Williams is a huge part of stopping the run, which is very important in the AFC North. I am glad he is staying,

Great!
There hasn't been much info on what the organization is trying to do with Arrington. It wouldn't surprise me if Webb restructures and stay to provide depth at safety and CB.

10M/yr? Good for Williams. Now he needs to become a total D Tackle for that kind of coin! He needs to learn to penetrate and disrupt the passing game. Stopping the run alone like he was good at was worth probably 7-8M/ yr. The ball's in your court Brandon. Earn your keep.

Good news for the Ravens... I just hope his new found riches won't hurt his great work ethic.

Yea I see Webb sticking around. I don't know how much intrest he would get from other teams. I mean I'm sure the Browns would pay him like 20 mil a year.

Great news!!! Now get a center to improve the O-line. Games are won in the trenches. Even in a pass happy league.

I can dig that! That is a lot of money for a NT but hey he's the best at what he does and demands money. Hopefully we can fill some of our other defensive voids through the draft. I'm digging our defensive signings thus far.

He didn't miss a game earning hundreds of thousands a year. So, we'll soon find out how many straight games he plays at several million bucks in guaranteed money starting this year. Typically these things never end well for the team as we have seen over and over again. Once the player is paid, the desire seems to erode. Remember Eugene Monroe? The worst contract ever. That guy shameless milked the Ravens and didn't care that he did.

I certainly didn't expect the Ravens to top the market for Williams and he wound up getting more than Damon Harrison got and I think Harrison is a better player. I am kind of 50/50 with this deal. I like Brandon Williams and I think he's a good player, but on the other hand that is a lot of money to pay out for his position and he doesn't stay on the field all the time. We have other players behind him showing promise. Does this mean that Micheal Pierce moves over to take Guy's spot? We've got a lot of bodies to play 3 positions still:

NT/DT: Brandon Williams, Michael Pierce, Carl Davis, Willie Henry, Timmy Jernigan

DE: Timmy Jernigan, Brent Urban, Bronson Kaufusi.

nice so our needs now are:
1- passrushers
2- CBs
3- OL
4- ILB
5-WR

Ravens have passrushers, they just need to produce. WR is last on their needs. So looks like draft time now.

Yes, so happy for Brandon and the Ravens.  Now, please get him some help so he isn't double-teamed so often that he gets injured.  We need Brandon to last! lol

I'm glad Brandon Williams is staying. This may be the first time since Jimmy Smith when they paid there own draft picks. That was a while ago so l like them seeing them do it once. Now the defense is shaping up to be good as a whole, wish Orr didn't had to retire though because we would've been set up at LB along with Safeties and d-line. Now the question is... is Dean Pees scheme is gonna make them successful because if he continues to do that bend but don't break defense like last year, doesn't matter who's playing if they allowing them 10 yards of the receiver. Pees play calling, have to be aggressive.

The defense is starting to stack up like a Ravens defense should look. Add a CB in the second or third round and with the depth of this draft, he will still be a starter and grab another inside LB and we are set. I don't think we are as bad off with pass rushers as others speculate. We still have our young guys especially Judon and Kaufusi will be back and we can see what we have there as well.

Pierce may be the biggest beneficiary of this deal as he learns from one of the best in the game and a great person and teammate.

I would love for the team to lock down L. Guy. He really is not just another guy. He was crucial on ST, was solid on the D Line, is already ingrained in the system and he isn't expensive.

If you read some of the articles, it really sounds like he just checked the market a bit only so he could work out a deal with the Ravens. Something to the extent that they were committed to making a deal work in Baltimore. If that doesn't make you feel good...

Williams is back, and we just added Tony Jefferson......and we will still be adding to the D
Our run defense next year should be absurd. Jefferson upgrades it no doubt. He can cover but he also plays and blitzes like a linebacker.
We undoubtedly have to get a legit corner, most likely in the first round or two....
but if Barnett slips to 16, and we throw him on the other side of Sizzle....this Defense. We're on our way back to a true Black and Purple Defense
With Dixon out for 4 games, I now understand why we tendered West and signed Woodhead
Amazing job FO!!!! I don't care what happens in the rest of FA, I give yall an "A".
The draft is what's been bringing us down though. We have really good picks in a great draft. Let's go knock it out of the park like FA.

Harrison might be a better player, maybe, barely. I hear you though, and this is what I'm thinking
Contracts are going up every year, it's natural. And he took a lot of guaranteed money which helps, and he deserves it and is a good player and person to give it to. i wouldn't think for one second he would slack off after getting paid
I think Pierce is amazing. But gambling on him being on only real NT going into the year is tough. Esp for us. I remember watching us get run all over a couple years ago and it was almost more painful than anything. Now we have Pierce and BWill for years to stuff the run, so that alone is a thing of beauty. And while I think they'll both improve their pass rush.....I know I know, that's not their job! We all get it. That doesn't mean they can't add it to everything else. But even if they don't, they pretty much take up 4 blockers together lol. I also think this move will allow Pierce to progress nicely, while keeping both big boys relatively fresh. I want Carl Davis to join in and make it a 3 headed Monster
To your point about having so many bodies up front. I think it's a great thing. I think we now just need to add another monster opposite SIzzle, and our line is way set. Barnett would be super interesting.
We also haven't seen stand out work from Urban. Henry hasn't played. Davis hasn't done anything. Kufasi hasn't played. And Timmy isn't the most reliable and is a little overated imo. So it's nice like we're forced to keep stars on the bench. This also allows us to focus on a couple other parts of our D now. Another corner and pass rusher, and I don't see how this D ever escapes the top 3 throughout the year. I know what you're saying though. I was really unsure about paying him that much at first, but I think it was a great move. Didn't see the TJ signing coming either. I put it out there, but didn't think we would get it done and right away. Hats off to the FO, but we'll still be teetering in the middle if we don't do the same in the draft. It's just as if not more important imo. Time to draft some Ravens that help lead us for the next 7-10 years

Excellent job FO. I think Webb and Pitta are gone soon and for some reason i think we draft OJ Howard.

If we pass on some big talent corners or pass rushers for another TE I won't be too impressed.
