if Barnett is available imho.

I think you can definitely make a case for the Saints picking Reddick over Barnett.

In my eyes, these are the guys that should definitely go before 16:

Myles Garrett, Solomon Thomas, Malik Hooker, Jamal Adams, Leonard Fournette, Marshon Lattimore, OJ Howard, Reuben Foster, and Jonathan Allen (pending health).

That would leave us with the possibility of the following (guys I think will go in this range, not necessarily my favorites or guys I think the Ravens would pick):

Derek Barnett, Haason Reddick, Corey Davis, John Ross, Mike Williams, Ryan Ramczyk, Gareon Conley, Mitchell Trubisky

Obviously, there would be a couple there that you hope go before we're up, but I think we're in a pretty good position.  And as always, there will likely be someone that goes in the early teens that you don't expect right now.

I think Trubisky is a pretty good lock to go top 15.

If Allen's shoulder injury is enough to knock him out of the top 3 I don't know how he wouldn't fall further. Easily the second best player in the draft.

If the shoulder is bad enough that 49ers or bears don't pick him he'll likely fall to bottom half of the first is wager

I couldn't see the saints passing on him, they need the most elite player they can possibly find for the front seven and Allen blows everyone else out of the water

I think the guys guaranteed to go before us are:

Myles Garret

Jonathan Allen

Jamal Adams

Malik Hooker

Marshon Lattimore

Solomon Thomas

Then there's a group that I'd say are almost guaranteed to be gone, but there is a small chance or odd scenario where they could fall and one is there (and almost no way more than one of these would be available):

Leonard Fournette

OJ Howard

Rueben Foster

Mike Williams

Then a group that very well could go ahead and are prob top 15 type players, but have a decent chance to be there:

Derek Barnett

Corey Davis

Haason Reddick

And then finally the group of players (x-factor types or guys who the media are all over the place on, are raw but have elite traits, elite talents with red flags, reaches for need, injury concerns, or guys that someone top 15 falls in love with) that could be the reason a guy from group 2 is available or makes multiple from group 3:

Mitch Trubisky, Deshuan Watson, Patrick Mahomes, Deshon Kizer

Gareon Conley, Tre White, Marlon Humphrey

Dalvin Cook, Joe Mixon, Christian McCaffery

Jabrill Peppers

Ryan Ramczyk, Forrest Lamp, Garret Bolles, Cam Robinson

Takk McKinley, Taco Charlton, Tim Williams

John Ross

I don't think he'll even get that far but I'll play. If his injury is enough that someone like the bears take him of his board because docs feel you night only get 2 or 3 years from him, would you pick that player in the top half of the first round? I know if the ravens did and it came out docs said you won't see the end of his contract I'd be livid if we took him.

On the other hand if doctors say you'll get 8 years from him he won't fall outside the top 3

I've always felt that way about these guys. If a first overall talent falls out of the top 5 because of injuries, then clearly the doctors know more about his injury than the average fan, I wouldn't wanna touch him.

The saints though are so desperate for an impact up front, they'd be hard pressed to pass up that short term

Maybe they would take the gamble on him. I'm just not sure if he has the degenerative shoulder injury and he falls outside the top 5 he could just keep tumbling

Absolutely not- first of all Ross wouldn't even be a consideration. In this particular scenario I think Davis would give us some initial pause - but Barnett would be the pick without question.
