Looks like the Eagles are looking forward. Wish we would.

Even though The Ravens don't run  a pure 4-3 defense but instead  a 4-3 under or hybrid 3-4 defense I don't think Jernigan being completely truthfully with this statement. I don't know how often he was asked to rush the passer on other downs but on obvious passing downs this guy is asked to get after the passer. He  has a  opportunity to do it more often with The Eagles but to say this is his first time ever being told to "Go" doesn't makes sense to me unless he said this his first time being told to so consistently .

...and it's funny him saying "everywhere" like he played for 3 different colleges and 5 NFL teams.

I mean...high school, college, the Ravens, I don't see the problem here.

I've given this more thought... And.

What the hell were we thinking? He was our best pass rusher last season and a good run defender as well. Inconsistent as all hell? I'll give you that. He's not good enough to be a #1 pass rusher, hell I don't see him as a #2, but he was our best interior pass rusher by far. And not to mention we gave a boatload of money to a run stuffer who plays 80% of the snaps and that's it? I've loved all the other moves except the two on the dline. Adding Tony Jefferson gives us an identity on the defensive side of the ball, adding Carr brings some stability. Retaining Webb gives us a lot of good depth and potentially helps out versatility wise.

But it's one step forward and two steps back. It's a genius idea to trade away our best source of interior pressure for a move up in the draft while giving up a third rounder of our own(sarcasm).

All the meanwhile we've esentially destroyed the trenches on both sides of the ball with an upcoming draft class that's honestly piss poor in terms of talent on both sides.

Seriosuly, what the hell are we doing? I wasn't angry over the Boldin trade, I wasn't angry over Zuttah. But this pisses me off to no end because he's young, and I think we picked the wrong dlinemen to retain long-term. Jernigan is inconsistent, but when he's on, he's on.

Sure, you could argue that Bronson, Henry, and Pierce might be more than capable replacements, but I'd rather have stability. Ozzie goes out and does a damn good job with the secondary, but does absolutely nothing to fix our pass rush, and fix our offensive lien. Rather, he pays the wrong guy in Brandon Williams when we had a more than capable replacement in the wings with Pierce, who we clearly value given that he's likely the one who's gonna replace Jernigan, and trades away the starting center, let's the RT walk away, and does NOTHING to fix either line. And I don't trust any of these damn draft prospects not named Forrest Lamp on the oline.

Sorry, but I will not be surprised of Ozzie is canned next season: contreversial but true. I've had it up to here with him personally. I've like a few of his moves, but all in all he needs to get his head of his butt and fix these damn problems, rather than going out and retaining the wrong guy in Williams and neglecting to address our biggest need by far.

Screw you Ozzie. This trade is horrible.

man, some people are valuing jernigan way too highly lol.

he could be DPOY next year and id still be ok with it, because either way its a one year rental, get a high 3rd now when the 3rd is packed with talent, or get a late 3rd 2 years from now in exchange for one year of play.

literally the only way i could see it as a bad move, is if jernigan would have literally been the difference between winning a super bowl this year or not. would jernigan have been dominant for a year here? probably not, probably another inconsistent year, but even if he was absolutely stellar all year long, do we win a super bowl in 2017 largely due a dominant performance by jernigan? i highly doubt that. in that case, i would prefer we get literally anything for him better than the POSSIBLE 3rd round comp 2 years from now.

never have been, and never will be a fan of one year rentals unless its a much needed stop gap required for us to compete. boldin wouldve been gone after a year and with a 7mil cap figure, the obvious move was to unload him for a late pick. jernigan wouldve been gone after a year and at the very best he gets us a 3rd comp, more likely a 4th, so instead of a one year rental which ultimately leads to nothing, we get some return for him.

Great trade.  Have plenty of young guys to rotate and there was no way he was resigning after this year.  Could possibly get a solid player on a rookie deal because of this trade.  Curious to see what kind of deal he gets next year, and what round comp pick he generates. Not to mention the best part of the trade: more Pierce.

I'm not angry about trade unless Jerney gets double digit sacks. When defense has to keep him from QB isn't that keeping linebackers clean? If he doesn't play any better then he looks bad.
