I guess we should know who the preseason opponents are going to be in the next week or so. That usually is announced a couple of weeks before the regular season schedule. Road trip to Tennessee will be a great weekend.

Last year we had 2 of our first 3 games on the road but it looks like this year it may play out differently. The Orioles are on the road the first two Sundays of the season and we head to London, for game number 3. I would love to open up two straight a home but for the love of God if I see the Bengals at the end of the list my head will explode.

There seem to be schedule-related wishes we have been coming to expect - secretly knowing they won't come true... These include:

- A home MNF game
- An MNF game v the steelers
- A Week#17 game v the steelers
- NO Week#17 road game in Cincinatti

I hope that at least the positive "custom" of getting a mid-schedule bye won't be broken.

Not as if it was anything close to crucial - or even really important - but could anyone explain to me why a tightly run organization that seems to be well organized and strong on scheduling events, still cannot assign a definite date for releasing the schedule? Why do they make it seem like there are factors they cannot foresee? There aren't. The schedule could already be ready now. What is this "it will be ready SOMETIME the coming weeks" approach? It always sounds like they're saing "OK,we know we should make the schedule some time around now, we'll see to it at some point."

I hate it when the news is about when they THINK the schedule is goiung to be relased. This is a textbook example of no-news - and it still makes the news on a regular basis...

I hope they gives us the Browns in Week 17 at home so it makes it a little easier for ourselves.

Short answer... its hard. They have to plan around other sports schedules, look for travel logistics, AND simultaneously attempt (not guaranteed) to make it so that 32 NFL teams have reasonable travel schedules... all while taking into account network demands and promoting certain games in certain timeslots. They also have to manage bye weeks.

Frankly, if the average Joe Schmo attempted to do this, it would take weeks or months and it still probably wouldn't be anywhere close to being right.

Think of it this way... there's plenty of fans who whine and complain about the unfairness of EVERY teams schedule, including our own. And that's AFTER the league probably spent weeks or even months putting it together. Imagine what would happen if they shorten the amount of time put into it?

Wish list:

1. Bengals at home on TNF
2. Week 17 vs the browns on the road
3. MNF game vs the Steelers at home
4. SNF vs the packers.
5. Front loaded away games and finish the season off with home games.

I don't understand why people want to play the Steelers at home on MNF. For starters, most people hate the late games, since you're waiting around all day for it to play then have to stay up til midnight for it to end (on a work night for most people).

Most importantly, unless we have a bye the following week (which is unlikely), I have zero interest in playing another team on a short week after the Steelers game.

Its almost as bad as playing them on a Thursday night after a Sunday game. Hate the idea of only three days off before playing a physical game.

You can speak for yourself, i myself love Monday night games and i am willing to stay up for a late game of this magnitude. With a MNF game that gives us Ravens fans an opportunity to watch other games on Sunday that we would tend to miss because the Ravens are playing. Sorry if 11:30 is past your bedtime buddy.

Or you could just play it in the late slate on Sunday, or on Sunday night, which has become common.

I like how you brushed off the main point of them having to play another opponent on a short week following that. Could easily be a road game too.

Sounds like a great idea. Lets play a MNF home game in mid or late season against the Steelers, then play a road game the following week on Sunday afternoon. I'm sure the team will be in great shape for that one, given how great we play on the road typically and how much more energy and health we have the week after a Steelers game. Certainly no concerns there.

Sounds like you're really looking out for what's in the teams best interest on this one. God forbid if you aren't able to watch other teams play (if only there were a device that allowed you to record and watch live events later?).

I really don't care about a short week. Every team goes through it, there isnt a perfect schedule out there for anybody. You play to win the game and move onto the next week.

I would rather play the steelers on MNF since we have an extra day to prepare. That is a much better option then to play another team on MNF and have a short week to play the Steelers on a Sunday. You see it just doesn't matter. You are so caught up on typically this and most people that, blah blah blah.

It sounds like a great idea to me :)

You don't care about a short week because you aren't the one playing. The "I don't care" mantra of another fan that thinks the players owe it to them just because they root for the team. SMH

Every team goes through it ONCE when they play on Thursday night football.

Not every team plays on MNF, and those that don't are not going through it and are probably better off for it.

You summed it up perfectly. Its a great idea to YOU.

Only one problem of course... the Ravens aren't seeking your counsel for what is best for them or even what is best for you as a fan, because they don't care.

Great lesson for all the kids posting on these boards. Best to look out for the actual product instead of looking out for whatever it is that you personally want.

Listen to yourself. If my opinion doesn't matter, then why does yours? i am not trying to counsel anybody i just stated my opinion you fool. The team doesnt owe me anything, you are right. And i dont owe them anything as well. I spend quite a bit of money and time invested in this team so if i prefer to have them play a MNF game against a particular team then so be it.

Like i said earlier, like it or not, I would love a MNF game vs the Steelers.

You can keep taking shots at me but at the end of the day there are probably many people on this board that feel the same way.

Davis is an awesome 1Bman. Williams is an awesome coach. And who the heck is Myron Medcalf?

I personally hate all Thursday night and Monday night games because I do not pay for cable or satellite and until the nfl starts streaming games live I don't get to see any of them.

LOL, because mine isn't an opinion. Mine is a reflection of how NFL players and teams view these types of games. We know this because they publicly acknowledge it on almost an annual basis. They hate Thursday games. They hate Monday games. We all know this at this point.

And obviously there's a very large difference between expressing an opinion that benefits yourself and your own personal wishes and expressing an opinion that would actually benefit the team more by a wide margin. The difference there displays the difference in what kind of fan you are and what kind of fan you want to be.

Obviously the amount of money or time you invest is irrelevant, because all that buys you is entertainment. It doesn't buy you entertainment when and where you choose to have it. Nothing more and nothing less.

They are streamed. You just have to find a website that streams them. Its usually a European website. I would recommend looking over a forum dedicated to this type of thing when the season starts. Just make sure you have a really good anti-virus program or use safari. Using mac safari with an good antivirus program is probably your best bet. Im really not in know when it comes to computer security, so its probably best to use the forum that you found the site on to asked what the best practices is. Or ask someone who specializes in that type of thing. I've been doing it for years on my Mac with antivirus software and I have never had any problems.

I think he is the guy that comes up with the QBR percentages

Probably has a lot to do with teams that share stadiums, or parking, or have multiple franchises in one city.  Fluidity in scheduling may be due to fluidity in other dependencies.

Is y'all actually arguing about a time of a game? C'mon now. If "Tdot" like having MNF, SNF, or TNF games, then he likes them. I like them too. What's wrong having a opinion of who he want to face in those prime time games?

Correct. The entire month of September is an exercise in trying to avoid having a baseball team and a football team playing in the same city at the same time, which affects the majority of both sports cities.

Sure 👍. Most of time, people will try to make a argument of little things what you post when it's really unnecessary.
