cutting them wouldn't make sense especially since pitta was very production coming off of two hip surgeries. If anything those guys need to take pay cuts (especially doom and webby) to make room. Arrington needs to be next on the list. Whose stepping in for webby if we cut him? Same with Doom? Pitta we can have someone step in but for how long? Our TE's continues to get banged up (Maxx, Crocket, Ben). I would like to see a trade happen with one of the TE's. Ben maybe but I doubt anyone would take him coming off that ACL tear.

Goodbye Wright & Lewis, hello Tony Jefferson! (One can only hope)

there's no way jefferson is coming here - he's going to get a much too big contract and he's a box safety which would mean we have no deep safety on the team unless you want either jefferson or weddle not to play all the defensive snaps which would be odd considering how much money we would be paying them

i personally want none of the front-line free agents

What took so long for these guys to start cutting the cap dead weight. So when is the other shoe gonna drop cutting Dume, Webb, and Arrington? If the 49ers cut you with one of the worst secondary's in the league why was he getting a long term deal here? nevermind

because he played well, like many players who get contracts he performed well got the contract and then regressed

We need to let Webb go... There are plenty of quality safeties in the draft (No less then 5 legit prospects in the first 3 rounds) and we can pick up another veteran S for fairly cheap (who should play equally as well as webb)

I do not see us cutting doom but stretching his contract out over a longer incentive heavy contract would be smart... we need pass rushers.

Finally... we have to cut Pitta... even if we bring him back later for less. He is set to make more then Ben Watson and our other (good young TEs) combined. Pitta is not worth that... especially when we have Watson and all the young TEs on contract.

Arrington should go... and I would imagine that we will lose BW, RW, and Juice...

I think Kamar will probably be gone as well

I really believe that Zuttah will also be let go... clearing even more space.
Finally... Not sure what we are doing with Buck Allen and Talifero... but with West and Dixon seeming to be secure and the plans we have to add a speed back... I really don't see us keep both of them.

Mallet may also be gone... what Dak did last year has a lot of teams second guessing paying big money to back ups. (I wouldn't mind seeing Mallet return but you never know)

Okay the 2 most obvious candidates are gone. Here's what I suspect is going to happen over the next 24-48 hours. I think the Ravens are negotiating to rework the contracts for both Wallace and Dumervil right now. If it works out they'll sign extensions and create ample cap for this year. Wallace stays regardless but
Doom can be released if the negotiations doesn't work. I personally don't think any of our free agents save Guy is going to stick around. Williams, Wagner and Juice are all gone in a couple of days for better payday situations. After clearing ample cap space we sign a tackle, corner and WR from the free agent class from now until training camp. No splash signings for the Ravens. We plug all the holes from losses by the time the draft rolls in. We'll draft the BPA in the draft beginning with CB/OLB and/or WR/RB. All will be well for 2017.

no big loss with these two. It looks like all the free agents are as good as gone, with the exception of Juice, possibly. Who are the Ravens going after or who can the Ravens afford?

Sounds like another ride to 8-8. Road wins in Cleveland and in London against the Jags(maybe) and hopefully we can win 5 or 6 at home. Just an opinion from a Fan who drives 250 miles roundtrip for the home games and goes to one or two on the road every season.

i mean this is what we do every year in ozzie's time in baltimore - a lot of the time we've been in the playoffs... we have a lot of holes but what do you want the ravens to do differently?

He didn't play that well to garner that contract. But eventually the front office quickly understood their error.

you have to project forward with players and he played well enough to maybe think that he would continue playing well - they just got it wrong, it happens, and the contract wasnt big enough that its going to cause a problem

Cannot say I am surprised. I was hopeful about Wright when he originally earned the contract but his play certainly curtailed. When looking at this draft in particular, it really shouldn't be a surprise. There are much younger talent available for a much better team value.

I really want Pitta to be cut soon and designated a Post June 1st. I think Webb, Arrington and Pitta are the 3 most important cuts for us to make ASAP.
