T Smith coming back is an AWFUL signing unless we got him for 2 million a year and can keep Mike Wallace who is our ONLY LEGIT NFL WR. Looks like we are heading down the road of 8-8 (at best)

4-12 top 5 pick boom

yes that's all that matters - you suggested he take a paycut but only 6 million of that 21 million is negotiable this year - only 6 million - everything else is guaranteed and there is no way he should or would give up any of that 6 mill

So terrible. How you get rid of Dumervil and keep Pitta is beyond me. Doom will prove to be a sure fire 10+ sacks guy in 2017 for another team and Pitta will continue to hamstring both our offense and will help in the continued regression of our very own Joe Flacco! Pitta needs to be gone ASAP so our offense can breathe new life and give Flacco 10 other options besides Pitta alone. It'll force Flacco to see the whole field eventually. With Pitta in, Flacco'e eyes will follow Pitta to the end of the earth.

It's now reported that Pita will have to take a pay cut to stay... there is still hope I guess.

you literally just listed them above and copied the wrong number - you've copied the 2018 not the 2017 - and im not sure how listing something i was literally telling you about changes the facts of what i've been saying?

Who says Pitta stays on this team? I can guarantee we aren't done cutting players.

They're already in discussions for a paycut, which holds a lot more value than just a straight cut. You can get similar or nearly identical cap savings from a paycut as you will just cutting him entirely.

I would also point out that Pitta and Wallace had practically the same number of targets last season, and Steve Smith had over 100 targets as well.

This notion that Flacco only looks at Pitta isn't based on anything factual from what I can tell.

a lot of what they did was just convert some of his base salaries into signing bonuses and extend him further - again there wasnt much to cut and why would he take a straight paycut? he literally lowered his cap number for us last year why would he do it again?

Doesn't matter what gets paid and when cap number is what we have against the cap and what we have to spend. Who cares when and what he got. Cap number affects what we do.

Yes it does.

But when you're talking about paycuts, the cap number means very little. The only thing you can take a paycut from is your current year salary.

Can't cut previously paid bonuses. Newsflash... most of Joe's cap hit is from previously paid bonuses.

Paycut ain't happening kid. Get used to it. Throwing a temper tantrum ain't gonna solve anything...

I don't think pitta had anything to do with deciding to let go of Doom. But I know this for sure. Pass rush is Baltimores most glaring need and also the weakest position in FA. There's also no guarantee that a top tier Rookie falls to the Ravens on draft day so.....

Ozzie, your on the clock! Fix this

yes it does - but the way the cap number exists on that contract means he cant feasibly take a paycut... i dont know what you're missing?

It was good to have him aboard - and no regrets about signing him.

And let's make it clear: he won't be back in Baltimore - unless he's damaged goods - and then we don't need him. If he's healthy,he'll land a much better deal  than we could afford. "Open to him returning" is the same sentiment as "we may retain Brandon Williams, Wagner or Juszczyk" was. Everyone with the slightest grasp on the cap system knew all along it wouldn't happen.
Nor will Dumervil's return.

So long Elvis, and thanks for all the fish. You'll be kindly remembered, cause you played for us the way we hoped you would.

These are the days when none of what these guys say should be taken seriously... they share/repost/post EVERYTHING they hear, regardless of how trustworthy the source is... For example, just the last 24 hours, Juszczyk was reported to "likely sign with the browns", "almost surely" go to Buffalo - then turns out he'll sign with the 49ers...

Also, a "rumour" that the Ravens have any kind of realistic chance to land Jefferson somehow got loose - and just look at the angry Ravens-fans who took it seriously come here ranting when he signs with the Browns who won't even have to break a sweat outbidding us big time...
