Jacq's first mock since forever

1) TJ Watt

wisconsin-tj-watt.jpg?itok=P_UhAMFE

Watt still doesn't get credit for how good he has been this season. To get 11.5 sacks when you're asked to do so many things outside of rushing the passer is nothing short of impressive. When he rushes, he is absolutely great. He wins with motor, elite hand placement, leverage, twitch and good enough bend. His short area quickness turns OTs into turnstile and I don't see him not translating if his knees are OK and if he's used well.

2) Pat Elflein

Elflein has owned the 2nd pick more than any other player when I was imaginating mocks during the year. He is a Day one starter that adds strength, versatility, polish, smartness and leadership to our OL. He is absolutely needed on this football team.

3) Desmond King

635814605857789445-KING-PITT.jpg

A few weeks ago, King said he felt like the Ravens would be a great fit for him, and while I didn't see it at first, now I completely agree. After the addition of Carr and Jefferson, we basically need some depth. How about a player that can be lined up as a FS, SS, in the slot or on the outside, and play CB in a zone or press. King is a physical player that will make an impact very early because he can help us in an infinity of ways.

3b) Isaiah Ford

I was actually happy that he didn't run fast at the Combine because it's going to prevent teams  from realizing he's a great prospect. Ford has all the makings to be at least a very good WR2 in the NFL, from body control to ball skills and attitude, and to be able to snatch him at this point is the definition of a steal. Need meets value.

4) Adam Bisnowaty

adam-bisnowaty-of-the-pittsburgh-panther

Bisnowaty is one of the best bargain at OT in this draft, as he has the mobility and the anchor to be a good pass protector, with the nastyness and the leverage to get some push in the run game. I don't expect him to be an All World, but I don't think the dropoff between Wagner and him is going to be too big which is a win for a 4th rounder.

5)  Wayne Gallman

3521404-980x.jpg

Gallman is a bit on thin for the NFL but I love his ability to tire defenses and always keep his feet moving. He's a quick runner and has great vision. He needs to progress with ball security, pass pro, gain some muscle and improve some little parts of his game but I really expect him to contribute when his number is called and potentially become a workhorse back. He ran slow at the combine but he is a terror in space, and in the 5th round he's typically the type of bargain that I love.

I'll stop here, not much sense going to the last two rounds where it's usually madness, but I guess a little DL help would be nice too. Have fun with the comments!

What I like about this mock is that it is extremely realistic and each player imo would not slide to your next pick.

Personally I might have went offense 1st but the way covered it works by getting an interior lineman and a tackle and you could easily substitute Feeney if Elflein not available. Both could move to center. Bisnowaty would add to a very interesting battle at RT in the offseason.

Watt seems to be rising lately and imo he's gonna get better and at one time I would have said this is a major reach but I don't now. I really like the idea of Suggs,Judon and Watt out on the field in pass situations. I think his pass coverage abilities need work.

The pick I really like is the Ford pick cuz it seems like he's really fallen off the face of the earth. I've kicked back and have watched some Va Tech games and this dude was always making plays. Great route runner with extremely great balance especially on the sidelines making 2 FT CATCHES where you don't even have to do this in college!

The King pick I'm a little squirrely on but I have to admit I don't know much about the guy except that he's pretty much slotted here but does he have enough speed to cover on the outside and how is his balance and change of direction ability. Have not seen tape and I don't recall watching any Iowa games. I know I'd be neglecting the secondary but I'd like to see a guy like Anzalone here a guy that can play ILB or SLB and has excellent coverage ability handling TE's and RB's in coverage and has beautiful form in wrapping up.

Also like the Gallman pick. He's been a workhorse but I just don't think he's gonna be there but he might. Lot of good talent at RB.

The 6th rd is the only one you didn't do and that is a high pick in that rd cuz of the Zuttah trade in which we flip flopped 6ths with San Fran. Possibly a CB especially with my scenario or possibly a dlineman. Try to get back. Its only 1 player lol.

Best mock I've seen so far. Sign me up.

I like it. Desmond king is iffy but your right about having depth and always good to have somebody that can move around in a pinch. Watt at 16  is also questionable only BC we could get him much later- so a tradeback would be ideal there- but hey if your coming away with a great player what difference does it make in the grand scheme of things? Nice mock.

I should my analysis on Watt in the edge rusher thread, but the thing I like about him is you can create mismatches all along the line. He can blitz from the inside and outside which means he can be lined up against the best OL or the weakest which is a mismatch in favor of our defense which is highly underrated these days when evaluating prospects, he can get skinny when he needs to, he does a great job locking hands on OL and then shedding them out of the way, he has my favorite trait that I look for in a defender which is endurance. He plays the same way in the 4th as he does in the 1st, I love it. I would prefer him in the 20's instead of at 16, but it's a mock so I get it no trades

This is literally my favorite mock that presents realism with need factored in. Some think Watt is a reach but I have him as top 20 with perhaps some of the most upside in the draft.

Elflein I think is a strong mock choice for most of the board and the second is likeliest place to land a third anchor on our line with Yanda & Stanley.

King is being vastly underrated if you ask me. The guy is one season removed from getting the Jim Thorpe award with 8 picks. He might not be as fluid or have as much speed as guys like Lattimore, Conley, Humphrey, etc., But he is a Football Player! The guy makes plays and he does it with a major edge. Physical, solid tackler, great ball skills, is great in zone and press, plus he has natural instincts. Minus straight line speed and pure mirroring skills, King will be a play maker.

Don't like the lack of WR early, at this rate we'll be going into the season with the a bottom 5 WR core. I think we go with Williams, Davis, or Ross in the 1st.

I really love Watt, but at the moment I have to hold to my guns that he's a reach at 16. I don't think he'll make it to our 2nd, so I think that if we trade back I'd love the pick. At 16 I certainly wouldn't freak out and I would be excited for him to suit up on game day. His potential is sky high and I'd take him over lots of EDGE guys that many would consider better value at 16.

Elflein is still my top center in the class - assuming Feeney doesn't make a full time switch - and I would be very happy if we snagged him at our second. Pocic would be another interesting option, in my opinion he's more versatile than Elflein, but, as I said, Elflein is still my top center and would compete for the vacant spot immediately.

I'm very intrigued with King, on tape I don't love him at CB honestly, but I think he can be very good at safety. And having a guy that is so versatile to play safety and be CB depth, much like what we lost with Webb, and on top of that he will fill our spot at return man as well. His ball skills are particularly interesting.

I'm ok with Ford, not a player that I love, but all things considered I don't think the value at this spot is bad. He still seems to get open all right without having blazing speed, which is obviously good, but I sort of question whether he's the type of WR that we are looking for.

I really like Bisnowaty as a RT. Not really much to say here.

I love Gallman. He's been sort of pushed to the side in this RB class, but I think the guy is really good, combines everything you want in a RB, he's one of those guys that's a jack of all traits, but a master of none. Love his unexpected power, burst, and running style, I really tend to dislike guys that dance around all over the place - sort of how West can be at times - and you won't find any of that with Gallman, he's just a no nonsense type runner, the kind I think we'll be looking for.

There are plenty of quality WR to be had in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. If Williams isn't there at 16 I see no reason to go WR in the 1st.

The Bears, Titans and  Bills all need help at receiver . The Cardinals and  Bengels may decide to draft a receiver as well. There really no sure thing that either of the three receivers fall down to The Ravens  picks  especially Corey Davis.

Not a  bad draft even though I think T.J Watt is a reach .  I like Desmond King but I like him as safety/nickel corner. He can get it done as a outside corner but I  like to see The Ravens get a corner that's similar to Jimmy Smith.
