UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

ANNOUNCEMENT: Boards Closing May 5 (New Date)

Some of us have talked about this before but a ravens podcast...even a cheesily shot weekly you tube one where guys on this board break down players....specific to Ravens needs/fit and speculate on who we might select would be a cool novelty....really think guys on this board would do a much better job than anyone I've seen or read locally.

I'd be down to do recordings on players to fit the Ravens needs.

I don't like RSR simply because the mods show extreme favoritism. Some posters can call others whatever they want but the second you respond you get banned. Might check out that scout one. Or if Bold can get one setup that we all migrate to.

I just fail to understand how the official Ravens website is closing the official Ravens message board. I probably won't be posting too often anymore.

This was my go to for breaking news since I don't have twitter. Damn.

worst thing about it is that they arent closing down comments on articles - so all the terrible fire flacco, ozzie, harbs and bisciotti fans will still clog up those posts

ThinK this is absolute bollocks to be frank. How can a company making millions not afford a message board? Couldn't save that much money.

I'd estimate 75 percent of hits on the br.com site are people that only use the forum.

I haven't been on the homepage in about 3 years. I visit entirely for the converse with other members. I can't get that on Facebook snapchat or twitter.

I give the br.com website 2 years before they realise it's not viable without the boards.

I agree.

I used to use the app for news, but it's so behind these forums that I stopped visiting entirely.

If they are reliant on ad revenue then I can see it reducing significantly - what's gonna pay for some of those stupid videos they put on the website - think of mink and downing - oh "think of the children" - how will they be clothed and fed without the boards?

but seriously they just realise how much traffic these boards create for them on the actual site... because I certainly don't get my news from here because literally every other outlet and insider is quicker... I don't even have twitter but I still hear about Ravens breaking news from there and the NFL site before here - so I come here for LFW and the boards and that's pretty much it

Facebook is the worst place to go if you want a conversation about this team everyone is so clueless and I'm pretty sure half of them don't actually watch the games... I've stopped posting here for a little while because of the end of the season but I still check up and see what everyone's talking about this is sad I feel this is the only place I can talk with people who love this team as much as I do

I joined this site in 2008 when I was deployed and the ravens were on their way to the playoffs. I literally lived in this forum in my downtime and I learned A TON about the game of football as broken down by our members. I feel it's a real mistake to move away from this as BR.com is looked at by all Ravens fans. I don't have social media accounts so I guess the terribly written articles at NFL.com will be my comfort now

I remember this forum being much more active than now. However there is still a lot of activity here. I seriously hope the powers that be will reconsider.....

if if anyone decides to make a Flock 2.0 board. I'll happily join and support in any manner I can

While I don't post a lot, I like to read discussions. I created a forum if anyone wants to jump over. If it garners up enough interest, I'll keep it up, otherwise I'll slash it. Would want some mods

There's already been one created.

Everyone join this if you want to keep the community together.

A large influx of members joining this will just that

Wow this sucks... I wish there could at least be a gameday thread still.  I really enjoy having gameday with other Ravens fans.

Rather than venting randomly on Facebook lol.

I hate the idea of using Facebook or Twitter to have actually conversations with people about things like the draft. The site setup for them really doesn't suit that.

I'm in the uk - there is literally no one to talk and discuss and watch the games with other than on these forums

And literally any random troll can divert the entire conversation etc. mainly because there is no quote function there

Before becoming a mod, I had NEVER been to the forum side.  I had always been a blog person.  It's disappointing, yes.  There have been duplicate discussions on the site because of this for years.  There are MANY teams that doing the same thing.  We are not the only ones.  The site has become home to many folks, but so many have moved on.  We are as disappointed as you guys are.  I do understand that conversations about the happenings can still be had on the news side.

There will still be a Ravens website where you'll get breaking news, and you will be able to comment on those stories.

What I mean is you can ignore them here if you want because you can quote who you are responding to... that's not a feature of any social media sites except twitter - but I don't think complex draft prospect analysis can really take place in 140 characters...

I know, it is not going to be the same. I may check out some other sites, but I need time to wrap my head around this. I am going to miss a lot of friends that may not switch over to something I do. I don't care to do facebook or twitter. I personally have a very small family and when I am on during gameday, I feel like everyone is my family and in my living room with me. I have a strange feeling on April 1st it is going to feel like I just lost my right arm.

Before everyone rushes off to join new sites, I'd like to offer a PSA.  Be very careful of protecting your personal information.  Not all sites are as secure as this one.  Some are very easy for others to use to "track you down" and harass/stalk you. That's one of the reasons I recommended Scout.  It's been around for many years without any nasty incidents.
