Underdogs 1st quick mock

Round 1

Tennessee DE Derek Barnett

I know lots of our mocks pick this guy. This guy plays like a Raven and I really like this beast. Do I need to say more?? You got to love his motor! Not to mention his record breaking stats.

Round 2

USC WR JuJu smith-Shuster

Some might say that this might be a reach. But think about it.... after Mike Williams, Corry Davis, and John Ross go in the 1st round there's only Cooper Kupp who's stock keeps rising and maybe Chris Godwin that might go before JuJu in the 2nd round. So here we got a 6-1 215lb possession receiver that constantly gets compared to Anquan Boldin. I think he's a more explosive then Boldin. JuJu possibly could be Flaccos next best friend like Boldin and Pitta used to be.

Round 3

Ohio state C/OG Pat Eflien

Im not sure why he keeps sliding down a lot of big boards, but some say he could be the he could be like a smaller Travis Fredrick that is a former 1st round Center. Maybe the next Cody whitehair that went in the 2nd round last year. However I think he'd be a good anchor for our O line. He's tough and was a great leader in the locker room for Ohio state according to his teammates. We need competitors with that team mentality and nastiness for our run game.

Round 3 comp pick

Colorado CB Ahkelo Witherspoon

Here we get a 6-3 195lb big atlhletic CB that's a little raw but has a lot of tools and production in college. 24 passes defended, 4.45 40 time and a 40.5 vertical is pretty impressive. He has fluid hips and quick feet and has been flying under the radar with this super deep CB class. He'd be a good compliment to Jimmy Smith in a year or 2. He could battle it out with the guys we have now.

Round 4

Western Michigan OT Taylor Moton

Moton could be a steal here in the 4th round. He's big and thick with long arms and has bruiser mentality in the run game. He moves people in the run game. His athleticism at tackle might be a bit of a question. Scouts say he did a lot better at gaurd. Maybe with our staff and coaches coaching he could eventually battle with Alex Lewis, or who ever else might step up to the plate for right tackle. I think he'd be a good quality mid round pick.

Round 5

LSU ILB Kendell Beckwith

Kendell was the leading tackler but is sliding due to his injury. He's big, fast and pretty explosive. Scouts compare him to bernardrick McKinney. It might be a little too hopefull for him to slide this far, but we never know. Most have him projected to the 4th round, but he'd be a steal if he can stay healthy and be had in the 5th round.

Round 6

Pittsburgh RB James Connor

Connor is a big versatile RB that averaged 5.1 yards a carry. He's also useful in the passing game. I think he could battle with our stable of mediocre RB's and also could be a FB being that we lost juice in FA. I think Connor with time learning more blocking could be similar to juice at a lower cost.

Pretty much ideal. I'm not jujus biggest fan but I think he's got a chance to be solid, he could be a Mohammed Sanu type of guy but he could also end up like jaelen strong, he's got great hands and tenacity and runs like a truck, and his routes are solid but I think he's topped out and won't progress much, he's got some stiffness in his hips that will limit his ability to be an elite route runner, but he DOES get just enough separation to do what he does well, which is position his body to snatch the ball out of the air and give the db a hell of a fight to reach the ball. Elflein obviously addresses a huge need and is probably a day one starter, him going that late though is questionable.

All in all I'd be ecstatic with this draft

I actually like Desmond King better to draft at corner because he has ball skills imo which l hope he slips into the second round and Ozzie trade up. By looking at his college video, Akhello Witherspoon is a very tall corner but many people complain about his tackling.

I sort of feel the same way about JuJu. I just think he could be that guy that fans complain about in a year or 2 because we never picked him in the 2nd when he was available like Keenan Allen. Lol. I have a hunch that he could be better then people give him credit for. To be his size with those hands and always find the soft spots in coverage and find a way to get open... He could be the next American Express, but I don't think he'll be as bad as jalen strong. Imo

I'd be pretty darn happy with this draft.

Barnett is my #1 guy. Want him more than anyone.... but more and more I just dont think theres any chance we have a shot at him.

Not a huge JuJu fan, though i do see the potential. But if Kupp or Zay Jones is there, id probably be inclined to go with either of them before JuJu if eithers still on the board. And if there's a highly graded CB there.... id prob prefer that.

Like Elflein a lot, and could be in the exact range he goes. Love that pick.

And then I like all 3 of the next guys, especially at the value at which you have us taking them.... i just think they all go a round to half a round earlier than projected here. With the weakness of OT's in this draft, i think a lot of the middle guys especially bump up 20 spots to a full round with Moton going late 3rd very early 4th.

Connor is a solid late pick, and prob would be available. I prob prefer if we go RB late, to get a game breaking scat back type that can learn under Woodhead while also getting a couple touches per game, compete for PR duties. A guy like Tarik Cohen here I like a lot.

Overall solid mock. No complaints really on any of the players in it, and the value at every pick is solid (except JuJu imo).... just question whether some of the projected values are a little too good to be true, kinda thing.

Great mock. I'd take it. Moron might go earlier as well as Elflein, but if we both got them then we would have a pretty nasty line.

Zero complaints here.  Actually I would be head over heels with this. Addresses every important need while giving us several game changers. Love every single pick. Great job bro.

I love Desmond king but only as a safety. And now that we addressed that position I'm not so sure I'd take him. If he fell a bit or if the options were thin then heck yeah- but I'd prefer Kevin king over Desmond strictly at corner.

I would be thrilled with this draft. I would really like adding Elflein and Moton to our OL. Barnett is what our defense needs. JuJu does not seem a good fit in the second round, his route running needs a great deal of work. Overall this is a great mock.

Kevin King is another great pick. He got ball skills too. 👍

Yeah I like Kevin king also, it's just that most scouts have him going in the 2nd round. Witherspoon had 24 passes defended, I think Kevin King had 22. Pretty good production from both though.
