[News] Reports: Ravens Signing Running Back Danny Woodhead

39 posts in this topic

Nothing could be more unimportant than signing Danny Woodhead.
We need 2 top tier corners that can play while the china doll (jimmy smith) polishes the pine waiting for his next big contract.
Mosely needs a partner in the middle.
Yanda and Stanley need 2 more just like them on the OL.
Assuming Kafusi and Correia remain busts, we need 5 more LBs and DL to go with Pierce, Guy and Jernigan. Forget Suggs, he's done. Maybe Smith will improve and give us one pass rusher, which will hardly make a difference given the lack of depth and talent we now have in the defensive front seven.
At least we have 2 good safeties...lol, we will need them unless Ozzie pulls off a major miracle.
Losing Williams and Wagner gutted this team. The loss of talent and physical domination is disgusting.
This should be the end of the Harbaugh era.

Camp can't be relied on. And will be teamed with Woodhead in the return game
Allen is good for Special teams and that really is it
Dixon will be our main back and will be carrying a lot of the load and needs time off. And needs to improve his pass protection
Also, he's not really going to be a rb- he'll be a screen/ wr/ scat back type. I doubt even our coaches can screw that up
His injury was week 2 as well at least. Could be interesting

Lol... you basically reiterated what I said about him and his role...  his role has always been that of a Receiving RB/ slot/ gimmick guy..

Camp has injury concerns yes we all know.. but we can't pretend that a 32 year old player Woodhead coming off of ACL injury will be dependable either

Why on earth do you think that's all Buck Allen is good for when he had 800+ total yards his rookie year only to be Healthy scratch weekly this year.

We just saw T.West play 16 games most as the starter and he just barely got 1000 total yards this year.

And  even if Woodhead is perfectly healthy will this coaching staff use him correctly still remains to be seen.

All I'm saying is this could be Speedy Noil or Greg Ward in the 6th-7th round. Or it could be K.Reynaulds as well for Returns/ versatile weapon.

He's here now but wow one of the first signings lol

last season the Ravens cut a veteran RB who made the pro bowl, was coming back from an injury in 2015, saying that they needed to give the young guys, Dixon, West, and Allen a chance. That RB was Justin Forsett, 2 years younger then Woodhead and his injury was a broken arm, which didn't slow down his running ability. So why the change of heart Ravens? Harbaugh said he was a fan of Dixon, said the same about West, said the same about Buck Allen before we drafted him, Harbaugh saying he's a fan must be the kiss of death. Harbaugh simply does not have confident in young players and it shows. Fumble more than once, drop 2 passes, run the wrong route multiples time and in the doghouse you go. Buck Allen might has well look to be released.

You miss the other piece that Woodhead brings with him; he's better out of the backfield than Forsett and also any other current RB on the roster. He was used in the slot more by both NE and SD and that slot receiver is someone we've been missing

Woodhead is going to make hypocrites out of all doubters on this board. They currently have no knowledge of his football skills and IQ.

Just watched his Chargers highlights. they were better than I thought. I don't know hoe old they were and what type of shape he's in, and his knee. But it looks like he's exclusively a pass catching back and wr with other stuff sprinkled in. So it's not like he'll be taking many if any handoffs. If he's healthy, he actually might be a decent insurance back, slot and extra scat wr, and possible returner. I shouldn't be so quick to judge. Might be a good signing. I also try to see the absolute best in a player/ their situation once they first join the Ravens. I hope he can return. Him and Camp would be a sweet return tag team. We tendered camp at 1.8 mil

If we use him as all 3. Slot, RB, and returner then we def get our money's worth. As Dixon develops he'll eventually carry the load but I have no clue why we spend 1.8 mil on camp and 1.8 mil on West. That 3.5 mil can be spent elsewhere...

your bsolutely right. Woodhead is a lot of fun to watch. Elusive smart guy.
