There are at least 26 players (no QB's) in the draft that i would be happy with in round one. So we can trade back 10 positions, still get a top talent, plus pick up another second round pick

I think that's the type of thinking that gets the Ravens into trouble and results in their bad drafting as of late. Take the known BPA at #16. Quality over quantity. Ravens need difference makers. They are more likely to find one at #16 than later.

If Judon, Smith, and Correa are "Young Talent" why are we still looking to draft pass rushers. Judon showed flashes, Smith could not get on the field, and Correa made a tackle (I think) on Special Teams as our #2 pick. I always thought the "Young Talent" tag was for players who were actually playing and making plays.

I'm not sure but I think Correa's claim to fame last season was only counted as a half tackle. Ozzie just Has to start getting us some better talent in rounds 1,2 and 3. I love Stanley. Let me make that clear. But we haven't been getting Near the talent level we should be getting from our higher draft choices. Stop thinking too much, Ozzie, getting an extra fourth rounder by moving down the board so many times. Instead, stay put and draft better players. Those early rounds are supposed to be where you get your best prospects and guys that help your team get better. That has not been happening enough. Not Nearly enough. Honestly, just how many people had even heard of Correa and, even, Kaufusi before we drafted them? I can only hope that Kaufusi's lost season due to injury will get behind him and he will prove to have been a good choice. But when your biggest contributors tend to come from the 4th round, or later, it would seem that you are not drafting very well.

I think you may be on to something. There are players with first round grades in the top 50; an unusually solid draft particularly on defense. If the Ravens can get 3 picks in the first 50, that might be worth considering.
I just don't think we can afford the time to draft a "developmental" guy too high at edge, OL, or CB/FS. We just don't have the depth there.

Let's stay put with our Draft position picks. Maybe this year we will ACTUALLY draft players at #2 and #3 that can do more than be a fringe Special Teams player. Quick question. If Mel Kiper keeps giving the Ravens an A, A+, or A- in the Draft every year we are we so mediocre?

Coaching. But, in fairness, I must add that Mel Kiper doesn't know half what he thinks he does. For the most part, though, poor coaching.

Who the hell is Mel Kiper?

Doesn't look like Harris or Williams will be around when we pick at 16,but the corners look really good. Obi is a freak of nature.

Whobilly, i normally would be agreeing you, law215 and
RavenManiac#7; and argued for quality over quantity the last couple years. But i think this draft is different. It is really deep and we have a lot of needs. It's unfortunate that we don't have 11 picks this year instead of last year. Look at this list of 29 with no QB's. I originally said "26", so you can drop your least 3 favorite....

Myles Garrett
Leonard Fournette
Jonathan Allen
Jamal Adams
Reuben Foster
Tim Williams
Mike Williams
Dalvin Cook
Jabrill Peppers
Quincy Wilson
Corey Davis
Derek Barnett
O.J. Howard
Takkarist McKinley
John Ross
Christian McCaffrey
Jalen Tabor
Zach Cunningham
Taco Charlton
Marshon Lattimore
Sidney Jones
Ryan Ramczyk
Charles Harris
Malik McDowell
Desmond King
Cordrea Tankersley
Solomon Thomas
Marlon Humphrey
Budda Baker

Now obviously if a top 5, maybe top 10 falls to us, we grab him. But otherwise, we can trade down 10 positions, still get a great pick and add another 2nd. If any QB's get picked before #16, then we have even more options. Have I convinced you?

agree completely. we have been overthinkin the draft for yrs now. oz and decoosta play around with 1, 2 and 3 round pics like they are 4th, 5th and 6th round pics. they take their chances early rather than late.  it ain't rocket science oz. it football 4 cryin out  loud.

its gotten so bad we are yrs past these two correctin their problems.  its total rebuild now and we are in a position to do it if those two aren't tryin to save their skins and can admit to their bad years for us

I hate to say it but unless there's a top 3-4 guy left for us at 16 (Which I don't see happening), I see us trading back to get extra picks. It's one of the deepest drafts in recent history and we love extra picks so I don't see us reaching for a player. I think we can get two sexy corners and a WR or pass rusher in rounds 2-3 anyway. You stay with your 1st round pick and you're going quality over quantity. Trade back for more opportunities and it's more quantity over quality, as we've seen the last few years but this year, it appears there's quality in quantities in many of our positions of need.
