UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

Ravens Sign Brandon Carr

168 posts in this topic

I see people still want a CB in the first round.  I definitely want Davis/Williams in the first and then, as mentioned above, grabbing Jones in the 2nd or 3rd to stash for a year.  The Cowboys were willing to spend a 2nd on Jaylon Smith and he'll help them this year.  Grab Sidney Jones on day 2 and play him in 2018

sounds like both us and Jets were trying to sign Carr and Claiborne (each trying to figure out which one).

Prob both liked Carr's consistency and Claibornes upside. Imagine if Claiborne wouldve dropped his price hed have been the signing... since he wouldnt we pulled trigger on Carr and Claibornes only option was Jets at that point.

And Zach Brown visited Oakland and Indy. Likely no shot.

Zach Brown visit Oakland yesterday with no deal and well as Indy.

I like the fact that Carr is reliable. I hate the team spending $ to watch the guy they spent it on ride the pine pony week after week. this is the most active I can remember Oz being in free agency.

This wouldn't change my draft strategy at all. Carr should be a solid bridge but I highly doubt we're signing him thinking we've solved the CB issues. Needs to be Carr in addition to a draft pick.

Wish Leslie Frazier was still around to coach the new DB additions.

Ya Frazier knows his stuff for sure. I honestly don't know who we got to replace Frazier. But Frazier had to do what was best for him.

I agree 100% however, I do believe getting a pass rusher/elite lineman type/top WR should be the priority with round number 1. I still think we will definitely sign a CB after round 1 and even between rounds 2-3, though.

I don't think Ozzie ever changes his draft strategy as taking the best player on board.....

It will let us go BPA in 1st and take the corner later. Hopefully not much later.

Go wr/pass rusher round 1 and grab Gareon Conley or the next top rated cb round 2.

When did we became a big player in free agency?

As long as Carr performs better than Wright, we should be fine.

I guess we aren't double dipping in CBs in the draft after all.

However, it worries me that the OT position in the draft is very thin on talent. It's Ramczyk and Robinson, and then a huge drop-off with projects.

I think it's still a very big possibility that we grab two CBs in the draft.

4yr/$24M with options every year. Very easy to get out of after two years.

apparently there's an option at the end of the first year as well - essentially its year to year

Real winner is Maurice Canady who can start a Carr-Woodhead bidding war for that 39 jersey.

Not a bad pickup. Carr is solid if unspectacular. Should be an upgrade over Shareece Wright and should benefit from a scheme more friendly to his talents.

Doesn't change the draft needs, but it may let us go pass rusher or offense in the first now.
