[News] Ravens' Expectation Is To Win 'Multiple' Super Bowls With Joe Flacco

52 posts in this topic

I expect multiple superbowls too from Harbaugh/Flacco era..

But you gotta get back to Ravens football. Ravens Smashmouth identity. Ground and pound, playaction deep pass style game, not sling it 45x a game like last year and when Joe lead nfl in passing attempts.

Please tell me why everyone is soooo optimistic about Flacco next year. He has regressed steadily and last season was the worst. Assuming the "weapons" they hopefully/eventually provide him are reasonably good (bad track record though Ozzie, yes!!??!), there is still no guarantee his accuracy will improve. And with the same OC, potential dead-man walking, well, it could be deja-vu all over again!
Don't get me wrong - I hope I am wrong; HOWEVER, my rose-colored glasses are missing.

Joe should have 3 Super Bowls! But noooooooooooooooooo he tried to get a pass off before Troy Polomalu strip the ball out his hand costing us a trip against the Cardinals and a very very very bad pass against the pats costing us another Super Bowl against the Seahawks because Justin had a monster day and throwing to the endzone and maybe depending on your banged up secondary to stop Brady would have been pointless! I thought Joe could get 5 rings with us but he disappointed me big time! Ozzie and Co. are working their tails off keeping good players on this team year after year but it all falls on the QB! And throwing the O line under the bus is getting old! Smh multiple Super Bowls we should have FOUR! Bring facts to the table if you think different!

You forgot the Lee Evans/Billy Cundiff fiasco and the Boldin dropped pass - both money passes by Flacco.

I see no mention of the pass Lee Evans didn't hold on to in the end zone in the AFC Title Game against the Pats. Right on the money. Dropped. Cundiff misses the FG. Every team has plays for the example you gave. "IF" Russell Wilson doesn't throw and interception the Seahawks win the Super Bowl. "IF" Eli doesn't escape out of the pocket and "IF" David Tyree doesn't make a great catch the Pats win the Super Bowl. That's only two "IF" facts but I could go on and on.....

How can I forget?! Lee Evans got stripped and a bullet to Boldin chest! Cundiff is another story! Lol

i fully expect joe to take charge of the offense

What does that even mean. Its going to be his tenth season in the league. if you don't think he has taken charge of the offense yet, than he isn't going to.

It can be done but the play making needs to improve along with the play calling

Absolutely agree. A few other things will help immensely- keeping the same OC, just so the pass play and blocking schemes can remain intact. Next improve the running game- big plays and yds per down, first downs and TD's. Reduce penalties and lastly increase time of possession. Do those things and this team has a shot at the trophy.

No more jokes please. Can't even make the playoffs with average Joe and we're talking of multiple SBs. Bad teams always yap the most in the off-season, but when the season starts and the losing inevitably starts, they go silent. I see the pattern; after every unsuccessful season, you pacify me by making baseless predictions of how we're going 'all the way' the next season. How do you know this? Where are the drastic changes that'll guarantee this turnaround? You're just gonna set me up for more disappointment with all this talk of greatness with a below average team, huh? Ok.

Joe needs to do more because he is the QB. That being said when a ball hits the WR/TE/RB in the hands he has to catch it that's what he is getting paid to do.

Joe has out played Tom Brady on more than 1 occasion and the Ravens have still come away with a loss. It is a team sport but I am expecting more from Flacco. He has got to play like post-season Flacco  through out the season and into post season. I am expecting lots from Wallace and Perriman as well they need to bring it if we are to go back to the playoffs.

And don't forget a drop by Houshmandzadeh to end a season. And I think it was Mark Clayton who was hit in the chest and dropped a pass to end another season.

And i also believe if Torrey had fought for the ball, he could have at least prevented a crucial interception by the Patriots.

So there's 4 or 5 seasons where Flacco gets the blame but it was not his fault.

So if Torrey caught the ball you want our banged up secondary to save the day?! Smh Joe had the entire left side of the field to run the ball and run down the clock PLUS they played Joe putting the CB up on Torrey and Joe saw it and the safety waited and got Torrey into over and under coverage! They showed the view from behind Joe on SB Nation and it was a very very very bad pass! Bmore. Com will not show that angle! Things we missed did not air! Smh

Isn't being a Ravens fan great. When you want some extra motivation for your team just mention Flacco and Elite. Does wonders, even all these years later.

I can see them as a playoff team this year, but in 2018 l could really see them as a Super Bowl contender. With over 30M+ in cap space which we will have next offseason, we could be focus on uprading the offense more in free agency. We already upgraded the defense this year so if we upgrade the offense next year, it could be scary for everybody. 👍

Who ever wrote that story needs to see a shrink real fast!!!! Not with what we have for a QB. They must be dreaming about the one we hope to draft SOON!!!!

First he needs to reduce his absolutely absurd $25m cap number. He's not worth a nickel over $18m (about what E Manning's number is). His production does not warrant anything more, I don't care what his postseason numbers say, he's not going to get there.

Not going to happen. Ravens can't afford great players anymore. Bad drafts, bad contracts, and bad coaches. It took John 5 years with Ray to make the SB and it will take 5 years without Ray to get fired.

In recent memory there hasn't been ONE starting QB that has ever taken less money than the agreed upon amount in his contract. Im not sure why that is so hard to understand for some people. Joe is not going to set a new precedent by agreeing to a pay cut. Mike Glennon just signed a "prove it" deal with the Bears. Even if he plays terribly and get cut next offseason, he is still going to get 19 million for this year.  And he is a guy that has thrown only 11 passes since 2015. Joe's cap hit is $22,550,000. He is not going to take a pay cut. Continuing to bring it up in the comment section as if it is something that happens all the time, is not going to increase the chances of it happening. I know this truth may come as a shock. I suggest that you let it marinate in your head for a few days to ensure that it is stored in your long term memory.

There’s been much discussion about Flacco this offseason after he posted the 24th-best quarterback rating (83.5) in the league last year.....

I'm still waiting....I'm still waiting..(Talking Heads)

Cool, because his salary is $6M this year, so he's well below that.

Now all we have to work on is getting fans to actually understand what they're talking about in terms of the salary cap, and everything will be fine. There's a large learning curve that needs to happen there, and it needs to happen fast.

And FYI, Eli's cap hit is $19.7M for 2017, and was $24.2M last season.

Eli actually made $18M last season, but that's certainly not what his cap number is, because they're not the same. I guess you missed the part where he made $37M the year before.
