12 posts in this topic

The veteran defensive back stepped in to play 13 games (six starts) last season as a slot and outside cornerback. Will the Ravens want him back to provide versatility and depth, or will they go younger?

They should let him go, he got torched as a nickel back last year.

Let me walk. They can probably draft a guy in the 6th round who would be better and cheaper.

My opinion is there are only 2 corners that should remain from last year-
Jimmy Smith and Tavon Young. Start over to find the other 3 CB needed for the 52 man roster. Draft the best CB possible at #16, FA should provide at least one decent addition and then look for good bargain youth!

Powers isn't as bad as you guys make him out to be. He is worth hanging on to if we don't have anyone better at the position. Wright was the weak link last year.

Again... why could Powers be so successful in Arizona but struggle so much in BMORE. This is the M.O. for DBs in Dean Pees defense... and unless you are a super star like Weddle this seems to hold true.
Will Hill... great in NY ... inconsistent at best in BMROE
D Stewart... Great in Denver (since leaving) ran out of BMORE
J. Ihedigbo... Great in Detroit... (since leaving) ran out of BMORE
B. Pollard... Great in Tennessee struggled at best under Pees.
W Davis ... played very well in Miami... cant make it under Pees system
J. Powers... played very well in Arizona... cant make it in BMORE
Sharece Wright...
the list goes on and on... when are we going to figure out the we could have Patrick Peterson, Richard Sherman, Weddle and Landon Collins back there and our DBs will struggle bc of Pees scheme.

I really believe that the only reason the DBs were better last year is bc of the presence of Leslie Fraiser. Now that he is gone ... I am really concerned. I think we will continue to struggle to stop the pass and Pees will continue to have excuses. We will bend but not break (until the 4th quarter) and then we will break losing more and more heartbreakers... and Pees will say that it is bc we drafted a bunch of young DBs who are learning the system.

When he had old veterans like ; Ed Reed, Pollard, DStewart, Ihedigbo and others... he said they were too old and we needed an influx of talent. NO WE NEED A NEW DC. that is where the talent is needed the most.

With that said... we may as well off load Powers or any DB that is not on a rookie contract (not named weddle or jimmy) bc they will all under perform... in a system that has never had success in the defensive backfield.

I been saying it for years now pees sucks that's why Bill belichic got rid of him he's not a good game time adjuster and our DB's play so far off the receivers I can't see them on my big screen and how in the hell can you stop a team for 3 and a half quarters and then let theme go down the field with ease and score and lose another game we should have won

Speaking of CB. Damontae Kazee was on fire this week but they project him in the 4th? That's nuts. I would love to see Ed Reed work with this secondary.Heck I would also have Deon Sanders run some drills here.
