I would hit the brakes on the Mangold thing...Honestly wouldn't be an upgrade over Zuttah at this point. We don't want to pay for previous accolades and 'hope' he can regain his form. Past achievements won't help us win games in the future...

change of scenery , motivation, going to a stable organization. what u said is exactly what was said about other similar players we signed before like SSS, BOLDIN, mason, rolle,

the only way we start improving is if we keep some of our own underrated players, like guy, and aiken, etc...

The thing is Mangold hasn't been very good the past 2 years and has graded worse than Zuttah so why pay for an older player who is likely a downgrade.

He is not a downgrade. Injury and quarterback play has a role in the offensive line. He was injured last year, he had terrible quarterback play, but still hasn't given up a sack in 33 games. He was named to the pro bowl the two years before last year. Definitely an upgrade.

I would sign Mangold on the fact he hasn't given up a sack in 33 games and he knows how to run block by playing in a system that heavily featured the run game under Rex Ryan. I'm sure Roman wants Mangold too.

Also I like veteran centers like Mangold who can help sort out the protection up front because, for some reason, Flacco seems surprised each time the blitz comes. He is not great at calling protections and Mangold will help with that. He would also be a good mentor for a center we draft for the future.

Of course all of this is predicated on him being healthy, which is true of anyone brought in.

Yup, and he doesn't get shoved around in the middle like Zuttah does. Since his injury was just an ankle, I would expect him to be fully healthy this season and to have at least 2 more years in the tank.

Not really though. Everyone knew Boldin and SSS could still play. Boldin was still in his prime. Derrick Mason was the same way. I don't believe anyone doubted their ability to play at a high level when they came to Baltimore. Could Mangold revive his career here? Yeah probably especially playing with Yanda. But realistically Zuttah hasn't been that bad, and over the past couple years Mangold hasn't been better. Yeah he played with injuries the past 2 seasons, but that doesn't bold well for a 33 year old body trying down in the trenches. Zuttah has dealt with injuries to, and played through them for us. I'm not trying to say I'm a Zuttah lover, because I'm all for upgrades. But like I said, I want upgrades. The draft would be the place to find a center right now...

Mangold has been riddled with injuries. He cant stay on field like Monroe couldnt with us past 2 years. How does he make sense Sarah?
