Got a real good feeling about KC and they need to let him play instead of wasting money! Can't learn a thing on the sidelines and if Ozzie and Co. picked him he will do the dang thang! Let him play let him play let him play!

I believe between him and Patrick we will be just fine and not have to waste money or a pick on ILB this year. I just hope that they stop trying to slide KC out and let him stay inside, when we drafted him I knew immediately he would fail if they put him at OLB. I dont know if its Pees or Harbs but they have been doing a horrible job with switching guys around so much trying to make them learn everything instead of just letting them do what they have been doing all their life.

KC has never played ILB or OLB ever in his life. He was a defensive end his entire college career. He's definitely too small to play a DE in the 3-4, so you have to move him around to find out where he fits the best....That's pretty typical with every team in the league that drafts "tweener" players on defense.

It was strange to see the kid not play at all, after all the Mini-Camp and Training Camp articles about constantly being impressive with his motor and activity.

Its almost like he went downhill right after that scuffle that left Pitta with an injured hand.

Regardless they better play Correa somewhere and don't just waste the pick entirely like with Arthur Brown who never saw the light of day.

Honestly the moment I read about them having Correa practice and learn both OLB and ILB I envisioned them screwing him up similar to Kruger.

Anyone remember how Kruger went from DE to OLB back and forth for several years.  Forcing the guy to put on extra weight then lose weight and work on quickness.

I mean let the player get acclimated to the NFL in general before trying to teach them multiple positions and overloading them.

Its not going to be front page Ravens news, Some of us were at the open camp last year, saw him get in the fights, basically get removed from practice and things seemed to go wrong from there. The last place you want to have "on the field problems" is in your own camp, especially as a rookie. The kid had some growing to do, lets just leave it at that. So its a new year, a new beginning and he has grown as a Raven. Its time to earn respect on the field, in the position and show the talent that he has. I think the young player has talent. Looking forward to a new season and good things from him.

Personally, I thought KC's problem was learning the defensive schemes and that's what kept him off the field.  He has all of the physical attributes but if the problem is above his shoulders he'll never see the field.

I don't no. When he was in the game he had trouble fighting off blocks and got overwhelmed at times. It could be a playbook issue, although last year an article said the Ravens were surprised at how fast he picked things up, Of course they also made it seem like he was going to be a big contributor. So the he picked up things line could also be an exaggeration.

Nothing like Arthur Brown! KC will shine and he and CJ will Wreak Havoc together setting a tone! Something about KC I keep seeing Ray Lewis type things and it's stuck in my head since I saw his highlights!

Second rounders are usually players that are NFL ready but don't have much upside or have a great upside and not even close to beiNFL ready. Correa was the latter. All the reports on him are that he needs development but his potential is crazy if he reaches it.

it doesn't concern me that he didn't start last year because it was expected. We just got a little excited and wanted him to start right away when that really wasn't the plan to start with.

Your absolutely right when it comes to screwing it up for the guy by teaching him 2 positions before he masters either one. Correa has a high motor and an insane first step. coverage was never his strength in college and for that I'm extremely concerned that our FO is trying to force him into playing ILB full time.

I wished that he practiced OLB purely because between him Suggs and Judon, wed have a nice fight for playing time for specific situations.

I wonder where all this sudden confidence comes from, when even his position coach told last year that Correa isn't 100% committed to playing football.

It all starts with commitment to your craft and even then nothing is given. So until he shows some commitment, this "very confident" talk is just some more pointless warm breath out of Harbaugh's mouth.

I hope KC is ready to be the best player he could be. I would also like to see if KC can change his number to 56 because that number would look good on him. Jefferson should've gotten 23. It would've been cool to have Mosley 57 and KC 56 while Weddle 32 and Jefferson 23. 👍 If KC is not ready and somehow Zach Brown still available after the draft, it could be wise to take a look because l don't think it counts as a Comp pick signing l believe at that time. Not exactly sure if that's how it goes, but l remember that Jamison Hensley say something about that in one of his espn articles.

KC can't show you anything if he isn't on the field! And all this confidence comes from being picked by Ozzie and Co.!

Thanks for proving my point, brah. In that there should be no boost in noones confidence until KC shows improvement, even on the practice field. And that won't happen any time soon.

But you are correct in that getting picked by Ozzie early gives an above average dose of confidence in a young player. It was the case with KC as well. But all that confidence in him was washed down the drain when he blew it by being an absolute non-factor in his rookie campaign. Arthur Brown would be proud of him, though.

KC's talent was never the issue for his rookie season. The learning of trying to learn two positions overwhelmed him. Also him getting in a fight with Pitta probably caused some negative actions against him and affected him socially. I think he was completely out of his element in his rookie season. With another year to mature and get comfortable, I think he will come into the summer with a completely different mindset and knowledge of the game. KC has game. He just needs to fit in first.

I think he will do better this year, but to say that he displayed the physical talent needed to compete in this league is a stretch.  He was constantly overwhelmed by blockers.  And this isn't a high school locker room the skirmish with Pitta wasn't as big of a deal as you are making it seem.

Another player selected under the new Ravens rules: 1) academic scholar 2) goes to church 3 times a day 3) "high motor" -- another phrase for "lacks talent but tries really, really hard"

can anyone tell me why Zac Orr retired?   Down in Texas I struggle to get Ravens news.  But this was a shocker.   Orr and Mosley were the best pair of inside linebackers football has seen in years.  And were set to be a pair of pro bowlers for years.

Orr suffered a "stinger" in the Pittsburgh game. During the evaluation of that injury a congenital defect was found in his cervical vertebrae (neck) that put him at risk for a serious neck injury that could result in paralysis or worse. He was advised by the doctors to never play football again and to consider himself lucky he hadn't been seveerly injured.

IMO the success of the defense this year will largely depend on both Kafusi and Correa stepping up and playing well. This would give us much needed talent and depth in the front seven. We should get some help in the draft as Ozzie usually finds quality defensive players in the middle and late rounds. We desperately need a pass rusher and another outside LB. Suggs should retire and Z. Smith needs to really step up. Signing Williams to join Pierce and Jernigan up front was HUGE!! This could be a real good defense if Jimmy Smith stays healthy and Kafusi and Correa play up to expectations.

Please elaborate on this for me.   Because I don't see how you watched his college highlights of him at DE and you saw Ray Lewis type things...

He wasn't getting the defense into position, or having to run sideline to sideline.   I'll give the energy he displayed after making a tackle for loss..

When I watched his highlights made me picture him as versatile player like a Roosevelt Colvin or Karlos Dansby type, 2 guys that always left it on the field, and eventually played multiple positions within a defense

I gotta admit I was really put off that they didn't play him at OLB, especially early last year when Doom was out and A majority of the snaps was going to McClellan.

I just want to see Correa have a solid year and I really hope Z.Smith improves his strength and technique because he regressed imo.

Thank you.  I was clueless.   I'm glad for the young man they found it before a serious injury. But he worked so hard for his dream.  Nobody gave him a job he took it all the way to the pro bowl and leading tackler by a mile.  I hate to see him work so hard only to have that taken away as he was ascending tp the pinnacle of his game.  I'll keep him in my thoughts.  I doubt that matters much, but the Raven follow almost all their former players they are the kind of family once a Raven always a Raven, the Raiders bragged about being but never really were.   I really appreciate you taking the time to update me.   And Zach Fair Winds And Following Seas.
